How do customers download Flash-Lite content

Hi,
I'm looking at making Flash-Lite content (.swfs) available to
customers for things such as company brochures.
One thing i'm not sure of is how do customers get or download
the content onto their phone. Obviously tey could down load it to
their phone from a website or email.
My question is how do you set it up so a customer could say
request a Flash-Lite movie and have it download striaght to their
phone?
Any help greatfully received.

Hi ,
in addition, if you need to have billing system (like, for
games that are not freely distributed), it works just like with
J2ME content. The user writes a SMS to shortcode number, send that
to the billing system (server), and a SMS is returned (from
server), with a link to the content (.swf). Opening that link
downloads the .swf and starts it.
We tested this some time ago: set up a server, and tested on
different finnish carrier/operator SIMs -- no problems.

  • How do I install Flash Lite 3.1 to a Windows Mobile Device in Australia

    Hi All,
I am just an end user not a developer. We have a mixture of devices (Palm Treo Pro, HTC Touch HD) that we want to run a Fash Version 8 website. How do we install Flash Lite OTA on these devices to view the flash content?
    We are in Australia.
    thanks

I had some success installing on a real Mobile 5 device [http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5344195]
There is a link to a doc on the main download page, item 5 under How to Install. [http://java.sun.com/javame/downloads/sdk30ea.jsp] I used this for the real device, Treo 700w. Did not try it with an emulator.
The support looks to be an emulator rather than a JVM per say. But then again I could be wrong on that. I too had poked around looking for a JVM, CrEme, J9, etc..
I do have a commercial app installed on the Treo that uses IBM's J9, which is seems requires a contact with a sales person to get ahold of. I had hoped to find something that might clue me in on how to "hook up" my own J2ME app with the J9 installed by the commercial package. But I've pretty much decided to get a real J2ME handset rather than continue to waste my time hacking up something with WM. Now the question is which one makes a good reference platform?

  • New flash lite content

    Hi all,
just a quick note for anyone that's interested...
SMS.ac are offering $100 for flash content from developers
    new to their system.
I've spoken to them directly, and whilst their 'mobile pods'
aren't currently supported on mobiles, flash lite content IS
accepted as they are trying to get it working on mobile at the
moment so they want content for when they are ready.
if you are interested here is the email of who to speak to
    for details...
    (Cara Thomson) [email protected]
just thought some of you might be interested in this one
    Paul
(this only applies if you add content before the 15th sept
and it's only for your first swf)

    You can't.
Android (Google) dropped all support for Flash last summer. The reason is the same one Apple gave seven years ago when they released iOS: Playing Flash content is very processor consumptive and it kills batteries... as well as shortening the battery life in mobile devices.
Android recommends using either "Dolphin" or Puffin" as your browser (BOTH are free in the GooglePlay store). They use "server side rendering" of Flash content to reduce the load on your Android device.

Moderator's Note: Subject line changed as it is not seem to be a relevant and support issue.

It depends in what format the online videos are.
For some formats you might find appropriate players on Nokia Store

How to make adobe flash player content on websites run on safari browser of my ipad?do I have to install adobe flash player on my ipad ?

The flash add-on is not available for Safari on iOS. Never has been and in fact Adobe has ceased support for flash for mobile devices in general. Your options, depending on the specific sites:
See if the site or sites in question have their own apps availabel in teh app store
Look into some browsers such as Puffin adn iSwifter (there are others, I beleive). These browsers use a third server site to translate the flsh content into a form that the iPAd can use and restreams them to you. They may not work with all content.
Use a computer capable of running flash.
Seek a source of the conent that is designed for non flash use.

How can I download all purchased content before changing my info account?

You can always setup your GMail account on your Mac as a POP3 account, and then flag GMail to mark all messages new.  The next mail check would cause your mail app to download all the messages on teh GMail server to your mail client.  Once they are in your mail client, you manage them locally in there, and it won't matter if the GMail host account goes away or not, because POP3 works with the local data once it is downloaded form the server.
Be advised that doing this can cause you to redownload thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of emails depending upon your email volume and how long you have been using GMail.  If I do this, my GMail wants to re-send close to 6GB of data to me again because I have been using GMail for about as long as it has existed, and I average 100-200 emails a day on that account.

  • I need to download Flash Lite to develop mobile apps...

I can't find the link for downloading Flash Lite, may anyone help me please ? I will appreciate it, thanks in advance,

You can get the Flash Lite Player
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/downloads.html
Search for "Get the Flash Lite Player" here.
Although, to develop application you might not need the player installer, instead you would need the profile in the Flash IDE which is also available in the same page for Flash 8. For higher versions of Flash you can download the profile to Flash IDE using the update manager.
