How Did I Burn This Weird Disk ?

In another post I described how I had come across a weird DVD I had made a year ago that would not play in anything. When put in the Mac and double-clicked it displayed a Video_RM and a Video_TS folder - BOTH EMPTY!
Yet on using "Get Info" it was revealed there was 3.7GB of video on the disk.
PT showed me how to play it by using the "Open Video_TS Folder" command.
However, the other puzzle remains. Why was there a Video_RM and a Video _TS folder both apparently empty?
Also how did I burn this weird disk? It is actually a copy of a standalone DVD Recorder disk.
I believe I used Disk Utility to burn it, but why can I only access the video by using the “Open Video_TS” command in DVD Player?

my guess is, this is a non-finalized dvd...
after recording which such a device, in many cases you have to finalize the disk ... that has to be ignited "manually" (on my Pionerr standalone....)
a videoDVD within specs has two folders VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS (which is empty, because only in use for socalled SuperAudio disks....)
inside the video_ts you normally find some .iso and .vob files, which contain the mpeg2 encoded audio+video... (you can rename a .vob to .mp2...)
video_rm seems to be something non-standard..
the "emptyness" is just a sign of your Finder, which has no clue, what this disk contains => the whole file-management is missing... like in a book without directory: the story is in, but you are not able to find a specific chapter...
you should have told us about the "from standalone" in your first post, I could have told you earlier...

You cannot burn your high resolution video that you can view on your computer to an AVCHD on DVD disc
that will replay through a regular DVD player. But players are marketed under a variety of names with
different support opportunities. One manufacturer may call its product MultiMedia Player, media player, Blu-ray player,
etc.The bottom line is the specifications for each of the players that are candidates for the playback of
the AVCHD format on DVD disc or the format of interest.
If you upload your HD (1920 x 1080) video to YouTube, YouTube converts the video to flash format, but it goes up as the HD video.
But, beware. Look at the YouTube viewing setting when your uploaded video is playing back. The YouTube default is not
HD. It might be 360p, 480p. If you have a 1080p video, then before the YouTube playback, you should be looking
at the video with the YouTube 1080p HD setting for best viewing. That is a YouTube matter.
Best results depend on you
a. setting up the Premiere Elements project preset to match the properties of the source media. That means, if
you have 1080p source, you (manually) or the project (automatically) set the project preset at
NTSC
DSLR
1080p
DSLR [email protected]
or the PAL counterpart, depending on your region need.
b. if you upload your video to YouTube using the Premiere Elements feature, there is a HD preset, but you cannot
customize it.....if you need customization, then you can export your Timeline to a file...in this example

AVCHD
with Presets = MP4 H.264 1920 x 1080p30 or PAL counterpart
and then customize the preset under the Advanced Button/Video Tab of that preset. In increase quality, you might look to increase
the Bitrate under Advanced Button/Video Tab settings - without compromising the file size.
Then you would upload that file to YouTube at the YouTube web site.
All of the above are factors that need looking into in order to determine the why for what you wrote

How do I burn this audio book?

I have a audio book, in the main / only folder, it has 14 folders each labeled cd1, cd 2, cd3, all the way up to cd14.
Each folder has a number of mp3 files in it from 18 - 22 in number.
Each cd folder is approx 40 mb in size & each mp3 file is about 2.5 mb each.
How do I burn this and how many folders can I fit on 1 cd?

14 folders each about 40MB is about 560MB total. Most blank CDs can hold 700MB. So in that sense, you only need one CD.

Hi folks. I'm just designing for Flex, so I dont know any code or anything like that. I'm doing a Photoshop mockup of a Flex design. I'm new to Flex, so this might be a noob question.

Yes, if it's a Spark application. Components have skins. Spark component skins can contain fxg graphics. The programmer will have to create a new skin for the application component.
You should check out Flash Catalyst. It's a tool for creating Flex application designs without writing code.
You create the design and send the Catalyst project to the programmer

It's a simple effect filter you can apply.

How did I do THIS???

Somehow, and I've still not figured out what I did, or if this is a possible bug(and I was on the phone to an Apple Logic Tech, earlier today, for the better part of an hour, and he couldn't solve it), I managed to make, in the Inspector, on the right hand channel strip, the 'destination' strip, you'd call it, for most of its use,,,I managed to make everything above the part that reads 'In-Out' disappear. All of the insert slots just went walkabout. I was playing with synths last night, and using the Library to access the settings, and I'm suspecting that, or something that I inadvertantly did in 'environment,' but nothing I do can get these to show themselves again, to come back. The fader and pan work ok(I wouldn't use pan on that), but I had an EQ and a limiter and a comp, too, maybe, I forget,,,things you'd use on that strip. Oddest thing.
I did pitch a bunch of unused files associated with the tune, but, I did it 'in the bin' as advised by the manual(the big manual), and really don't see how doing that would make these insert slots disappear. They are also missing on the corresponding 'In-Out' channel strip in the mixer window.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for any assistance. I'm not so worried about damage to the tune, as I am that this might happen again, and for the fact I'm unable to figure out what caused it, and how to cure it.
Anyone have this happen to them? Should I re-install from the first disk, maybe? I'm a little chary of that. but others may know more about this. Screenset settings in subsequent new windows seem to have been affected, though they are properly intact in the window where the inserts are missing. Unless the screensets are template dependant, which they appear to be in some cases, I'm wondering if something is awry here, too. Of course, I'm keeping the
mystery project up, just so I can import the intact screenset settings from that one into others where I want the full nine that that window originally came with and still has. Most curious.
I realize that Logic Pro 7 users are used to only one window in the inspector, so this would be endemic to the new Logic Pro 8 only.

Before doing anything labor intensive, try removing the plist file for the Dock:
"/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist"
Then restart. See if things are back to normal.

How DID I get this much data on my iPod Touch 1st gen?

ITunes on my brand new MacBook Pro shows 3762 songs at 62.84 GB with 99.9999% of them being AAC encoded.
My 1st gen 32GB iPod Touch holds ALL of that data, plus 210 apps -- and everything works/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png Select any song at random and it will play. Select any app and it will run/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic__ _/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png 62.84GB of songs on a 32GB Touch?? How did I do that? Plus, it STILL has 6.7GB available/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsst atic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png It's running iOS 3.1.3. I've added songs and apps over the years without any problems whatsoever.
My wife has a 30GB iPod Video White (5th gen) -- it has 4342 songs, with 9.4GB still available/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png I loaded everything I had in my iTunes, and she's been adding songs on her own. So hers ALSO has more GBs of songs on it than it was made to hold. And hers works fine as well.
Now we get a brand new up-to-date 32GB iPod Touch 4th gen (Retina Display, FaceTime, etc). It's the latest and greatest (she got it through an employee incentive point plan at Boeing). I wasn't even thinking about how much data was in the 1st gen Touch -- my brain was just saying I've got all my songs and apps in my 1st gen, so I should be able to get all of it in the new 4th gen model. They're both 32GB, and the overhead (system, etc), is almost identical (okay, the 1st gen had 29+GB free and the 4th gen has 28+GB free). Still, pretty comparable.
I tried to sync iTunes with the new 4th gen iPod Touch and it says only about 1500 songs (of the 3762 total) can be loaded. That's it. No more/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png That would also mean NO apps at all.
We tried to get this explained at a One-to-One meeting AND the Genius Bar at our local Apple Store, but NOBODY had an answer.
How is it that my old 1st gen 32GB Touch can hold more than twice the GB of songs AND 210 apps at the same time, and work, while the new 4th gen Touch is doing "sorta" what's expected of it -- that is, running out of space with only 1500 songs
One possibility is that both old iPod's began their lives under iTunes 9.x. But I've updated iTunes consistently as it has moved into v10 and both older models have had apps and music added using whatever the latest version of iTunes has been released.
Could that be the reason? Has anybody heard of this before? Can anybody explain it? The guys at the store were stumped. So am I. They "apologized" and said they understood how we felt, but there wasn't any resolution to the question. Other than -- DON'T mess with the old models as long as they are working Yeah, but I'd like to see the NEW model behave the same Wouldn't we all?

No, the option you mention is/was NOT checked. When I talked to two people at the Apple store (One-to-One) and the Genius Bar, they said that it was correctly set (that is, NOT checked), considering the files were ALREADY AAC encoded.
As I posted, pretty much all of the songs are already encoded as AAC files. They have all been captured off CD's in that format, or purchased from iTunes in that format. They were transferred to the 1st gen Touch in that format, and the attempt was made to make the exact same transfer to the new 4th gen Touch in the exact same format -- with the result that barely half would transfer over to the new Touch.
One would think that it might be set one way for the older model and one way for the newer, but that's not the case. As an FYI, I DID try checking that option after the first failure of getting everything to load, but it didn't make any difference.

If you didnt get recovery DVD and if you have HDDRecovery folder on second partition, that means your notebook is delivered with HDD image only.
You can create recovery media using Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator. The shortcut should be placed on the desktop.
I have done this several times on different models successfully using all the time Verbatim or TDK DVD-R media.

How do you burn project as Disk Utility?

I have been getting an error message #6 (0x29,0x00) on every project I try to burn to my external LaCie burner. I have burned several projects on it before. I have been doing all the things that the pros on this site say to do,delete idvdplist, clear caches,set iDVD preferences, and I saved project as a disk image, and tried to burn the project IMG as a disk utility, but I kept getting this: a stop sign, and it said: The device failed to respond properly, unable to recover or retry. What should I do next?

IBM System x3100M5 - ESXi5.5
Nothing spectacular about the install. Configured 1Tb RAID5 set and installed ESXi5,5 from CD.
Quite likely that I had a USB drive, which I keep a lot of various helpful files/Doco's, attached to somewhere on the server when I installed ESXi
Have relocated the server to customer site when completed and all booted OK.
A few weeks later relocated server to newly built 'server' room all booted OK.
On the weekend there was a power failure and server refused to boot.
'Failed to boot ESXi5.5' error then would start a version of ESXi5.5 but everything blank (IP Addy set to 0.0.0.0)
Would reconfigure network but could not connect via vSphere and rebooting did exactly same thing. (IP 0.0.0.0 etc)
Boot order was as follows:
ESXi5,5 (PciRoot (0x0) /Pci(0x1D.0x0) /USB(0x0,0x0) /USB (0x4,0x0)
HDD0
HDD1
CDROM
I assumed that the server, when I installed it, somehow hooked to the USB drive that I carry around, however, when I tried it in every port and rebooting, it wouldn't work.
I removed everything back to HDD0 and this was the versions which was setting everything back to IP address of 0.0.0.0 and wouldn't allow me to reconfigure and save.
In the end I tried an upgrade to HDD0 but no change. Started a fresh install on HDD0, preserving datastore, but chickened out when presented with a final warning that the 'existing partitions will be repartitioned, and didn't want to lose the hosts I had on the datastore so installed it onto a second USB drive. Configured UEFI to point to correct boot efi and server started. Configured network and booted up OK. Attached vmx files to inventory and servers booted OK. Everything is back online.
So my questions are:
What did I do wrong in the first place that allowed it to hook to the USB drive? Just by having it attached to the server?
How likely is it that I also plugged the USB drive, every time I moved the server, in exactly the same port I took it out from - I would suggest unlikely and, to be honest, I don't think I had the drive attached every time I powered on the server?
Why was there a version on HDD0 which wouldn't allow me to configure it or attach to it via vSphere?
If I install a new install of the ESXi5.5 onto HDD0, when it warns that it wants to repartition, will I lose the existing datastore even when I opt for the preserve option? I don't want to continue running off this USB drive in preference.
More of a discussion to see if others have experienced something similar and to try and see what I did wrong so I don't repeat it.
