How detect objets with an Ip camera?Need ideas about my project.

Hello,
I work on an project of an camera IP fixed on a robot. The camera come on a fixed way. When an object is placed on this way the camera detect him and stopped the robot.
I wonder me because that try to define that I need to do. That we need is to calculate the distance between the camera and the object and when this distance become very little = 2 cm for example, the robot stopped. But with an camera I don't think that is possible to calculate the distance.
An second option is to use an detection of objects. On this solution, when the robot come on may be it recognized as an object because if the camera detect an movement when the robot come on there is all times an movement.
Have you ideas of the problem, What sort of way can I Take.
Thanks

    Hi Rama
Retailing consists of the sale of goods or merchandise, from a fixed location such as a department store or kiosk, in small or individual lots for direct consumption by the purchaser.[1] Retailing may include subordinated services, such as delivery. Purchasers may be individuals or businesses. In commerce, a retailer buys goods or products in large quantities from manufacturers or importers, either directly or through a wholesaler, and then sells smaller quantities to the end-user. Retail establishments are often called shops or stores. Retailers are at the end of the supply chain. Manufacturing marketers see the process of retailing as a necessary part of their overall distribution strategy.
Shops may be on residential streets, shopping streets with few or no houses, or in a shopping center or mall, but are mostly found in the central business district. Shopping streets may be for pedestrians only. Sometimes a shopping street has a partial or full roof to protect customers from precipitation. Retailers often provided boardwalks in front of their stores to protect customers from the mud. Online retailing, also known as e-commerce is the latest form of non-shop retailing (cf. mail order).
Shopping generally refers to the act of buying products. Sometimes this is done to obtain necessities such as food and clothing; sometimes it is done as a recreational activity. Recreational shopping often involves window shopping (just looking, not buying) and browsing and does not always result in a purchase.
Most retailers have employees learn facing, a hyperreal tool used to create the look of a perfectly-stocked store even when it is not.

    [edit] Retail pricing
The pricing technique used by most retailers is cost-plus pricing. This involves adding a markup amount (or percentage) to the retailers cost. Another common technique is suggested retail pricing. This simply involves charging the amount suggested by the manufacturer and usually printed on the product bize the manufacturer.
In Western countries, retail prices are often so-called psychological prices or odd prices: a little less than a round number, e.g. $6.95. In Chinese societies, prices are generally either a round number or sometimes a lucky number. This creates price points.
Often prices are fixed and displayed on signs or labels. Alternatively, there can be price discrimination for a variety of reasons, where the retailer charges higher prices to some customers and lower prices to others. For example, a customer may have to pay more if the seller determines that he or she is willing to. The retailer may conclude this due to the customer's wealth, carelessness, lack of knowledge, or eagerness to buy. Another example is the practice of discounting for youths or students. Price discrimination can lead to a bargaining situation often called haggling, in which the parties negotiate about the price. Economists see this as determining how the transaction's total surplus will be divided into consumer and producer surplus. Neither party has a clear advantage, because of the threat of no sale, in which case the surplus vanishes for both.
Retailers who are overstocked, or need to raise cash to renew stocks may resort to "Sales", where prices are "marked down", often by advertised percentages - "50% off" for example."Sales" are often held at fixed times of the year, for example January sales, or end-of-season sales, or Blue Cross Sale
    [edit] Retail Industry
Retail Industry has brought in phenomenal changes in the whole process of production, distribution and consumption of Consumer Goods all over the world. In the present world most of the developed economies are using the Retail Industry as their vital growth instrument. At present, among all the industries of U.S.A the Retail Industry holds the second place in terms of Employment Generation. In fact, the strength of the Retail Industry lies in its ability to generate large volume of employment.
Not only U.S but also the other developed countries like U.K, Canada, France, Germany are experiencing tremendous growth in their Retail Sectors. This boom in the Global Retail Industry was in many ways accelerated by the Liberalization of Retail Sector.
Observing this global upward trend of Retail Industry, now the developing countries like India are also planning to tap the enormous potential of the retail sector. Wal-Mart,the world's largest Retailer has been invited to India. Other popular Brands like Pantaloons, Big Bazar, Archies are rapidly increasing their market share in the retail sector. According to a survey, within 5 years, the Indian Retail Industry is expected to generate 10 to 15 million jobs by direct and indirect effects. This huge employment generation can be possible because of the fact that being dependent on the the Retail Sector shares a lot of Forward and Backward Linkages.
Emergence of a strong Retail Sector can contribute immensely to the economic development of any country. With a dominant retail sector, the farmers and other suppliers can sell their produce directly to the major retail companies and can ensure stable profit. On the other hand, to ensure steady supply of goods, the Retail Companies can inject cash into the production system. This whole process can result into a more efficient production and distribution system for the economy as a whole.
    [edit] Etymology
Retail comes from the French word retaillier which refers to "cutting off, clip and divide" in terms of tailoring (1365). It first was recorded as a noun with the meaning of a "sale in small quantities" in 1433 (French). Its literal meaning for retail was to "cut off, shred, paring". Like the French, the word retail in both Dutch and German (detailhandel and Einzelhandel respectively) also refer to sale of small quantities or items.[citation needed]
    [edit] Retail types
According to Jim there are three major types of retailing. The first is the market, a physical location where buyers and sellers converge. Usually this is done in town squares, sidewalks or designated streets and may involve the construction of temporary structures (market stalls). The second form is shop or store trading. Some shops use counter-service, where goods are out of reach of buyers, and must be obtained from the seller. This type of retail is common for small expensive items (e.g. jewelry) and controlled items like medicine and liquor. Self-service, where goods may be handled and examined prior to purchase, has become more common since the Twentieth Century. A third form of retail is virtual retail, where products are ordered via mail, telephone or online without having been examined physically but instead in a catalog, on television or on a website. Sometimes this kind of retailing replicates existing retail types such as online shops or virtual marketplaces such as futurebazaar.com or Amazon.[2].
Buildings for retail have changed considerably over time. Market halls were constructed in the Middle Ages, which were essentially just covered marketplaces. The first shops in the modern sense used to deal with just one type of article, and usually adjoined the producer (baker, tailor, cobbler). In the nineteenth century, in France, arcades were invented, which were a street of several different shops, roofed over. counters, each dealing with a different kind of article was invented; it was called a department store. One of the novelties of the department store was the introduction of fixed prices, making haggling unnecessary, and browsing more enjoyable. This is commonly considered the birth of consumerism [3]. In cities, these were multi-story buildings which pioneered the escalator.
In the 1920s the first supermarket opened in the United States, heralding in a new era of retail: self-service. Around the same time the first shopping mall was constructed [4] which incorporated elements from both the arcade and the department store. A mall consists of several department stores linked by arcades (many of whose shops are owned by the same firm under different names). The design was perfected by the Austrian architecht Victor Gruen[5]. All the stores rent their space from the mall owner. By mid-century, most of these were being developed as single enclosed, climate-controlled, projects in suburban areas. The mall has had a considerable impact on the retail structure and urban development in the United States. [6]
In addition to the enclosed malls, there are also strip malls which are 'outside' malls (in Britain they are called retail parks. These are often comprised of one or more big box stores or superstores.
Non-traditional exterior of a SuperTarget, JacksonvilleLocal shops can be known as brick and mortar stores in the United States. Many shops are part of a chain: a number of similar shops with the same name selling the same products in different locations. The shops may be owned by one company, or there may be a franchising company that has franchising agreements with the shop owners (see also restaurant chain).
Some shops sell second-hand goods. Often the public can also sell goods to such shops, sometimes called 'pawn' shops. In other cases, especially in the case of a nonprofit shop, the public donates goods to the shop to be sold (see also thrift store). In give-away shops goods can be taken for free.
There are also 'consignment' shops, which is where a person can place an item in a store, and if it sells the person gives the shop owner a percentage of the sale price. The advantage of selling an item this way is that the established shop give the item exposure to more potential buyers.
The term retailer is also applied where a service provider services the needs of a large number of individuals, such as with telephone or electric power.
IS Retail was original develop to meet specific needs of Retail industry where standard SD/MM cannot.
    - Significant functionality difference are:
    - Store specific features are built into IS Retail where as it is not in
    standard SD/MM.
    - Mass processing of pricing (some of the retail features were
included as standard SAP as of 4.6)
    - Assortment handling is not in standard SAP
There are other differences in inventory costing/valuation etc.
Retail valuation only available in SAP Retail.
What is known in the trade as the "retail inventory method" or the "retail method" involves valuating stocks at retail, often aggregated at merchandise category or departmental level.
Both the cost method and the retail method can be used in SAP Retail.
Actually IS-Retail is a combination of MM and SD plus other funtionalities speacially developed for the retail industry such as:
    Promotions
    Pricing
    Assortments
    Clasification
    Merchandise category
    Seasons
Is important to mention that all the funtionality of MM and SD is avialable in SAP IS-Retail with some diferences in some transactions:
Material master data (article in retail) has some diferences.
    Vendor master data.
    Site master data.

  • Is there a way to wake an ipad up by detecting motion with the front camera?

I am using the iPad for an HMI Display To control a machine and want it to be able to wake up from sleep just by detecting motion with the front camera rather than having to push any buttons on the iPad, is this even possible?

No apple store, or Best Buy or anything like that.  Again, she lives in a very remote area.   The closest stores are roughly 6 hours away.   I suppose she can go to a friends house that has a computer but then she is setting up her ipad on someone else's computer.    Since she's been able to use the thing out of the box (and without a computer) for over a year, we were just hoping to this without the need of a computer.   I guess we will just have to wait for her next visit to us in the city.
    Thanks.

  • I Need Idea about parametrizing a Statik web Page

    Hello EveryBody;
I wanted to design JSP pages to change our static web site into dynamic one.Dynamic refers only the images and some menu links menus. Actualy there are 3 menus top,sub and left.So what I did, I wrote a class that creates the menuObjects and builds the sturcture (which one is root ,childs of root and sub_childs etc etc).Than I put the root into the session and whener you click a link it sends a parametere and JSP pages refreshing with this new parametre and root itself....
    BUT
I realy don't know if the works going on like this. And I have no idea if I am on the right way or not. If you read this thread and have any idea about it Can you share it with me???
    Thanks For Your Consideration

You should take a look at the MVC design pattern. MVC stands for Model View Controller and it is a design pattern which tells you how to build a web application in a way it is easily scalable.
This way, you should work with JSP's (View) who only show the data, java beans (model) who contain the data and servlets (controller) who controls the flow of the application.
The Java Beans correspond to the concepts the user knows like Client, Product, Order, Invoice.
To get back to your dynamic web application, you could build a database (take a look at MySQL) which contains the menustructure. With DAO's or Data Access Objects you can retrieve the data from your database and put in into Java Beans. The Java Beans would contain your menu structure and show it on your JSP's.
I've made a brief description of the MVC. If you want to know more, let me know.

  • How to edit with a second camera?

We are using one camera to record our church services.  It was suggested we could get a second camera and then edit the video from the two cameras into one sequence.  Since I just started to use PP CS5 to do the editing from the one camera, I am not sure how that would work.  I have seen the final product that others have done, but would like a quick overview of what needs to be done in PP.
By the way, we have a AVCHD camera that saves the video to an SDHC card, so will assume we will get a similar camera for the second one.  Also, we take the audio from our sound board and it goes into the camera, so is part of the recording.  Should I also assume that the audio should only be recorded onto only one camera?  Sorry, lots of questions - any help to get me started?

Premiere PRO can easily handle the editing of two cameras or many more and really your question as to whether to get a second camera depends on creatively what you want to do.  If you are shooting someone speaking or playing a piano, having two cameras gives the ability to have one possibly shooting the person from the front, and then the second may be being farther way from the side going simultaneously.  That way when you are editing you can switch between the shots from each camera angle to give some style.
To edit it is simple.  Import your footage from each camera and then drop the footage from one camera into one timeline and then drag and drop the footage of the second camera into the other  timeline.  Whatever is in the top layer or timeline is going to be what you see, so if you want something in the lower timeline to show you will have to make sure nothing is above it.  This is a very simple approach to get you going.
I'm assuming that you do not have much equipment from your question and you are just starting out. So the next step you will need to do is to synch up the sound on your clips from one camera with the other as best you can.  But if you are going to be doing a lot of this, you want to do some homework and study up as you will want to have your cameras synched up with timecode and you will want to be shooting with this in mind and investing a few bucks is well worth the cost.
    Good luck.

  • How to comunicate with external services which needs to  authorizated

    Hi,
I hope i describe the problem cleary.
Let say we have any oracle job (any plsql procedure) which needs to connect to ftp or smtp where is needed login/password authorization.
How can i do it? Or where I can save crendentials when I dont want to write it direct to job?
And how to do it in opposite manner? When i need to connet from os script to database?
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Tom

For file transfer the best option is to use scp, then you use keys instead of username/password.
SMTP can be configured with no password. If it requires username/password then you can keep them in an encrypted plsql package, or an encrypted table.

  • How detect differences with 2 disk images

I would like to know a mode to compare two disk images (dmg). I search for a program that informed what it is of different between two images. To compare an old image of backup with a new.

I agree with you and have images from 1Mb JPG's to 300Mb scans in one of the libraries.... mainly 25Mb digital RAW images.
I use referenced images to provide volume growth and ease of archiving (for me). Aperture appears most impacted by # images in a project size rather than # images > library. Library size has had non-discernible impact whether library is 12Gb or 120Gb.
But projects (under v1.x as I've not really pushed it in v2) created obvious slow-downs around 9,000 images and became glacial at 9,800 images. Maybe somebody can comment on v2.x performance.

  • QT still stuttering - How to talk with a real person at Apple about it

Does anyone know how I can get a hold of someone at Apple ( like a real person to talk to )? I’m a PC guy and have never had this much trouble figuring out anything before. All I wanted to do was d’load a song - legally. I got ITUNES>made an account> looked up a song> and it played like crap ( stuttering ), So, I bought the song thinking I could put it on another machine and play it ( nope, not authorized ) So, I’m stuck with a .99 cent piece of crap. The amazing thing is THIS HAPPENED 6 MONTHS AGO. I have listen to hundreds of folks here grope around in the dark, some having success some not, without a peep from Apple. Is this how they operate? If it is, I’m sure not seeing why they have a such rapid fan base.
Plan and simple – I need to talk to a live person NOW. I have been through the boards at nausea have tried everything posted ( and I do mean everything, more then once too ) and now I plan to get my .99 cents back because I don’t believe Apple is up to the task of fixing this customers problem.

  • Controlling a digital PWM output with a PID control - Need ideas

    Here is the scenario.
Am using LV 8.6 to run a test stand.  I special product needs to be tested at certain levels of [brushless] motor power consumption (watts).
The power consumption is manipulated by adjusting the PWM of the onboard controller using a pulsed logic signal. (using a counter/timer @ 20kHz tuning to between ~20 to 100% duty cycle)
I then read the current from the primary power supply and calculate the motor power consumption. Then feed this into a PID function and I use the ouput value to adjust the PWM input up or down.  I am running the output through some math to get an adjustment that isn't severe so it doesn't just reciprocate the level from high end to low end.
I am using the advanced PID function to try and tweak the control to be smooth and accurate.  It seems that even tiny changes in the PID values, specially the integral and derivative have a huge impact on the output.
Another option I have used before and am likely to have to use on this is to be able to select a different set of PID (and perhaps other) values dependent on the wattage range I am trying to achieve. This may go further and also be dependent on the driving voltage.  I am using this technique to select PID values for a third party pressure regulator (Tescom ER3000) and it works very well. Depending on the pressure range I need to achieve, I use different PID values to optimize the response.
Anyhow, I have attached the code and am just looking for any thoughts or ideas from anyone who has experience with the PID functions that might shorten my development time some.
I could upgrade to the latest version if there is a justifiable reason that would help me with this particular condition but as it would be a change on the test system, I would have to perform some level of re-validation and I don't want to spend time doing that if I don't have to.
     Thanks for any assistance

Wattage Control Loop Trial.vi ‏20 KB

OK, I decided to regroup a little on this.  I started by reviewing the basic approach of the Ziegler-Nichols formulas and found a short tutorial that in layman terms, gave me a process for the tuning.  I did indeed start out with no integral or derivative values and adjusted the proportional value up and down until I got a smooth change with virtually no oscillation.
It seemed at this point, making adjustments to the Int. or Der. actually worsened my response. Even miniscule values in the range of .0001 - .0005 would have a detrimental effect.
I also went through and did an iteration modifying the input to a percentage and the output from a percentage and it really ended up doing about the same thing as entering the set point directly and using my little math sequence to manipulate the output.
Back to the root of things, by using just the Pro., I can get a relatively smooth, albeit slower than desired, transition to the desired set point.  This is as long as the motor [air pump] is under no loading.  As soon as I start to add load, I get significant oscillation at the beginning and it is much slower in finally leveling out.  Because I have to start and stop the pump as we3ll as open and close valves during the test sequence, there is a lot of load changing that occurs during the sequence and if my set point response for this variable is too slow, it affects the results of my other readings during the test (air flow, back pressure, etc.)
I have not tried the built in auto tuning sequence yet but my gut tells me this will not work since I am intentionally modifying my process and conditions throughout the test.
You mentioned that perhaps PID was not my best option.  I’m not sure what other options are available unless I create my own pseudo PID routine.  I could certainly do this but am not sure it would be as efficient as the built in PID functions.
Making slow progress but still accepting ideas…..
    Thanks

  • Need advice about new project!!

I come from a dvd background and more recently a online video background (lost of h.264 stuff).
I have a client who would like me to do a training DVD-ROM.
    Shoot the footage - easy
Edit the multi cams - easy
Add screen shots of the software and change the dimentions to 1024x768 - pain in the butt, but can do
Here is where I get stuck; where to do I go from here?
Whats the best export (for playback on many computers)?
Do I make my front end with director (never used before but familiar with adobe software)?
    Flash? mov? Mpeg?
    I'm a little confused.
I'm still in the brainstorming phase so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Did i mention that the software screen captures need to be "good" quality (according to the clients tastes)

No the project will be not be interactive, it will run just like a regular dvd (except for the bigger dimetions - 1024 X 768).
And Yes DVD would be my first choice (and is my best suggestion) but DVD-ROM is what he wants.
If only everyone understood video editing........if only I understood editing haha

  • Need idea about table index

    Hi all,
could someone please advise me tool for definition of needed index? In other words, I got query with "table access full", because one of tables doesn't have any indexes, so I should know what index would be the best to create. I don't say that "table access full" is always evil, but I guess index can possibly improve performance.

best indexes include the most frequently used columns in the ON (Join) and WHERE clauses. With no index, it can only do a FTS.
create an index in a test environment
    set autotrace traceonly explain;
select.... from table where <indexed col> etc..
set autotrace off -- to turn it off...
--REPEAT this sequence until you have the plan you expect
Using this autotrace does not actually execute the query (no rows retrieved). Review the output looking for ACCESS method vs. FILTER method

  • How can I achieve a professional quality filming style/look with the iPhone camera?

Hey everyone!  So, as a fun experiment I'm starting to play with my iPhone 4S camera and am interested in seeing if I can achieve some specific styles of filming.  Specifically, I'm looking to get a Spielberg-esque feel in a short film I want to make, which J. J. Abrams nailed in 2011's Super 8.  I'm also a big fan of The Rocketeer, which also has a classic Spielberg feel to it, and was curious what it would take to achieve that style.  Finally, in terms of more modern styles, I love the clean looks of movies like Captain America and even The Amazing Spider-Man, which I know what shot on a Red Epic.  And before I forget, even though I know both Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder use film, is there any way to pull off what they did on The Dark Knight trilogy or Man of Steel?  Man of Steel especially had some cool Terrence Malick Tree of Life-esque shots I liked as well.
I'm really just looking for what I can do to film it like them, and then what I'd need to utilize in post-production to further solidify these styles.  I know apps like Filmic Pro have been suggested, and right now I'm only using iMovie in post, but any further ideas are welcome.  Thanks!

you're  listing movies, made by hundreds of professionals with 100s mio of dollars - and you like to accomplish the same 'look' with a mobile phone … ? hmmm ........
    basicly …
    a) Photography
The 'cameraman' is for good reasons called Director of Photography - s/he studied for years, how to paint with light. There's a Emmy-awarded documentary, I like to recommend beginners like you, spend 3 hours watching them both: Zacuto Camera Shootout I  and Zacuto Camera Shootout II
You learn just by watching a lot about what a DoP is looking at.
'Spoiler': In ptII/The Revenge one 'camera' is an iPhone.
… but operated by a professional! He knows the limitations of such a device, e.g. the poor 4 f-stops, it delivers etc etc ....
NONE of your listed movies uses 'existing/ambient light', it's all 'made'.-
    b) Grading
ColorGradingCentral offers 15 free tutorials for FCPX … meant as a start.
It also offers tutorials for the pro-grading tool DaVinciResolve …
NONE of your listed movies shows 'real' light, all are 'graded'.-
    Last word:
It's not the device, it's the one handling it who creates art/quality.
So, use tons of light, use it wisely, grade your movies with years of experience - done.
Or, use the tons of ready-made plugins (a good source for free ones here) avail for FCPX to give your material 'looks'.
But it will never look as Spielberg-ish as you want
... if there's a one-click-done solution, be sure, Christopher Nolan wouldn't spend hundreds of Millions of Dollars for his movies ...

  • How to deal with images when detecting/resizing screen?

    Hi there,
I am trying to learn how to detect screen resolution and
resize a flash movie to those dimensions. The one thing I'm
wondering first is, how to deal with images in the movie.
Do I need a variety of different movie sizes that I serve up
depending on the resolution, or is there some way of linking to
higher rez image that can be scaled down to fit the screen?
    Thanks!

as far as I know this has always been a bit of an issue when
    using
images inside a scaled movie. If you display a high res image
    inside a
scaled down movie, flash can't "reoptimize" it so the image
    looks
jagged. Of course the other way around is even worse..
Serving images based on the screen res could be possible if
    you detect
it using javascript but could be a night mare to maintain and
    test it...
I guess the questions I would ask myselkf are:
    1. what is my audience? What resolution the majority of them
    will have?
    2. Is there anyway I can keep the image size fixed, and scale
    to fit he
    rest of the design?
    3. How much time do I have to implement the customized
    version?
It really depends on your project..but to answer to your
    quuestion yes
    you can detect.
    http://www.pageresource.com/jscript/jscreen.htm
and your flash will have to interpret and load images from
    different
directories based on the var passed
