How do enter my wifi password when IPad has the old saved password on it?

How do I change my wireless password when the old password is stored for the wireless connection?

Similar issue but forget this network does not reset my problem. My IT staff came in to my office to check my network login. Asked if they could use my computer, I was in the middle of a big chunk of statistical code and said no. Asked if they could use my Ipad. Not thinking I said sure, they logged in with their credentials on the new network, now even if I hit forget and wait a half hour, as soon as I select that network it finds their old login and connects. How do I reset this login and password to ME?

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The first thing you should do after acquiring a used computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. How you do that depends on the model. Look it up on this page to see what version was originally installed.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard installation disc, which you can get from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the gray installation discs that came with it. If you don't have the discs, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, it should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
Once booted from the disc or in Internet Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive, which is what you should do.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
You should then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. If you want to upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, buy it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.

  • HT204409 How do I change or reset my password for my wifi? I have forgotten my initial password when I setup the wifi and now cant use it with my iPod but it still works with my iPad as the password option doesn't come up like the iPod.

If you are saying that the iPod asks for the password for the network and you do not know it, what may work is to turn on iCloud keychain for the iPod and iPad., Thet may sync the password from the iPad to the iPod

Click here and reset the password. If you've forgotten the Apple ID, you can recover it from the same site.

  • TS1398 my wifi password changed but I can't find a way to enter the new password on my ipad...it just keeps saying unable to join (since it has the old password in it)

my wifi password changed but I can't find a way to enter the new password....I keep getting a message "unable to join network" (since it has the old password in it)

Thanks!!!  I actually used the "reset network settings" process but my guess is that I will now have to re-enter passwords for the networks I use...seems they should have made an easy way to simply change a password for a specific network since a lot of folks change them regularly for security reasons....thanks for the responses!!!

  • I signed up yesterday with synch. I dont know my password and I need it to reset a new password. Please advise how to set a new password when I dont know old 1

I signed up yesterday with synch. I don't know my password and I need it to reset a new password. Please advise how to set a new password when I dont know old 1
I set it up on my "upstairs computer" and then came to my "downstairs computer" to synch and I can not get into the account because of the above password problem. I write down my passwords. I must have mistyped it or mis written.
I want to change my password

The new Sync version uses the Firefox account and stores the login data (username/email and password) under the https://accounts.firefox.com site heading in the Password Manager and use the signedInUser.json file in the profile folder to store the credentials once connected to the account to avoid having to enter the master password on each start.

  • IPad suddenly asking for password, when I removed the requirement 2 weeks ago.  I can't get in.  Help!

My iPad suddenly is asking for an Exchange password when I removed the password requirement completely several weeks ago, and it's been working fine without one.  Additionally, it never recognizes the password when I do set one.  I record it on a sticky note and leave it in my iPad, so there's no mistake.  Now I can't get past the password box.  Help!

This tends to happen when you add a Microsoft email or some other email that requires the user to automatically change your simple 4 digit "Simple" passcode to a more complicated passcode.
Just enter your 4 digit passcode and enter in a new complicated passcode.
you can then have the ability to remove the Microsoft Exchange email and switch back your passcode settings to simple passcode.
    hope that helps

  • I did set up the password when I got the phone and iPad months ago but never turned it on. Now it is asking for the passwords for both my iPhones and iPad and I cannot select not the have the passwords active.  ???

I did set up the password when I got the phone and iPad months ago but never turned it on. Now it is asking for the passwords for both my iPhones and iPad and I cannot select not the have the passwords active.

If you do not want to use passcodes, why don't you just go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock and delete the passcode and set the lock to OFF.  That will eliminate the problems all together.

  • How do you re-set an iPhone password when your child, the comedian, thought it was funny to change the four digit code, and now cannot remember what he put in? Thanks

How do you re-set the four digit password when your son, the comedian, thinks it was funny to change the password, but now cannot remember what he changed it to? the phone goes inactive for 60 minutes, but I can't figure out how to get a reset.  Thanks, kel

You're in trouble. You'll have to force the phone into recovery mode & restore it to remove the passcode:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

  • HT5622 How can I get on ICloud when it say the maximum number of free accounts has been activated on this iPad?

How can I get on iCloud when it say the maximum number of free accounts has been activated on this IPad?

A maximum of three new iCloud accounts can be created on a single iOS device. If you have already created three iCloud accounts (why?) then log in using one of those to start using it.
Otherwise, you'll have to find another device to create an iCloud account on.

  • How can Airport increase wifi speed when I am lucky to get 5mbps out of my modem now

How can Airport increase wifi speed when I am lucky to get 5mbps out of my modem now.
Is the Airport a modem in its own right?

The Internet connection speed that you obtain on your network will be limited by the plan that you have with your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
No device on your network will be able to make that connection go any faster.
If you need a faster Internet connection speed, you will need to speak to your ISP about a faster plan....at a higher price of course.
The AirPort is capable of providing far higher speeds than your ISP can ever hope to provide.  Kind of like having a car that can go 400 miles an hour, but the speed limit is 40.
