Creating a semaphore in a zone.
Trying to access it in the global zone using sem_open. Fails - no such file or directory.
ipc_dac_read and ipc_dac_write are in the effective set but are not sufficient.
How do I access a semaphore from global?

You don't.
The whole point of zones is to separate the namespaces so zones appear to be separate physical machines.
You need to think of them that way.

I've been playing with a Galaxy here at work and here's what I've found so far - please feel free to jump in and suggest alternative methods to configure or access the various icloud components.

Not entirely: the website can't be used from an android browser (not properly - even with Dolphin HD and posing as different browsers it won't load correctly. So Find my iphone is out, so is the address book or looking at your e-mail or calendar just in a browser window

Be sure to setup the account manually - and note if you have trouble using SSL try TLS (that worked for me)
Address book is a no go so you'll have to use iTunes to sync all your contacts over to Gmail - if you still have an iPad it means managing contacts in two places though . iWork is an Apple proprietary bit so don't expect much there.
So in my case, if I'm really going to make the switch to a Galaxy from my iPhone it really means I'm going to have to switch to using google as the backend. The timing to swap over to a galaxy/android phone is not the greatest - given that I'd have to give up my Apple addiction (syncing photos and itunes and losing access to my device tracking). Yes, you can copy songs that you ripped from a CD to your Home Sharing computer.
Turn on Home Sharing first on both computers. To do that, go to File > Home Sharing > Turn on Home Sharing. Enter your Apple ID and password.
Now go to your computer that you want to copy the songs to and connect to your Home Share. You can do that by clicking on the popover button located at the left top corner right below the play control buttons. Click on it and scroll to the bottom until you see your Home Share and select it.
Go to Music in your Home Share. Select the songs that you want to copy in your Home Share and click Import at the bottom right corner.

Why would you want to access your Pages documents on the iPad if you don't have Pages?
If you wanted to email them to someone, you could have done that on the Mac. If you want to edit them on the iPad you need the app on the iPad.

I have a brand new installation of 10.8.2 . I installed the server app and started Calendar, Contacts, DNS, File Sharing, Mail, Open Directory and the Wiki services. I created a group with some users in it. I also created a group wiki and enabled the calendar for that wiki. The user group has r/w access to the wiki. The web interface to the wiki works from a client 10.8.2 client system. I can edit the group calendar through the web interface. I created an account in the Calendar application that connects to the server and shows the users' calendar. I altered the server path to /principals/__uids__/wiki-GROUPNAME/.
The calendar shown is still that for the user and not the one of the group. Hence my question: how do I access group calendars on a 10.8 server from the calendar application on a client?

First of all, synonyms only help you easy reference the object. It doesn't have any implication of object privilege.
As long as you have proper privilege on target object. You can access it with or without synonyms.
Assuming you have proper privilege of objects, you can use following command to assume schema owner.
ALTER SESSION SET CURRENT_SCHEMA = Schema_owner

Unless this is critcal for some reason I would not do this. Unless you understand all the techinolticcal pit falls you can leave your computer dangerusly exposed doing this. If you are not technical your best bet is going to be to get a wireless router with built in VPN support ($200 - $500) to give you a secure connection home. And then you will need the Apple Remote Desktop app ($90 I think) and even then it will only work if your work compute is also a Mac. There are probably other comerial apps that will let you remote into your Mac desktop on windows but will probably be in the $200 price range.

I have the same problem! I can't find anything on the web about how to remove those ringtones. I have purchased ringtones from itunes and those show when I go to settings>sounds> I see the ringtones that I purchased from itunes above the default ringtones. There is a LINE that separates the purchased ones from the default ones. The problem here is the ringtones created using AnyRing are under the line along with the default ringtones. I can't seem to delete em! I went into iFile and deleted anything that was linked to AnyRing, but that did not resolve my problem :/

How to get access key while creating database view in R3

Hi all experts,
I am new to SAP so please forgive my ignorance.
From R3, I am trying to create a new database view named ZVENDOR_ATTR which will be based on LFM1.
When i go to SE11 -> chose view and click create then it shows a pop up window that says "you are not registered as a developer. Please register in the Online Service System (OSS). In the OSS you will receive an access key."
I don't know how can i get the access key and proceed now. Please note that i have installed this BW3.5 and R3 on my laptop. From the default user ddic, i have copied and created a new user 'sapuser1'. I am now using the sapuser1 to logon and attempting to create the above mentioned Database view. It seems like this sapuser1 as it is copied from ddic is not a developer.
So anybody can please help how to create/get this access key to proceed further.
I will give full points. Please help.

Does it mean that i can not create any database object without the access key from service.sap.com? As i told that i installed this BW3.5 / R3 on my laptop to train myself but i don't have an account on service.sap.com.
However i can login to R3 system as admin (i have access to the system using ddic or spcpic). Is there a way that a new user with deveoper role can be created by the admin without going to service.sap.com.
Please advise.

Hi j.v.fromnc,
One of the advantages of having Pages in iCloud beta is its ability to share with other devices, so it is not surprising you want to be able to access it on your iPad. To begin with you will need to install Pages for iOS on the iPad.
Pages
Once the document is created in Pages in iCloud, it automatically becomes available to devices using your iCloud account. On the iPad, go to Settings > Pages and make sure that Use iCloud is on. Of course you will want to be using the same iCloud account.

How can i access my PowerMac when i am away from home?

Hi, I have a powermac G5 at home and have just bought a mac book pro. is there any way to set them up so i can access the powermac when i am out traveling with my mac book? I guess i would need to leave the powermac on all the time, but how do i get the two connected? i have far to many files to use iDisc and i have a lot of extra drives attached to the powermac at home.
Any chance the answers could be simple!!! I'm relatively new to macs and know almost nothing about accessing computes over the internet.

I am just implementing something which may be of interest to you.
I have a home network of a G5 Quad and several PCs which I wanted to be able to access, securely while I was away from home. (Using a XP laptop).
I have just purchased a LinkSys RVL200 VPN router and ASDL modem and after a fair amount of trial and error managed to get it working to my ISP, British Telecom.
Effectively I can now connect my laptop from anywhere on the internet and it is as if I am sat on home with it connected to my local network. Most importantly it runs via an https: tunnel (may not be the correct phrase) so it is secure.
To connect all I have to do is go to my IP address via the browser using https://, logon on and it creates a connection through which I can access my Mac and PCs. Once the connection is in place then I can run any application on my laptop and it connects fine. (Last night I tested it running ftp to my G5 which is hidden behind the firewall.)
The only thing I am not sure about is how it would connect using a Mac rather than an XP machine (the secure connect icon appears in the tray) but if it fits what you are looking for I'm sure LinkSys could advise on whether it would work.

I was wondering if I could use an expert's opinion on the time and effort (FTEs) that goes into cleaning 50,000 PO lines that contain item descriptions to create a clean item master and a (basic) catalog.
The idea is:
To remove duplicates, invalid, non recurring/ redudant items
To create categories and sub categories (Standard - no coding)
Is there any defined tool and process-steps, not only for SAP but in general? Do consultants do this manually (with Excel spreadsheets) or some other means.
Any references will be very useful.

could be any time from a day to some months, just depends how big the mess is and how detailed the wishlist is and how well you want become.
Most consultants will do this probably with Excel as they are used to it.
Mixed tools can speed the process up if the people are used to those tools, or slow it down if they are not and need training before they can start.
Is it really only the description which will finally be different for some thousand materials that finally need to be created?
I would start with TAANA transaction, this would give me already an aggregated view on the items, as it can be used to group and count the items by description (and other parameters such as year) so it is down in seconds to the number of variations. Means the duplicates are eliminated.
Then you identify the one-time buys from previous years and remove them from the list (the output of TAANA can be worked on with Excel inplace)
Now starts the hard work to remove the garbage. This is usually a manual work, looking for typos which made this different from the same item with the correct description. And even identifying duplicates that are totally different written "Elbow - stainless steel" and "Stainless steel elbow" and far apart from each other in your list.
For this I use Excel with the Fuzzy Lookup Add-in
Watch some videos on youtube to see how it works, it's great.
And finally you load the materials with LSMW. If you are experienced with SAP material masters then you know which fields this materials need, they all could be defined as constants and your input file could only have the description, if that is really the only difference, which I actually don't believe. There might be differences in material group, in the unit of measure and usually in the purchasing group too (probably even more fields). And exact those differences in the other fields have to be considered in the cleanup too.
So, just technically eliminating duplicates and the worst garbage and all the one-time buys and finally load uniformed NLAG materials with just different descriptions could be done in a day. But the experience tells me that this can quickly evolve to a bigger long term project with harmonizing the way how the description will be written, harmonizing units and material groups.

Where are you not able to see the req?
Are you using screen or using sql?
If you are using EBS screens,
Go to req. summary screen > enter import source =MSC and enter the item # and Date Range > hit find
Similarly go to PO summary screen > enter item# and date range, check "View releases" box > hit find
If you are on sql, use po_requisition_headers_all and po_line_locations_all tables.
