How did Media Sharing Cable download unknowingly to my MacBook Pro?
Just recently I discovered a "Media Sharing Cable" software program along with my usual folders (music, pictures, downloads, etc) in my Finder. It says it is an app that was installed before I even purchased my MacBook Pro but I have never noticed it before today. When I open the program, it has all my folders such as contacts, pictures, and music in it. I did not download this. I threw it in the trash and it deleted without a problem. I Googled it and came up with almost nothing but saw it on the Mac Informer website with no additional information. Where did this come from? Anyone have the same problem? Thanks.
Curious if you have had any issues in the subsequent two years? I just came across this same issue and am afrait that if I delete (as you did), I'll screw up synching w my exernal HDD or other peripherals.

Typically there are a couple of ways.
1. What you did followed by emptying the trash, and
2. Use the uninstaller that may have been bundled in the package.
If available, you should run the uninstaller provided by the application.

Thanks!What Carolyn says is correct. You can, however, share an Internet connection with your iPhone wirelessly by turning in Internet sharing (found in System Preferences > Sharing.) If your MacBook Pro is already using a wireless connection, you can just connect to the same wireless network it is using.

Went through this step-by-step, but alas it did not solve the problem. For some reason I can download mail on my Macbook Pro and iPhone, but no my iMac. Connection Doctor shows all green lights. This started today when I was prompted to re-enter incoming mail server passwords. I re-entered passowrds yet again to make sure they were correct. Rebuilt the inBox. Connection Doctor continues to show all green lights, but am still unable to download mail to the inbox. Has anyone else ever run into this problem?
I have the exact same problem trying to use the Remote app on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 with either my Mac or ATV2. My Remote app used to work on my phone - I can't recall if I ever actually used it with my iPad, but when I tried today, I got all the same results as you did (on both iPad, and then iPhone). I was using my ATV2 to play music from iTunes on my Mac and wanted to use the Remote app, but it would not connect to either device no matter what I did.

Whenever you transfer something from one drive or volume to another, it is copied and the original remains where it was no matter the method you use. It is so by design: just in case you were to delete it on the one drive, you still have it on the other. However, if you no longer want the original, simply delete it and empty the trash.

A FW cable would be far faster & Easier, but with Ethernet you need a compatible version of Migration Assistant running on both Macs.

What version are you talking about and have you got the serial number?
If you want to install version 11 then you can download from Adobe website and use your serial number to activate it. The only problem I can see is that your serial number might be for a windows system and I don't know if it would work on a Mac. However, it is worth a try.
You are allowed 2 installations simultaneously so you should be OK in this respect.
