How do authorize computers

I do not know how to authorize my computer to have my music allowed to play on my computer

Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs:  iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
  1. Open iTunes on a computer
  2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
  3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
  4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
  5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • How Can i De-authorize computers from my itunes account

as people may know it is only possible to have 5 computers authorized to play itunes music however how can i de-authorize computers i don't have anymore, or computers that been restored back to factory settings. as i have 4 registered but only have one computer in use

first of all you open up your itunes, go to itunes store and on the right side you should find "Account" click on that and log in, there should be a button right underneath Change Country, if you click that button, it should reset the authorization back to 0, and you have to re-authorize the computers that you use. If that button doesn't appear you might have to authorize another computer to make it 5 authorized, and then reset the authorization.

How can I get a list of authorize computers under an Apple ID?
How can I deauthorized a computers under an Apple ID if I do NOT have possession of that computer?
    Thanks

It's not currently possible to see a list of authorised computers, but if you have 2 or more computers authorised then, as described on the page that you posted from, you can log into your account on your computer's iTunes (Store > View My Account, Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need.
Deauthorising a computer doesn't remove any content from it, it just means that you won't be able to use iTunes downloads on it until you reauthorise it

  • How many different computers can i sync my ipod to and transfur music from?

how many different computers can i sync my ipod to and transfur music from? i am trying to sync my ipod to another laptop and add my music to that computer but i was wondering if there was a limit on how many computers you can do that with. thanks all.

You can authorize up to five computers for your iTunes purchases.
If manually managing your device you can add content from any library.
If automactially syncing content is managed from one library.
Purchased content can be transfered from a device into an authorised library, otherwise iTunes only transfers content to the device.

  • Help! I just got a new MacBook and I cannot figure out how to authorize it to play my purchased iTunes music.

    Hi!
I just got my new Macbook today (!!!) and I love it, but I can't figure out how to authorize this computer to play my purchased itunes music. I don't have any other computers authorized to play my purchased music, as I have de-authorized my previous computer. How do I authorize this new one? I know the FAQ section says to go to Store > Authorize computer, but I can't seem to find where this is located? I've never owned a Mac before.

Silly me... I didn't realize that the top of the screen changes as you change windows (unlike windows computers). Thank you so much for the help. I really appreciate it!

  • HT1420 The instructions on how to authorize a computer need links. I can't find store menu and I can't find authorize this computer.

Hi - Does someone know how to authorize a computer so it will play the songs you've bought from iTunes? I've wasted nearly two hours trying.  It all began when I tried to remove a previously authorized computer which broke down years ago.
Step 1 - Log in with apple ID, go into account and click the deauthorize computers button (that's what they tell you to do if you can't connect the broken computer to deauthorize it).  I managed that.
Result - Now it says I have no authorized computers. Fair enough.  Except I'm trying to reauthorize the one and only working computer we own so it plays the music we've previously bought, and so we can use the iTunes store credit we still have.
Step 2 - Try and reauthorize the working computer - the one I'm typing on - it was authorized earlier today - until I had to unauthorize it to remove the defunct computer  with that deauthorize all button.
Anyway the instructions to authorize/reauthorize a computer say, "Go to Store menu - then authorize this computer. " Sounds simple!
It's at this point I'm stuck - the instructions are insufficient for me.There are no links to redirect you to the correct place to authorize your computer. It just says to go to store and authorize this computer. When I press store it's connecting me to store but I can't find anything that says authorize this computer - I can just see album covers etc. On the right I can see our account but I can't find store menu or an authorize this computer button in that either. If I click on our account it says that we have no authorized devices or computers. I'm logged into our account with the correct apple ID - otherwise I wouldn't be able to read that we have no authorized computers would I? And I've logged in and out several times and tried to refresh the page.
Could someone please send me a link to the Store menu so I can click on the correct page then hopefully reauthorize our previously authorized computer. We are using Windows 7, but I don't know what version of itunes - it's a fairly recent version though.
I wish they would make removing and authorizing computers easier - can't they just put a button on the main screen or something?

  • De-authorization computers

How do I de-authorize computers I no longer have access to?

You can't deauthorise 'dead' installations or computers you no longer have access to individually. However once you reach the limit of 5 authorisations you have the option to deauthorise them all in one go from your iTunes account and start over. *Just note that you can only use this option once a year*: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation
Once you have all 5 authorisations used up, to deauthorise all computers associated with your account:
    1. Click iTunes Store in the Source pane.
    2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
    3. Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
    4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.

  • How to authorize my new computer for iTunes

how to authorize my new computer?

    Hi
The process to activate a computer in itunes is similar for Mac and Windows.
On the Mac OS X start iTunes. Click on Store in the menu bar and choose authorize this computer.  In the text Field enter your apple id username and password and click ok. You should receive a message stating “Including this one you have authorized X computers out of your available 5”, Where X is the number of devices you have authorized with your apple ID.
Please note that you can authorize maximum 5 computers with the same apple id.
That means you can play the content you purchased with that Apple ID on up to 5 computers.
The detailed information regarding how to authorize/deauthorize can be found at :

  • Help! -- How to deauthorize computers on iTunes

I re-installed my operating system, backup files, and iTunes. It says I have already authorized 5 computers with my account, and will delete my many apps unless I get authorised. I just use one laptop with iTunes.
How do I deauthorize the other computers? How do I do it without deleting my apps?

Sorry if this doesn't help :S. but from what you've asked, I've given all i know.
Hope you get things worked out!
