here i've seen a flex calendar (go to 1.49 minute) they have a weekly view of the calendar. I would like to know how they did this. Please it is urgent.!!

Our component is designed to be extensible. To make it look like it does in the video, you'd have tocreate a custom dayRenderer to displays and styles your data elements.

Hi everyone!
I'm trying to duplicate the effect on layer 2 so I can apply it to different text layers. (please see attached file below) Instead of "You", I want to write "Get". When I change the text to "Get" I want to make sure layer 2 changes to "Get" as well. I'm lost because I don't know how to do it.

In attached file I created a SO of the text-layer, duplicated it and applied a different Layerstyle to that.
To change the text one can open the SO (by double-clicking its symbol in the Layers Panel), make the changes and save it. -
Hi folks. I'm just designing for Flex, so I dont know any code or anything like that. I'm doing a Photoshop mockup of a Flex design. I'm new to Flex, so this might be a noob question.
In the flex style explorer I noticed some nice looking curved highlights at the top of the containers.
How did they do this?Could I put an FXG inside an application controlbar as well?
Yes, if it's a Spark application. Components have skins. Spark component skins can contain fxg graphics. The programmer will have to create a new skin for the application component.
You should check out Flash Catalyst. It's a tool for creating Flex application designs without writing code.
You create the design and send the Catalyst project to the programmer
The programmer imports the poroject and writes the code -
Rounded corners in Ubuntu - how did they do this?
In the latest Ubuntu 6.10 there are all corners rounded.

metacity can grab colours from GTK. take a look at the edges of the menu bar and all that spacing, metacity is using a wide border to allow it to be rounded, and grabbing the GTK theme's colour to appear seamless.

Their big image on the right starts off at 806K but when you check the load time of it on UIT it shows less than 30K with a really fast load time.
When I optimize my test image I can get it down to about 125K- real slow and doesn't look great.
So then I thought I could link it to Photobucket - loads just as slow.

How did they do this effect in photoshop?
I love this effect, but cannot figure out how they made these darker brown lines around their tables (kind of a whisked broken up lines) around their tables. I have tried every brush tool and effect I could think of, but know need to ask the experts! Thank you very much in advance. Buffmin
here is the link.....Looks to me like the table borders are separate partially transparent GIF files.

Just a guess, but they may have made an image with texture, then painted on a mask to make it transparent. The trick is positioning it in the HTML so that it overlays the background and properly aligns with the text.

thanksUse the bezier tool to create your shapes, give the shapes an Airbrush outline. Then apply a Write On behavior to each shape. Position the shapes in the timeline so they appear sequentially. To achieve the zooming out effect, you can either scale the whole group, or convert the group to 3D and use the camera to zoom out.
