If you delete a picture, it sends it to iPhoto trash (left column), there you can permently delete using the empty trash with the icon in the upper right corner. It will come up with a warning if you want tp permently delete trash (photos). It the iPhoto trash you can drag them back out, once you empty the trash, they are gone.
You can also go to finder preferences>advanced, and unclick secyre empty trash, and make sure show warning before empting trash is clicked.

Restoring a backup is specific to the backup program you are using to do your daily backups - consult it's manual, help file or author's support site
Back up your iPhoto library, Depress the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto library starting with the first option and trying others until you are succesful

this just started w/ me yesterday. I was running 10.5.3, and nothing changed - the message just appeard out of nowhere. I update to the latest iTunes 10.6 but the message is the same.
Sounds like probably some sort of Library file corruption.
The two options available in the message box are "Download" and "Quit". Download is useless because I'm already running the latest. Quit is pretty useless.
I was going to just create a new Library and re-import all my music. Of course, all my iPhone sync settings are going go have to be recreated.

Facebook profile pictures not showing up in my Contacts

For some reason only two or three of my contacts show their facebook profile pictures, even though probably 75% of my contacts have facebook photos... why would the pics only show for a few contacts? And how do I fix it? I've checked FB settings and phone settings, but I must be missing something!

You can easily delete your Facebook account from the #Z10, reboot and set it up yet again and allow those pictures to sync.

Facebook Profile Picture On Safari.

My facebook profile picture is a scan from an old photograph. In the thumbnail it looks fine like the original color picture, but when I click on the picture it is black and white. This happens only on Safari. Any idea why this is happening? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As for the photo of the little boy, I see one reading a book wearing glasses?
I tried looking at the photo in Firefox and Chrome and both are the same. More like a sepia tone, not color.
Browsers may not render colors all the same, which may explain why it's coming up more sepia then color in Safari.
You could try importing the photo into iPhoto then try using the filters to add more contrast and try more black and then white levels as well as practicing with colors.
You can export photos directly from iPhoto from the menu bar. Click Share > Facebook.

There is no such list of what is downloaded to each phone except in the backup. So if you have a recent backup of each phone you should be able to find an app that reads the backup files and would tell you what list is saved of the content on each phone.

Facebook profile pictures won't update.

I'm trying to add profile pictures to my contacts. (Contacts are hosted on Google btw). When I click "Update profile photos" under my Facebook account in the Internet Accounts area of System Preferences, it doesn't seem to update. It just jumps right to saying "0 contacts updated". It's like it's not communicating with Facebook or something. I've readded my contacts, readded the Facebook account, restarted, and reset my internet, nothing's worked.

Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

I want to import my photos from my iphone (so that i free up the memory) but couldn't do it. When I go on to iPhoto the iPhone doesn't show on my device list and the same happened when I tried image capture. Am I missing something here? Is there a better way to transfer my pictures to my macbook and empty my iphone?

How can I get photos edited in iPhoto to update previously uploaded images in photo stream?

As soon as I import photos to iPhoto on my mac they upload to photostream, which is great, exept when I edit them (for example to remove red eye) they don't update on the photostream so when I look on my iPad they are the origanal photos. Can anyone tell me if there is a way of refreshing the pictures on the photostream with the latest edit. I have tried editing the photostream version but it takes me to the version in my iPhoto library which has already been edited. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

You can't do this.
Photostream is simply - and only - a replacement for importing. Once the file is imported them that's it. Photstream has no further role.

Using the new iMovie and importing pictures from iPhoto, why are some of my pictures blurry?

I Know this topic has been discussed before, but I couldn't find anything recent about this. I have iMovie opened & I'm putting the pictures in. In iPhoto the pictures are clear, but when moved to iMovie, become blurry. I know it has to do with the resolution of the picture but I can't find where to change it at

As far as I know, you can't change it: first, your photo is probably a .jpg and iMovie will be adapting it to a video file which will result in somewhat of a loss of quality and second, if your original picture is small, it cannot be enlarged without significant loss of quality as it will get blurry while the individual pixels are being made larger - that depends on your camera settings and its photo output size. So it could be either or both of those that is the problem here. Check your camera and see what size you are taking your pictures in.

Cannot upload pictures from iPhoto to tumblr or facebook

I've uploaded pictures into my iPhoto and they show up perfectly, but when I go on tumblr and Facebook to upload them they don't show up. All the previous pictures I uploaded are present but the ones I recently uploaded do not show whatsoever. I've tried rebuilding my iPhoto and reinstatlling my web browsers but nothing seems to work. The very common approach to workaround mutating table problem is passing the table state through the package variables. I.e. - you create a package with one global variable ( say l_count). Then you need
1) a trigger before update for statement - here you counts your rows and set the package variable accordingly.
2) a trigger after update for each row - here you read the rowcount from a package variable and do your actual work
3) a trigger after update for statement - here you reset your package variable.
This approach uses the fact, that mutating table problem occurs only with triggers for each row and the order of execution of different trigger types.
However, counting records in every update statement (whereas not so worse although as doing this for each row within an update) may consume a lot of resources, so, possibly , you can rethink your business needs/approach.
