How do different CLASSPATH variables work together?

What is the relationship between my NT CLASSPATH, kregedit CLASSPATH, and Visual Cafe CLASSPATH? Are they ever concatenated? Obviously the NT CLASSPATH is used whenever a java app is invoked from the command line. What if I invoke the app server from within Visual Cafe, which CLASSPATH is used? (iAS 6.0 SP 2 on Windows NT)

I don't know about Visual Cafe, but I can answer two other question of yours. iAS uses the system CLASSPATH to locate things that are out of the application server. For example the ias-client.jar, is used in the system classpath when RMI-IIOP applications are invoked. The application server's classpath is used for accessing the deployed application or even the startup.class. Please let me know if you have further questions on this.

To use Image Capture you need an ICA driver for your scanner. Checking the Fujitsu web site for drivers for the iX500 I only see a ScanSnap manager for OS X. No mention of an ICA driver. So you may need to contact your local Fujitsu support.

Confused about how Adobe Reader& Adobe acrobat work together?

I have had Adobe Reader for some time--used to have Acrobat too, but when it became outdated-- a "pc-"fixer -upper" convinced me I needed Adobe Flash Player installed. This did nothing for me. I have an older computer--do not watch movies or even many DVD's or videos on my computer and don't download songs either. I would like to understand how all these Adobe products work together and what they can do for me. I do use and read and print PDF files from various organizations and would like to be able to combine or merge these if it will take up less space. I am not very computer literate so I need some help. Thanks for any suggestions from readers & probably I need to watch the instructional aids.

Adobe Reader is purely a PDF viewer, with the ability to fill forms or add comments.
Adobe Acrobat can create, edit, merge PDF files. Of course it can also be used to only view PDF files.
Older versions of Acrobat (9 and earlier) did not work well together with Adobe Reader; Acrobat X and XI work perfectly well with Reader X and XI.
Regarding your idea "to combine or merge these if it will take up less space"; I don't think doing this will result in less space usage.

Satellite P305-s8842: How do the 2 HDDs work together?

I have the Satellite P305-s8842, it comes with dual 200 gig HDD's.
I was wondering how they work together. The main one is almost full; when it fills all the way up will it automatically start filling the second HDD?
Right now there are only two files on the second one they are a temp folder and a msdia80.dll file.

Anyway, I don't really understand how it's supposed to be used. Please don't flame, I am pretty proficient with computers but this is the first one that I've had that has two hdd's. Just trying to understand how they work together. Thanks.

Safari and VLC -- how do I make them work together?

I installed VLC on my Mac Pro and I want to use VLC to play streaming content. I think the link I'm clicking on is Adobe Flash content that then opens another program to play the MMS stream.
Quicktime Player can't handle the stream and when I click on the link now the computer starts Parallels and tries to launch Windows Media Player from a virtual machine, which also can't handle the stream. I know that the VLC client can handle the stream because it works great on my Macbook Pro.
I don't know how to change the necessary file/stream associations so that Safari/Adobe launch VLC to play the stream instead of either Quicktime or Windows Media Player. Also, because it is a stream launched from flash content I can't just open it in the Finder and change the application association.
I found a workaround by creating a new .ASF file and then opening that with Finder to "change all" and associate ASF with the VLC client, but there must be an easier way.
What is the easiest way to do this?

Thinkpad Yoga and UP710E stylus, how do you make them work together?

So my work just got me a Thinkpad Yoga as per my request
I have confirmed that in the Device Manager I do see: "HID-compliant touch screen"
I have also gone out on my own and purchased the UP710E wacom stylus, as suggested at various points on this board and on other sites, as something that should work with the Yoga
I've also purchased Manga Studios as an art program that is supported on this device (it seems to run fine) and with the pen.
I turned on Manga Studios (and MSPaint for good measure), pressed pen to screen and... nothing. Eraser to screen.. nothing. Mouse? Works fine. Stylus that everything and everyone indicated should work? Nope.
So.... what am I missing? Is there a driver I should be looking at? Everything should be up to date.. some in-between program I need to install? Try this when the wind is blowing south by southwest?

I'll defer to others who might know definitively, but it's my understanding that the 1366x768 LCDs are not Wacom digitizer-equipped, whereas the FHD panels are. That would be one possibility for what you're seeing.

Need advice on how to make this all work together

Not really sure where to post this, so I decided to post here. I'm trying to streamline devices and move more into the cloud. Because of some weird network issues it is complicated.
Currently I have a MacMini at home. I am a teacher so office-type documents are important. I'm currently using Mac Office 2011. I have a netbook that I use to show PowerPoint at school and to have access to documents. I use Dropbox to keep them in sync. I also have an iPhone 4 and 3rd gen iPad with unlimited 3G/4G data.
The big fly in the ointment is that Dropbox is blocked on our school network. This causes all kinds of problems because it means I have to sync my netbook in the mornings and afternoons or I get conflicts. Its also a pain to get things off the net. I have to use my school PC, then USB it to my netbook because it has no net access.
I also want to keep school and personal items completely separate.
Things I have been considering....
Moving to iWork apps to make use of Apple's cloud.
Replacing my mini with a MBP to use as a base at home, and to then be able to take to school. I would not want to use it on my projector so that's an issue.
Using an iPod Touch to show keynote presentations.
Laptop thoughts usually creep in, but to be honest I've never really used them all that often. I like lots of screen room.
I would prefer the iPad to be my main mobile computer.
Looking forward to any input.

I have a MBP, IPAD with retina display, and multiple iphones in the family. I have a Airport Extreme for my router and Apple TV hooked up to our lcd TV. The Apple TV is great because you can use any apple device to project whatever your working with onto the Apple TV with Airplay. Not sure if you would be able to connect your Apple TV to the school network, but if you could that would be the answer along with using the cloud. The key would be access to the school network.

main() is simply the entry point into your program for the JVM. When you say
java MyClassYou're telling hte JVM to execute public static void main(String[] args) in the class MyClass. That class must be on your classpath and it must have that method. ABAPer working together Customer Care

Have you, being an ABAPer, worked with Customer Care before?
My situation involve me (ABAP) having to work with Customer Care to determine issue coming from customers are either ABAP or Functional.
Do you all know of any process that could help customer care do extract information from a customer request in email into a form?

Setting my Classpath variable

Could someone please help me get the classpath variable working
C:\Java\sampledir\Java Game Programming;.;C:\Program Files\s1studio_jdk\j2sdk1.4.1_02\lib\tools.jar
This is what I have in the Classpath variable now in my Windows 2000 O/S
Now from what I gather with having this set up in the classpath I should be able to compile anything in the Java Game Programming Folder and I can do it right from the C:\ prompt. Am I correct in thinking this?? or do I need to be in the directory with the file I want to compile??
The error message I recieve after typing from the C:\ prompt javac GameOver.java
produces this error message
error: cannot read: GameOver.java
1 error
Now I do know everything within the file is correct because it compiles and runs successfully in Sun One Studio. :)

The classpath is a way for the compiler to resolve class names it encounters in the source files.
But you still have to give it the exact path to your source file !
you don't need to be in the directory of the file, you can just give its absolute path from whatever directory you happen to be.

How to fix different execution plan for different bind variable values?

Please find the below query. The execution plan is fine. The problem That I am facing is in some cases for different bind variable values execution plan gets changed and degrades performance. After searching in several blogs I have found the below solutions. Please see it and let me know it is correct or not
Solution 1:-Get rid of histogram that does nothing but messes up execution plan by giving below command
exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(owner, tablename, method_opt => 'for all columns size 1', cascade => true);
As 6 tables are there I need to execute above command 6 times.
Solution 2:- Use stored outline. Not sure how to get the best execution plan.

As you have probably read, bind variables and histograms do not mix well.
Histograms suggest that you have skew in your data such that different values should get different plans
Bind variables exist so that SQL with different supplied values can be shared.
Mix the two together and at parse time with bind variable peeking you get plans for specific values shared for all values.
The solutions you have mentioned are the common approaches, together with a third - use literals not binds if you've got data skew (i.e. your histograms are justified) and don't want shared SQL.
I would have thought that getting rid of some of these histograms may be the right approach if you're none of your application SQL is using literals to benefit from them.
Can you confirm your version of Oracle.

i am loading a swf in local and this has to be communicate the swf which was in the server(different domain). using the system.security.allowdomail i can access the variables, but i can't able to access _global variable.

It should work the way you mentioned it. I don't see why it
didn't unless there is a spelling mistake or something. If there
is you should have a got an error message. :-)
I actually don't recommend using globals at all, I would rather
use a PL\SQL Package Specification to define Global Variable.
These variables are valid for the duration of the Session and
they are restricted to Char(255) limit. It reduces the number of
mistakes when converting dates and Such. It also forces the
developers to place all the globals in one place instead of
multiple places. Read Feurstein's book on PL\SQL Programming for
more details.
