How do arrange my music library on my ipod

Hello.
1.  I need help arranging my songs on my ipod touch. For example if I download songs with tracks 1-15 from my pc, it syncs into my ipod but disarranges the song like 1,3,6,10. Instead of the tracks in orther of 1-15.
2. Also I have some CDs that I download to my itunes on my computer that itunes does not recognize its title. Is it possible for me to name it before I rip it? Because if i do not name it, its downloaded as generic track 1 and im not able to differentiate the songs. I don't know if im making sense but I am frustrated with my ipod because I cannot arrange it the way I would like.
3. I will also like to know how to delete duplicated songs or generraly songs that i do not want  off my Ipod
Thank you very much.

I think you want to show the playlist in playlist order.  This is not necessarily the order the songs were added to a playlist, because you can drag songs around on the playlist to change the playlist order.  However, if you simply added songs and never change their order, I guess they would be in the order they were added to the playlist.
NOTE:  You can sort the playlist using the column headings.  So, to sort by song name alphabetically, click on Name.  To sort by artist, click on Artist.  And so on...  This is for viewing the list.  It does not change the playlist order.
To show the playlist in playlist order, on the "headings row" of the playlist, where the column headings (Name, Track, Artist, etc.) are shown, click on the "unlabeled area" that is above the column of sequential numbers (along the left side of the playlist).  This puts the playlist in playlist order, which is what I think you want.  If it shows songs from last to first instead of first to last, click it again.  You'll see the "tiny triangle" flip, and it will be first to last.

  • How to have different music library's on iPods using the same Apple ID

    Hello.
Me and my sister both have iPod 4th generations. Because of the timing of the purchases of our devices we use the same apple account. I would like to know how to have a different iTunes music library to her and if it will still keep the libraries separate.
    Please help.
    ~ Harry

The Apple support document How to use multiple iPods with one computer suggests a number of ways for managing the media content. I use method two (Sync with selected playlists) with a slight twist. Rather than regular playlists I set the grouping field to indicate which users should receive which tracks and create smart playlists based on the content of this field.
    e.g.
"Alice's Tracks" is "Grouping contains Alice" + "Kind contains audio"
"Bob's Videos" is "Grouping contains Bob" + "Kind does not contain audio"
Tracks that both Alice & Bob want on their iPods have the grouping set to "Alice/Bob"
    etc.
I currently manage our family's five iDevices using this system, each getting a different selection to suit their tastes and the capacity of their device. An advantage of using the grouping field is that it is stored in file tags (for non-wav audio files anyway) so that it is relatively easy to recreate the playlists should the iTunes library get trashed and need rebuilding. Also useful if you move files about manually as playlist membership is preserved when you delete & re-import the tracks.
To make sure your apps don't inadvertently merge turn off Automatically sync new apps from the apps tab when you connect your device.
Or you can opt for completely separate libraries... Disable automatic downloading of purchases and turn off the display of iTunes in the Cloud purchases from the Store menu. You still get the benefit of being able to freely download something the other has purchased that you also like.

  • How do I transfer music off of my ipod 30gb into my library?

How do I transfer music off of my ipod 30gb into my library?

If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers has been introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and it won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection (Yamipod has already been mentioned above), you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

You should be able to transfer iTunes purchases as described on the page that you posted from i.e. File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. For music from other sources (e.g CDs) then if you don't have them on a backup that you can copy them from, then there are some programs listed half-way down this page that might be able to copy them from the iPod : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

How do i get music off an old ipod classic into my windows 8 system when it doesn't find the ipod when i plug it into the usb?

    Hi aekdbaker ,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you have music on your iPod that you would like to transfer into your iTunes library on your Mac.
If those songs you wish to transfer were purchased, there are two different ways you can accomplish this. The first way, which does not even require you connecting your iPod to the computer, would be to re-download them from iTunes in the Cloud directly to your iTunes library. Directly connecting your iPod to your Mac to transfer purchases is an option as well. Instructions for both methods of gathering your past purchases in your iTunes library on your Mac are available in the attached article.

is it possible to transfer my whole music library from my ipod classic to a new computer?

    Hello there Alex-B,
It sounds like you have your music on your iPod classic and want to get it onto your new computers iTunes library. You can use this article to transfer your iTunes Store Purchases:
Re-download or transfer your iTunes Store purchases from an iPhone, iPad or iPod to a computer
For non purchased content, or content from other sources please note this:
This feature works only for content bought from the iTunes Store. Any items that you imported from audio CDs or received from other sources won't copy from your device to the iTunes library. However, all podcasts from your device's Podcasts app and copies of all PDFs and books from your device's iBooks app will transfer to the computer. Learn how to transfer media to your iTunes library.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
