How do connect to internet with Leopard and Vista x64

After installing Leopard, then running Boot Camp and installing Windows Vista x64 I cannot connect to my router, either by Ethernet or Airport. Windows could not detect any wireless network when trying to set up a wireless router. When I try to connect to the router with an Ethernet cable I get an error message telling me to "The underlying Ethernet connectivity required for the broadband connection was not found. Please install and enable the Ethernet adapter on your computer via the Network Connections folder before attempting this connection. I know the router and the MacBook Pro are working because I can connect either with Ethernet or Airport when I am running Leopard. The router is a D Link WBR-2310.

It happened to me as well on Windows XP. I managed to get it to work by changing WEP password on the Airport to WPA/WPA Personal. It seems Windows is finicky about WEP set ups...

  • Getting static audio with Titanium and Vista x64 at random times

@Getting static audio with Titanium and Vista x64 at random times$ I have had this card for about 6-8 months and relati'vely no issues.
I just upgraded to the latest drivers 270006 and now, sometimes after exiting Turbine's Lotro, my audio plays but is very static-y, but it doesn't happen all the time. I had iTunes minimized when playing Lotro and then went to play a song after exiting. I quit iTunes and tried it again and it was ok.
This also happened in Firefox, a YouTube video had the same static audio.
It doesn't happen all the time and I do play other games, but I haven't been playing much else right now.
So right now I don't know if it's a Lotro thing or just the drivers.
    I have a Q9650, single GTX260, Asus P35 board (not SLI), Vista x64, 4GB.

Carl, do let us know on the Safe Mode test... would be the first thing I'd try with what you've mentioned, but yeah, daisy chained Hubs could possibly play into it.

  • How to connect to internet with sim 2 in XL

XL doesn't give option to connect internet with sim 2. When I turn on mobile data it always connect with sim 1. All time I have to go to settings to connect with sim 2 after connected with sim 1. Is there any way to choose sim when I'm turning on mobile data?

The user guide gives you this..
By default, your phone asks you which SIM to use for the connection. You can also set the default SIM for calls, messaging, and mobile data connections.
Select which SIM to use for calls and messaging
Tap Settings icon > Dual SIM.
    Switch Always ask to OFF.
Select which SIM to use for calls and messaging.
Select which SIM to use for mobile data connections
Tap Settings icon > Mobile data and networks, and select which SIM to use for mobile data connections.
    Availability of SIMs
You can use 2G or 3G SIMs in both SIM1 and SIM2 slots, but the SIM2 slot supports 2G network only.
When you set one SIM to be used for outgoing calls or messages, or for data connections, the other SIM can still receive calls or messages.
When one SIM is having an active connection, the other SIM is not available.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Problems connecting to internet with leopard

I am having two problems since installing Leopard . Initially everything seemed fine but now
1.It takes 30 sec or more when I wake up computer before the wireless mouse or keyboard come to life. Battery levels are fine
2.I have lost the internet connect icon from the dock. Can I get this back? I have an external modem connected via usb and when I click on the connect button it won't connect ,I have to remove the cable ,put it back in and then it connects for me.
I'm afraid that I don't know a great deal about computers so if any one can assist lay mans terms would be great.

Should have spent more time on the 10.6 Support site. This post solved my problem.
"Seems I found a workaround. I edited the network location by adding a new one. network came up instantly. DHCP took a bit but eventually came. Hope this helps."

  • How to connect to internet with out cable or telephone service

I presently have internet connection through AT&T, which requires a land line phone.
I would like to have internet connection and cell phone usage without cable or phone service.
Is there a device; and or a hook-up that will allow wireless internet connection??

The way I understand it is you can have a "dry" line to the internet where you can have DSL through AT & T without having phone service using the same line. I have had that in the past. I also have had cable internet service provided without having any cable TV service. It would be that or you would probably have to sign up for a mobile broadband card through one of the cell phone companies. Those you would pay somewhere between 50-75 bucks per month and would most likely get a device that plugs into a USB port. Unless you really like portability I would probably look for the dry DSL line or just get internet and no TV through the cable company.......

  • Printer not connected to internet - have pulled and reattached ISB with no change.

Printer not connected to internet - have pulled and reattached ISB with no change.

Is the printer connected to a network?  For any Internet functionality to be present on printers, the printer will need to have its own connection to the network.  It sounds like the printer only has a USB connection.
On the printer, go to Setup>Network>Print Network Configuration Page.
Does it have an IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS servers listed (other than 0.0.0.0 or 169.254.X.X)?  If so, then it is connected.  If not, then go to Setup>Network>Wireless Setup Wizard to connect to the wireless network.  This should get the printer connected provided there is a wireless network available.
What brand and model is the router (if one is present)?

  • Need step-by-step guide on how to connect Leopard and Vista

    Hi,
I have a desktop mac with Leopard and a PC notebook with VISTA. The Leopard has 2 network connections, the first is connected to my DSL router, the second is connected to the VISTA notebook.
What do I need to do to be able to:
    1) share the Internet connection
    2) access files from VISTA and Leopard?
Could you explain it as if you would to a 10-year old please? I'm really having trouble with this.

Ok. There are two ways to approach this.
    1. Buy a router, and connect both machines to the router. File sharing will be a breeze, and Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) won't be necessary.
    2. Attempt to connect the machines to each other via ICS. I suspect that File Sharing will not work well in this configuration, but we can test that after trying.
_*Choice 1. Buy a router*_ ($50-$60 in Australia for a Wireless G router with 4 ethernet ports)
Plug the router into the ZyXEL modem.
    Configure the router to connect.
Plug both Mac's into the router.
File sharing will work as soon as you enable it on both Macs (and in Vista).
    _*Choice 2. Use ICS*_
The trick here is that you are using two Ethernet connections on your PowerMac. I have used ICS for an Ethernet connected computer sharing via Airport, but never with both. (Do you have an Airport card in your PowerMac?)
There are risks to using an Ethernet connection at both ends of the configuration (it can muck around with some ISPs networks!).
    Here goes:
    1. Disconnect the two computers.
    2. Open System Preferences on the PowerMac and click on sharing. Then click on Internet Sharing.
    3. "Share your computer using:" Select built-in Ethernet
    4. "To computers using:" Select Ethernet.
    5. Reconnect the two computers.
    On your MacBook:
    1. Start with Leopard, and open System Preferences -> Network. What do you see?
    2. Can you browse the net? If this works, then it should work for Vista too.
    3. Can you see the PowerMac on the SHARED devices in a Finder window?
    3. Restart into Vista. The network should work immediately.
Report back! If we have managed to get this far, then we will have a go at the file sharing.

Just how is the one computer connecting to the internet? What type of connection does the office have, DSL, Cable or is it a Data connection through a Cell phone provider.
I doubt all other computer are doing Ad-Hoc but are probably Sharing the Internet connection with Internet Connection Sharing from that one Windows base PC.
All you khave to do is Connect to that same WiFi SSID name and have the correct password for it.
