How did CoolChaser get on my browser & how do I get rid of it?

While searching for an answer to this problem, which I am also having, I realized coolchaser might be attached to my "Gamers Unite" toolbar I have installed for FarmVille on facebook. No idea why it occasionally pops up in my browser though. Might have been one of those 'automatically installed' programs that came with the toolbar.

All you are seeing is the word space (from the spacebar).
Menu > View > Hide Invisibles you had Show Invisibles on.
When you are using a template it should be named "Untitled" and it will ask you to save when you go to close or you simply go to Save under the File menu.

How did 5,000 of a total stranger's photos get on my computer?

Went into my iPhoto today and found 5,000 photos from a total stranger on my computer. My computer is password locked and I live in an apartment, so I don't think someone broke in, hooked a digital camera up to my computer and downloaded their photos onto it. Five thousand is a lot of photos.
I'm thinking iPhoto/iWeb is the culprit...has anyone else ever had this happen? The name is totally unfamiliar to me.

I don't generally run on a wireless network, but am currently at a hotel which has wireless. At home, I usually run on my cable modem, though I then access that through a wireless router so I can take my laptop anywhere in the house and still access the Internet and my email.
The photos are in my iPhoto library...I checked the preferences and saw that "look for shared photos" was checked (that must be the default, because I don't recall checking it). The file disappeared when I un-selected that. Does that mean they're not actually on my computer?
My greatest concern, which is probably catastrophizing, is that someone has somehow hacked into my computer while I was online and off doing other things...

MUTE - How did I do that? And how do I turn it off...

Any help solving this one appreciated.
I placed some music on my phone - the very first time I have placed it on there - When at home I thought I would check out the player and turned it on (via speakers - not headphones) and without knowing have pressed something which 'muted' the music. I have no idea how to get the music to play out loud and have tried many options and pressed about every possible button I can.
Now - before you say - the 'volume buttons' on the side of the phone - That does not seem to reverse the mute.
I can still hear my phone ring - I can still talk to others - its only the music player that does not seem to play out loud. Headphones as well - when they are plugged in - still nothing.
Any help here appreciated.

Remove the battery for a few minutes then replaced it & try. You can't do a format(not an s60 series), but if you could put it to factory default it worth a try. What's your phone model?

I, recently, purchased a new HP 4500 Printer and it came with a video-capture extension/plugin. Attempting to use it, the program informed me that I needed to be using, either, an EI or a Firefox Browser mentioning version 1.5 {I think it was} or later. The Firefox browser I was using was 3.something; so, everything was going along FINE. When I installed the video capture program, it added the plugin to the browser ~ PERFECTLY!!! I, also, had MANY other plugins that worked and that I used somewhat regularly!!! NOT ANY MORE!!! YOU and your TOTALLY INEPT, WISHTHEYWUZ "PROGRAMMERS" have STOLEN nearly HALF of my COMPUTER!!! I can, no longer, USE ANY OF THOSE PLUGINS, simply, because YOU "forgot" {let's say} to INCLUDE them in your new browser version 4. WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THEM??? I have no idea why Apple is using this name as my Alias on everything. It's not something I would have ever chosen, so it must have been taken from a form somewhere. Questions:
1) Where did it come from?
2) How can I change it?
3) If I can't change it, why not?

#1 - Don't know. Perhaps if your machine is a used one, the previous owner has autofill set in the browser with that for the name field. Or, if it is your name, if you did not specify something else as an alias it probably grabbed your name.
#2 - You can't.
#3 - Because the forum software will not permit the change of an alias for anyone. Once an account has been created, the alias is locked for that account. You can change the associated email address and password, but not the alias.
#4 - You can't. Once an account has been created it exists, and can not be made to not-exist.
What you can do, though, is to no longer use that one. Create a new account, insert the alias you prefer, and let the old one age off into pages where no one looks.

Once the menus are back, you can use the View menu, then select Toolbars and click on the names of the toolbars to toggle displaying them.

They will only be where you put them If you are doing the very basics, then they will be on your computer and they will be in your backup copy of your computer.
The itunes store is not global at all, never has been. You cannot redownload your content from another country. You can only use the countrys itunes store for the country that you are physically located.

(The x64 would most likely mean 64 bit). It may be a Windows based application/plugin, but since I had never heard of either, I'm only guessing there. If you do a search systemwide for it and don't find it plus don't know why it's there, I'd say throw it in the trash (don't empty it yet - make a note of the file path just in case you do have something installed that needs it so you can move it back).
Glad to hear it's not a torrent; some people use those not realizing that quite often there is a price to pay for downloading stuff for free that costs money elsewhere - the software packages quite often include little "add-ons" = malware which you really don't want.

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

First, back up your old iphone manually:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your old phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

How DID I get this much data on my iPod Touch 1st gen?

ITunes on my brand new MacBook Pro shows 3762 songs at 62.84 GB with 99.9999% of them being AAC encoded.
My 1st gen 32GB iPod Touch holds ALL of that data, plus 210 apps -- and everything works/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png Select any song at random and it will play. Select any app and it will run/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic__ _/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png 62.84GB of songs on a 32GB Touch?? How did I do that? Plus, it STILL has 6.7GB available/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsst atic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png It's running iOS 3.1.3. I've added songs and apps over the years without any problems whatsoever.
My wife has a 30GB iPod Video White (5th gen) -- it has 4342 songs, with 9.4GB still available/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png I loaded everything I had in my iTunes, and she's been adding songs on her own. So hers ALSO has more GBs of songs on it than it was made to hold. And hers works fine as well.
Now we get a brand new up-to-date 32GB iPod Touch 4th gen (Retina Display, FaceTime, etc). It's the latest and greatest (she got it through an employee incentive point plan at Boeing). I wasn't even thinking about how much data was in the 1st gen Touch -- my brain was just saying I've got all my songs and apps in my 1st gen, so I should be able to get all of it in the new 4th gen model. They're both 32GB, and the overhead (system, etc), is almost identical (okay, the 1st gen had 29+GB free and the 4th gen has 28+GB free). Still, pretty comparable.
I tried to sync iTunes with the new 4th gen iPod Touch and it says only about 1500 songs (of the 3762 total) can be loaded. That's it. No more/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png That would also mean NO apps at all.
We tried to get this explained at a One-to-One meeting AND the Genius Bar at our local Apple Store, but NOBODY had an answer.
How is it that my old 1st gen 32GB Touch can hold more than twice the GB of songs AND 210 apps at the same time, and work, while the new 4th gen Touch is doing "sorta" what's expected of it -- that is, running out of space with only 1500 songs
One possibility is that both old iPod's began their lives under iTunes 9.x. But I've updated iTunes consistently as it has moved into v10 and both older models have had apps and music added using whatever the latest version of iTunes has been released.
Could that be the reason? Has anybody heard of this before? Can anybody explain it? The guys at the store were stumped. So am I. They "apologized" and said they understood how we felt, but there wasn't any resolution to the question. Other than -- DON'T mess with the old models as long as they are working Yeah, but I'd like to see the NEW model behave the same Wouldn't we all?

No, the option you mention is/was NOT checked. When I talked to two people at the Apple store (One-to-One) and the Genius Bar, they said that it was correctly set (that is, NOT checked), considering the files were ALREADY AAC encoded.
As I posted, pretty much all of the songs are already encoded as AAC files. They have all been captured off CD's in that format, or purchased from iTunes in that format. They were transferred to the 1st gen Touch in that format, and the attempt was made to make the exact same transfer to the new 4th gen Touch in the exact same format -- with the result that barely half would transfer over to the new Touch.
One would think that it might be set one way for the older model and one way for the newer, but that's not the case. As an FYI, I DID try checking that option after the first failure of getting everything to load, but it didn't make any difference.

Check the songs are really not in the Music section of the library by clicking the magnifying glass in the search box and unticking Search Entire Library if it is ticked, then typing in the name of the album. If the tracks still don't show try closing iTunes and deleting a hidden file called sentinel from inside your iTunes folder. This should make iTunes run an integrity check on the database when you start it again. Make sure the tracks are checked before you try syncing again.
