How to fix problems with WIFI iOS 6. ,,, i.e. No auto connect.

All i am having various issues.
1- Wifi wont work properly with OS6.
Examples: facebook wont update notifications while in wifi, but is does in 3G.
Other example: uploading pictures runtime error.
2- Wifi wont Autoconnect. It was auto connecting until I reseted the network settings.
Not sure why now all the sudden does not auto connect.

Your problem may have to do with the age of your router. My old router does have the same problem.
It could also be the router settings, or the firmware version. Make sure you update the firmware. In other cases downgrading the firmware also may work. Apple is been updating wifi protocols to new standards, causing old routers to be not as good. (Specially with the iOS 6).
To fix the auto connect;
1- delete all networks
2- turn on "ask to join networks"
3- turn off 3G to force Safari to ask to join a network.
4- open Safari
5- accept to connect to wifi and enter password
6- you are done, and it will always auto connect
If you go straight to networks and connect to wifi that way next time you turn off and back on the wifi it wont auto connect. You need to follow instructions above.

How to fix problems with AppleTV disconnecting suddenly from when streaming from iPhone or iPad

My AppleTV suddenly gets disconnected from streaminng when I use iPhpne or iPad. This didn't occur first 6 months from purchasing the item but now that my AppleTV is about 1.5 yr old, it happens pretty frequently and it really is annoying, when you try to watch 1+ hour long shows through streaming (AirPlay). Anyone know how to fix this problem? Note: this is not related to my wifi connection as other things with wifi works just fine when this is happening to my AppleTV. Thanks!!

That doesn't rule out a network issue.
Reboot ATV and router, make sure router is up to date.
Try Ethernet
Go to istumbler (Mac) or netstumbler (PC) to get a report of the network, look for signal strength and noise

How to fix problems with apps that need access to Apple servers?

I have problems with Apple apps that connects to Apple servers (App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Support pages on Safari).
They are very slow or even not responding like iTunes Store with blank pages.

Problem with Codec - QT7 does not recognize it

I'm trying to play a video with the basic version of QT 7.0.4 (didn't go to PRO yet) and the movie does not play.
I installed the codec's and still doesn't work.
The movie info was:
DX50, 528 x 304, Millions
MPEG Layer 3, Stereo, 48.000 kHz
And I had in the folder HD/Library/Quicktime:
DivX 6 Decoder.component
DivX 6 Encoder.component
AppleIntermediateCodec.component
In another try the movie info was:
XVID, 544 x 304, Millions
MPEG Layer 3, Stereo, 44.100 kHz
And I had in the folder HD/Library/Quicktime:
XviD_Codec v0.5.1.component
AppleIntermediateCodec.component
I tried all combinations of codec's (including 3ivx) and did not work.
Does the basic version accept 3rd Party codecs?
Any ideas?

Hello JC,
The reason the movie will not play is because that's how Apple grabs you by the yang and twists. QT will not play AVI files until you purchase QT Pro, but it gets better. When you do purchase it, it will only work for the life of the lastest version of QT. As soon as a newer version comes out say QT 8, the QT Pro you now have for QT 7 will no longer work. That's why I'll never get QT Pro.

Problems with Tomcat Server : Does not respond (Sometimes) - Plz Need Help

I have a web application running on Tomcat 4.1.31. (SUN/Solaris)
Clients access through iPlanet Web Proxy (SUN/Solaris).
Theres a class that build a generic form (it return html codes) then it's affected in the JSP page :
MyClass class = new MyClass();
<%= class.getHtmlCode() %>
the size of the form is variable (100Ko to 1,5Mo)
When i m using the proxy, sometimes the server does not respond when he do the affectation <%= class.getHtmlCode() %>.
If i call the page without proxy it work.
The problem seem not depending of the size of the form. Without proxy it always work. And with proxy sometimes the server does not work.

This happens on every machine i have tested. If i hold down the Ctrl+Alt keys, then the imaging menu appears, i can select maintenance and the client will pull down the initrd, etc.. fine.
if i disable the IPHelper, move the client to the same VLAN as the server, then the whole process works perfectly.
not sure where to go from here.

If you are getting the ZENworks menu when holding down the Ctrl-Alt keys, PXE/PDHCP seems to be doing the right thing. Routing issues also don't seem the case as you can pull down the first PXE boot files....
The server running PXE, I assume it also runs the TFTP and Imaging services?
These services are also running a recent version of Zen 7 (IR3/IR4)? A little more info on these components and what server they are on would be good :)

I have a problem with Downloads, firefox does not recongise the .doc format despite me having word 2007 loaded only a problem since a new laptop, and windows 7 professional, any ideas?

When Trying to download a word file I get this error message: " *.doc could not be opened, becasue the associated helper application does not exist change the association in your prefernces. " Have checked preferences, and IE opens up the file pointing to something wrong with firefox.

I should have explained further. The game opens in a new window over to the upper left of my screen, leaving the original page underneath. I tried minimizing it so that I could get to my toolbar and did the View > Zoom > Reset. This has no effect. The lower portion of the game is still not showing. Using other browsers the window or frame of the game is much larger, therefore everything shows.

I have a 3rd generation iPod touch 32gb and it will not turn off, nor will it charge. Plugging in to my computer, iTunes does not even detected. Even if I leave it to charge, it does not detect it. The odd thing is that it get really hot in the lower back area of the iPod. It is hot to the touch, as though it were 80 degrees+. Anyway for me to fix this?
The iPod is way out of warrenty, so I wonder if a Genius bar appointment will even help me. But I will give them a try.

Setup Problem with 8500a, computer does not sees printer, but printer sees router

When updated my wireless router (AC 1200) my 8500a had to go to the "guest network". The printer sees the router and prints the test pages fine, the computer does not see the printer and I can not print. During the setup, when I enter the IP address off the printer, the computer does not find it. What can I do? I am running windows 7 premium.

I understand that you're trying to setup your printer. Is the computer you're trying to connect to the printer on the same guest network as the printer?

Memory problems, system hangs or does not enter 'sleep' mode

Since my MacBook automatically upgraded itself (Software Update) to 10.5.7 about a month ago I've had nothing but problems with it.
I keep getting 'low memory' warnings, or the 'please wait' twirling symbol displays for ages whilst something happens in the background, or the system occasionally hangs for no apparent reason. Sometimes it reboots without warning.
But the most irritating aspect of the problems I'm experiencing is that when I put it into Sleep mode and subsequently want to wake it up, I notice that the cooling fan is in overdrive (so clearly not asleep at all) and then upon opening the cover I get a blank screen (nothing 'wakes up'). Or so it appears. But actually upon closer inspection I can see my last used screen display in very faint outline somewhere in the darkness of the screen. The only way out of this scenario is to hold the on/off button until the machine shuts down, wait a few moments and then boot from scratch.
From reading other comments in this forum there seem to be some real problems with 10.5.7, so I suspect I'm not alone in experiencing the problems I've described above.
I'd be interested to know whether people think I should take my MacBook to my local Apple Store to get them to have a look at a fix of some kind, or perhaps there is something I could be doing myself?

For the record, no computer can just update it's system software on it's own. When Apple has updates available you must type in your admin password at the prompt in order to "Accept" the terms. The software cannot be installed without your knowledge.
Next... anytime you do software updates of any kind, run Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities) and repair disk permissions. Launch Disk Utility. Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
Try booting from your install disk and verify whether or not the hard disk has errors.
Insert the installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
If you cannot boot from your install disk, try booting in Safe Mode
Check available disk space.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see
Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.

How to fix problem with installed and working add-ons disappearing after update to 20.0.1?

I updated to version 20.0.1 of Firefox the other day. I had the theme Qute 3++ 1.19 installed and it took 3 restarts of the browser before it kicked in and worked again, for some reason.
Then I noticed that my MillBar Community toolbar 3.18.0.7 had disappeared, which I use for the feature of collecting my email accounts to get fast notifications about new emails. Also my Adblock Plus 2.2.3 seems to not be working because all of a sudden I see ads everywhere and I also discovered a bunch of pop-ups from nowhere. I used these add-ons for such a long time that I was shocked.
When i went to type a message to a friend, I also noticed that my american-english dictionary/spellchecker was not working.
The first thing I checked was that none of these add-ons was inactivated or said to need updates. The dictionary had disappeared, so i re-installed that. I also reinstalled Adblock Plus. Still it doesn't work.
When i entered the email information into the toolbar options, it collects my emails for a while, but suddenly it stops and the information is not there anymore. If I restart the browser it also disappears.
Same thing with the dictionary. it works for a while, and then suddenly it's like it's disabled.
And the add-ons are still in what seems like working conditions in my lists. No errors that I can see, no updates available.
I'm really at a loss as to what to do, I've never had problems like this before that couldn't be solved with an update of the add-on. So I'd be very grateful for help with this and hope that I have provided enough information.

How to fix problem with Gmail password that was working before and works online?

1. Thunderbird was working fine with my Gmail acct for months, then was unable to send a message, but can still receive incoming messages.
2. I was asked to re-enter my password and this did not fix the problem.
3. I went to Gmail online and logged in to verify my password had not changed. Success.
4. I reset password in Thunderbird, but still couldn't send test message to myself.
5. I deleted account in Thunderbird. Then I added a different Gmail acct that was not in Tbird. Success. Then I sent test email, success.
6. Then I re-added the original Gmail acct, Failure! It found the correct settings automatically, but when it tried to verify password, it failed. I repeated entering the password several times, but still failure.
7. WIN7 64bit HP, Tbird 24.4.0
8. All other AOL accts work fine on Tbird.
