You simply swipe your finger across it, left or right, and that switches between the caller screen and the keypad. hope this helps.

You mean when actively on the line interacting with an automated system on the other end? You don't. Or, rather, it's up to the system on the other end. When you tap a number, the tones are sent over the line immediately. You can't "undo" it.

Got it. During the call, instead of tapping the keypad, tap Add Call - then tap the keypad button at the bottom, enter the number, then tap the 'add contact' icon/button (bottom left of this keypad, but not the other keypad), then you can tap Create New Contact or Add to Existing Contact. After that, you can save the contact then cancel out (so you don't actually call the number). You can do all of that while the call is ongoing.
Alternatively, click the home button, then tap the Notes app icon and enter the number into a note.
The advantage of the first method is that you can later dial the number just by tapping it, whereas if it's in a note, you can't directly dial the number from there.

Typing a number in the keypad during a call

Sometimes while you are in a call it happens you need to type a new phone number (provided by the person in the other side of the line for instance). So, I tap the keypad and type the phone number. But, once I finish the current call, the keypad goes off, and the number I typed just disappears. Does anyone know how I can keep that number I typed in the keypad? Tx.

Why not just type it in a note instead, then you just click on it to call the number.
The keypad is for entering dtmf tones during a call and is different to the dialling keypad so the number disappears when a call is ended

There is a long time dll call in my program. The program doesn't response to mouse click in the front panel during the dll call when I want to display other page in Tab control. It only response after the call.
How to solve the problem?

Wether or not it is possible to fix this situation is dependent on the dll itself.
IF
the dll is written to be re-entrant (thread-safe)
THEN
you can configure the Call Library function to not run in the user interface thread. This can be done by right-clicking on the node and selecting "configure". In the configure screen, ther is a drop down selection box that defaults to "Run in UI thread". Change this to re-entrant.
You can then determine which thread the dll runs in by setting the properties of the calling VI.
Warning!
If the dll is not re-entrant you WILL experience random crashes and possible data coruption! All bets are of if the dll is used in the wrong manner.
What is happening:
LV's execution systems are multi-thread with the exception
of the UI thread. The UI thread is single threaded to ensure updates of control and indicator information is updated correctly, etc. This thread also uses co-operative multi-tasking wherein a proccess is expected to "put itself to sleep" regularly in order to allow other proccesses in that thread to gain access to the CPU. Your dll is dominating this thread and prevent user actions to be serviced!
Final note;
If you do not know if the dll is thread-safe and decide you just want to experiment,
BACKUP YOUR ENTIRE MACHINE!

How to suppress message popup during RFC call

Hi expert,
I have a scenario where in my RFC i am calling a SAP Bapi. But while this BAPI calling few popups appear which should be clicked as YES and then it has to run further.
This "Pressing Yes" in popup is a manual way , i want it to be done automatically so that during my RFC call there is no interruption.
Is there any FM which can suppress this popup by saying YES and there is no stopping for my RFC.

IOS8 keypad during phone call not registering with automated phone calls

Since upgrading to iOS 8, when I call a number that requires a keypad selection to be transferred to the appropriate extension, somehow the automated service does not pick up on my selections. This happens every time I try to call a business that has an automated service that requires a number selection to be connected to the appropriate extension. This is an EXTREME INCONVENIENCE when I am trying to reach my children's pediatrician for a serious matter in which I have had to do in the past 2 weeks. Please fix this Apple!!!!!

My case with all the notes (6 months worth) has been submitted according to Apple Engineering.
I would suggest anyone with this issue call Apple support, and ask for assistance from senior level support to submit a problem to engineering. Also, submit a feedback request here: http://www.apple.com/feedback
Ask to title your request "Keytone sound during call".
Last, make sure when you call Apple you are ready to run through the diagnostics they will want you to do.
That is:
1. Back up your phone first either through iTunes or iCloud.
2. Restore your Phone.
3. If you are on iOS7, make sure it's the latest version.
-- If you are on iOS6, the last version at this time is iOS 6.1.4
4. Be prepared to do that either prior to the call or during.
5. Ask for your case to be submitted to Engineering and to have a call back to resolve.
Hopefully if we all band together, they will find the issue and we can get our hearing back after the numbing keytone has been blasted in our ears enough times.
Please share your expierences here, but also note that other threads exist on this forum as well for the exact same problem!!

I’m sorry I didn’t grasp your situation earlier but now I do understand. Once the call is initiated you would use the number keys on your keyboard to make selections in an automated system. Make sure that you have the phone call notification on your computer selected and your physical keyboard numbers will let you make selections.

N8 using keypad during a call

Hi All,
I've had my new N8 a few days now and it's pretty great. However, I've just stumbled on the biggest problem so far.
When you're in a call and an automated message says "press 1 for sales, press 2 for service .." etc - well, I tried pressing 3 (that was the option I needed) and it connected me to a totally different number out of my contacts list. I was actually trying to set up a doctors appointment, and it ended the call I was on and dialled some friends instead. Very embarrasing, especially at 8am !
Anyone else had this and / or know a fix ?

i Just tried this to check out what you were talking about, i called my service provider number because i know they have the extensions or whatever,
so after pressing dialer (after the call had gone through and the number options were read out loud, i pressed any number (tried them all including 3), what happens is that it connects using the number while at the same time it searches your contacts for whatever contacts name correspond with that number as well...so in otherwords true hte contacts name comes up but i still get transferred to the proper line.
my thoughts? theres something wrong with the number your trying to call (incorrect option maybe?) , try calling another number with extensions or just dial another extension.
oh and a word of advice it turns out that network help people dont appreciate it when you call them 5 times in a row and you tell them "No, I'm good just checking out the dial pad on my touch phone.."

My confusion was that I could not hear any tones being generated with the dialer option and being presented with a green button I originally assumed that you needed to press this to send!

Accessing the "speaker phone" during a call.

Once I am in a call, how do I activate the speaker phone? While on the call, the "keypad" shows, but there seems to be no way to turn on the speaker phone. The only time I can put my call on the speaker is before I connect with the party I am calling. Many a time in the past few days, especially while "on hold" it would have been easier to lay the phone down and turn the speaker on. I can't do that once in the call.

You show two screens. Let's call them the "black" screen and the "white" screen.
When I go into "contacts" and I select a person I want to call in my contact list, and I use the little phone icon in the contact list to initiate the call, then the black screen shows up and stays active, and I can go to "speaker phone" by touching the speaker icon during the call if I want.
However, if I make a call for a person or business I want to call, using the phone number I found on their business card or their website, (they are not in my contact list) and I use the large green phone icon of the phone app to start the call, I get the white screen, and then,if I want to switch to the speaker phone, I can't get there. There seems to be no way to get back to the black screens once a phone call is started.

When you receive a call and have answered it, if you look at your screen you should see several options, one being speaker, tap the icon and your call will be placed on speaker. The other option is to go settings>general>accessibility>incoming calls and change to speaker. Be warned though, if you change it in settings all your incoming calls will be on speaker until you change the option back to default.
