How do I accomplish HP Officejet 6500A printer installation after upgrade to Windows 8?

Hi,
Please do not touch to the printer, run installation setup on Windows 8 (old or new) machine. The CD may not run at all, what is your 6500A ? E710* what is * ?

How can i make my officejet 6500a print in black and white only?

I just bought an officejet 6500a and I can't figure out how to make it print in black in white only. I print a lot of stuff that doesn't need color and want to save my ink. On some prints it gives me that option when I print. but for the most part it doesn't allow me to change to black and white on things i am printing off the web

Pages 30-34 of the user manual for the Officejet 6500A covers how to change print preferences for the printer with both Mac and Windows. It covers documents, brochures and photos and covers finding the gray scale option. Here is a link to that manual http://goo.gl/6J61R .

HP Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-one printer - issues after upgrading to Windows 8.1

After successfully downloading a driver from the HP website to enable using this all-in-one printer with a new HP laptop using a Windows 8.1 OS, I confirmed that the printing function works normally (just as it did with a Windows XP OS on my wireless home network).
However, I don't find any icons appearing on the 8.1 desktop for other HP apps (e.g. HP Solution Center, HP Photo Creations). I do have an icon for the Printer. When opened, it shows two options: 1) add a new printer and 2) add new software (from the original CD). But the original CD is for the XP OS, which I don't try and possibly mess up what already is working.
So-o-o, Is there any HP software download available for HP apps to use with this printer, especially HP Solutions Center?

Lost printer features after upgrading to Windows 8

I'm using a HP Deskjet 2060 K110 AIO.
After installing Windows 8 from Windows 7, the option for "Pages to Print" (print even and odd pages) and "HP Real Life Technologies" were missing, even after installing driver from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=4157...
I tried installing the driver from the CD it came with, it doesn't want to install.
Is this feature deliberately removed or am I missing something?

Hi,
Those features do avaialble as part of the driver provided with the HP Full Feature Software, by your description I assume you wrongly added the In-OS driver included within Windows 8.
Follow the steps below, that should add any feature of the printer:
1. Download and run the latest full feature software below:

2. Once the installation dialog appears, click CTRL + Shift + ESC to launch the task manager
3. Right-click the HP-DQEX5.exe process and select Open File Location.
4. Right click the top address bar and select Copy address as text.
5. Open the control panel and then go to Devices and printers, Right click the HP Deskjet Ink Adv 2060 icon and select Printer Properties.
6. Open the Advanced tab, then click on New Driver.
7. Click Next, click the Have Disk button, paste the software address by clicking CTRL + V and click OK.
8. Complete the wizard and click OK to confirm the changes. your pritner driver should now include any of those options:

Have you repaired permissions and restarted your computer after installing ML? Checked your printer settings in System Preferences?
If Software Update does not list any updated drivers for your model printer, you should go to the printer's manufacturer website and download the drivers from there and/or contact their tech support to determine if your printer is compatible w/ML.
Read the various Knowledge Base ML printing articles. Here are a few to get you started:

I lost my wireless connection from my Hp A6 Vision lapptop to my HP 3512 deskjet printer when I upgraded to Windows 8.1. I'm told it is installed but it is not responding. I'v tried following instructions and even using the Hp wizard to get it up and running. Is it even compatible with 8.1? What do I need to do?

I understand that you lost your wireless connection to your HP Deskjet 3512 after upgrading to Windows 8.1. I am happy to help!
The printer is definitely compatible with Windows 8.1. As there are drivers available at this website, HP Deskjet 3510 e-All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software and Drivers.
I would recommend the following:
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software. (In case there are old drivers still installed, if not then carry on to the next step).
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Re-install using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
Then follow this guide, Installing the Printer Software for a Wireless Network Connection.

Printing Issues After Upgrading to Win 8.1

Can someone direct me or help me out please. I upgraded to Windows 8.1 on Saturday from Windows 8. I have a Lexmark 7600 Series that used to print, now it doesnt. I have tried everything that I can think of which includes removing and re-installing the printer,making sure the software/drivers is updated. I keep getting the following message every time I do a test page ..
communication not available:
ensure printer is powered on, disconnect and reconnect the printer power cable, USB cable(which is how I print), check firewall, ensure the convenience port is not in use and restart the computer.
I have tried all of the above. I research Wins 8.1 compatibilty with this printer and nothing is listed whether it is or not. I never had this issue but I have notice on the website that alot of people are having issues with this Windows 8.1 upgrade and printers.
I appreciate any feedback, help, links, anything that can help me fix this probblem before buying another printer which is not necessary since I know it prints on other computers in my house.

I understand you're having issues with your Lexmark 7600 printer after upgrading to Windows 8.1.

I can print anything else from either the Desktop or Start but not a PDF. No error message but just does not print.
Update: down loaded Adobe Reader which runs on the desktop so when I read a PDF file it now runs on the desktop and I can print it.

Hi,
Open the Messages app.
Go to the Preferences item in the app's Menu.
Select the account pane in the Preferences.
Each active account should have a tick in the Enable this Account box.
This can be unticked.
This will stop accounts logging in but will not stop the app Launching in certain circumstances.
First of all check the app is Quit before shutting down the computer.
The fact the app is open even if all windows are hidden can cause the app to restart when you Start up the computer.
Messages is a Multiple window app and using the red button on the top left of a window only closes that window and does not Quit the app.
Also check the System Preferences > Users and Groups > your account > Login Items tab.
This will list items that are set to Start up when the computer does.
I have a couple of External Drive on other computers, some Anti Virus software and the common iTunes Helper plus an old version of TextExpander that will work if I launch the Preference Pane this way.

Hi.....my laserjet 1536dnf mfp was working perfectly with win 8 pro....then I installed win 8.1 pro and now the computer ,which is part of a network,can not communicate with the scanner of the printer--it prints just fine. On another computer (running win 7 ) on the same network, the scanner and all other printer functions work just fine.
I have tried installing the latest drivers from HP......scanner still not "communicating" with computer.....also temporarily disabled firewall.....please help...all the best -David G (gossat)
