  • How do I activate a free version of Lightroom?

With my Nx 300 digital camera, I got a free copy of Lightroom (v 4). After installation on my Mac mini I am asked to enter the security code which was not included in the the bundle. The only option is a 30 day trial period. How do I get around this problem?
    Thanks!

Thanks Ned, but the copy of Lightroom is included in my purchase of a new Samsung NX 300 camera and the software is supposed to be a full version, albeit not the latest version of Lightroom...

How can I activate an old version of Photoshop that I've loaded on my new tablet? The web activation doesn't work, and when I call the number, it says it's not being used anymore. Meanwhile, I'm down to 13 days till it stops working due to not being activated. HELP?  I really need to continue using this product for my home business. It works fine not activated but the threat is that it will stop working in 13 more days if I don't get it activated, and none of the activation methods they list seem to work.

The new serial number is to the right of your chosen download.

how do i activate the student version of CS5 i purchased? its for my son who is a student at Digipen

And what exactly? You need to explain better and provide the necessary technical info. Also where did you get CS5? S&T licenses are only available as current versions and require registration with Adobe to prove eligibility.

  • How to activate the trial version of lightroom 3

    Hello,
I am new here and need some help.
I have downloaded the trial version of lightroom 3 in my home windows computer and like it very much. I have then proceeded to purchase a box copy which will only arrive after two weeks. However i do not plan to install it on my home computer but my new imac computer at my office where i will do all my photo editing.
My problem is i cannot wait for two weeks for the product to arrive. Can i download another trial version for my new imac in my office and when the box product comes can i just use the serial number and activate the trial version or do i have to uninstall the trial version and reinstall again. According to my seller she says that i cant do this because i need to reinstall the box product again which sounds weird to me.
My other question is the earlier trial version that i installed in my home computer, i dont plan to use it anymore, so can i just ignore it?
    Thanks in advance.

Importing photos puts information for each one into the LR catalog, which is just a database that LR knows how to read and write.  Reopening the catalog with a new install of LR would tell LR where each of those photos is, and what adjustments you'd made.  You don't have to reimport as long as you reopen the same catalog file with the new install.  You could try this on Windows:  uninstall-reinstall-reopen, and see how it works to get comfortable with it.   You only have to reimport if you lose your catalog, and have to start a new one.  If you write the metadata to files, either automatically via a preference, or manually via the Metadata menu item and grid mode, then you can even have your adjustments intact if you have to reimport, but you'll lose your history and other things that are only in the catalog and not in the XMP sidecar files.  These sidecar files is probably the only way to transfer edits from the PC version to the Mac version of LR which you probably hadn't considered.  At least I don't think you can copy the LR catalog file from a PC and open it on a Mac.
If the LR trial expires before you have a serial number then you can't use it, but once you do enter in the serial number, you can pick up where you left off.
Lightroom isn't activated like Photoshop where there is a Adobe-server record of each computer and serial number.  LR is just either an unregistered-trial, an expired-trial or registered.  LR is smart enough to understand if you've installed it on the computer, before, so you can't extend a trial by uninstalling and re-installing w/o reformatting your HD and reinstalling the OS, or at least I think that is enough.

  • How can I activate an old version of Dreamweaver on a new computer? (2004 version)

I had Dreamweaver 2004 on my old laptop which recently crashed.  I need to transfer the program to my new computer.  Online activation has been shut down for this version.  How can I activate it?

Keep in mind that 2004 software is more than a decade old now.  Adobe no longer supports it.  And it was never intended to run on modern operating systems so you may experience problems.  Also, web standards have changed a LOT in 10 years.  This might be a good opportunity to update your software.

  • How do I download and pay for standalone lightroom?

I've just wasted 30 minutes of my time on the Adobe website trying to figure out how to pay for a standalone version of Lightroom. It seems like the only options on the website are for me to buy via creative cloud.
I do not want to buy via creative cloud. If that is the only option then it has come time for me to part ways with lightroom.
Please help me with where / how to buy the standalone version.
I recognize that it is still possible to buy a standalone version from other online retailers (e.g. Amazon), but it seems INSANE to me that this is the only option.
There has to be a better way...

  • How can I remove an old version of Lightroom ? I use Mountain Lion on Mac.

    Hello,
I upgrade from Lightroom 3 to Lightroom 5. There was no problem. My pictures have been imported in Lightroom 5. But Lightroom 3 was not removed from my computer. How can I remove this old version in a good way ?
I use Mountain Lion on Mac.
    Thanks

I'm not a Mac user. But you remove Lightroom just like you would remove any other application from your system. If you purchased Lightroom 5 as an upgrade it probably depended on knowing the serial number of your Lightroom 3. I suggest that you store that Lightroom 3 serial number somewhere you'll remember because it will be needed if/when you decide to upgrade to a newer version of Lightroom.
And, just to clarify, there is no interdependence between your Lightroom 5 and Lightroom 3. They are separate, independent applications.

  • How to download the 32 bit version of Lightroom 3.3, with a Windows 7 operating system?

When I originally downloaded my version of lightroom, it was on my older computer- and the 32 bit was downloaded.  Have not had any problems with it.  When I re-downloaded lightroom onto my newer computer, it automatically downloaded the 64 bit version (because the new computer is Windows 7)... I didn't think any thing of it until I attempted to burn a disc and was unable to- so, it's basically useless to me.
So- I was told to uninstall the program and re-install (typing in same serial number) and to be sure to choose 32 bit this time... but i've done that and now realize that it doesn't even give me the option- just automatically downloads the 64 bit, so not sure what I am supposed to do now?    I had no idea that there would be issues with newer windows operating systems!
    Any advice????

And just to be totally clear, the only 'issue' with the 64bit version of LR3 was the lack of a dedicated "Burn to Jpeg" Export Preset, caused in turn by the lack of an appropriate 64-bit driver.....however, it was/is still easy enough to export to a CD/DVD using LR3 64-bit, simply by selecting the DVD drive in the Export Location field in the export dialog.
So no need to upgrade from LR3 to LR4 just to be able to burn a DVD (plenty of better reasons than that for upgrading), and also no need to downgrade LR3 from 64 bit version to 32 bit version either.

  • How can I activate an old version of Adobe Encore (1.5)?

I am trying to re-install my purchased version of Adobe Encore 1.5.  I realize this program is several years old and no longer supported, however, it still suits my needs and I would like to continue using my purchase.  Since the activation site is no longer available, I am unable to authorize it after install.  Is there a fix for this?  I've contacted Adobe support via chat and was told that chat/phone support will not address this issue since they no longer support the program.
Thanks in advance for any help!

oh, if premiere cs2 includes encore, you're probably ok (if you only use encore and not premiere, unless you also have a license for an old premiere version).

  • How can i download my windows version of Lightroom 4 to my mac?

Just purchased a Mac, have Lightroom 4 for Windows. How can I download to my Mac?

A lightroom license supports cross-platform installations, so for your Mac you can download the Mac version and use your serial number to activate it.

  • How can I uninstall the trial version of Lightroom 4.2?

I cannot uninstall the program via Windows Vista's "Uninstall or Change a Program." When I try the Uninstall command, I get this message: "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation," then this message, "You do not have sufficient access to uninstall Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2. Please contact your system administrator." When I try the Change command, a wizard appears with the options to either Repair the program or to Remove it. When I select the Remove option, I end up with messages similar to the above and a fatal error message (#1730, I think).
I am the sole user of my machine and its administrator. Is there an alternate method for uninstalling the program (apart from deleting everything and cleaning up the Registry)?
    Thanks.

In case someone is interested, I found a solution.
    1. Recall that when you extract the installation files from Lightroom_4_LS11.exe, you get a PDF file, Install Lightoom 4.exe, and a folder—Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4—that contains setup32.exe and setup64.exe. (I used Install Lightoom 4.exe to install the program because that seemed the obvious way of doing it.)
    2. Double-click one of the setup.exe. (In my case, I double-clicked setup32.exe.) A Wizard appears. This is the same Wizard that you get when you use the Change option through Control Panel > Programs & Features (which did not work, as mentioned in my original post).
    3. Select the Remove option. This time, it works. At least, it worked for me.

  • How do I download the latest version of Lightroom?

I click on the "download" button in Lightroom and it takes to me the website, downloads Creative Cloud (which is already up to date) and only gives me the option to "Try" Lightroom 5, which I already have. When I click on buy it tells me it is already part of my plan.

I have the same issue. I tried to run the update and now I get an error code 1. I've removed all Adobe products and tried using their cleaner, but nothing seems to be working. I hope this gets fixed.

  • How do I activate auto save and versions?

How do I activate auto save & versions?

Mountain Lion. Since ML, Auto Save and Version does not work with new user accounts I am creating. The accounts I moved from Lion MBA to Mountain Lion on my RMBP 15 have it enabled.
So: ML still has the feature, but you may not access it by Preferences. It does - only on new accounts - even not work with TextEdit. With the Accout I moved from Lion to Mountain Lion no such problems.

  • TS4223 I accidentally bought the HD version of a movie for my daughter's iPod nano (it can't be watched on the Nano).  So I'm trying to figure out how to re-download the SD version.  do I have to pay for the lower version??

I accidentally bought the HD version of a movie for my daughter's nano. you can't watch HD on a nano.  So I'm trying to figure out how to re-download the SD version.  This help screen makes it seem like you can just correct the problem and just "download" the lower version.  But when I follow the steps, I basically get to where I'm just having to actually purchase the other version.  Do I have to pay to get the lower quality version after I've already paid for the HD version?

When you purchase an HD movie or show, in most cases the SD copy can be downloaded from your purchases area in iTunes. On the main iTunes Store page, go to Purchases under the Quick Links and then select Movies or TV shows as appropraite. Click the "Not On This Computer" button. Uncheck the "Download HD when available" box and you should then see the SD copies of the movies/shows and be able to download them.
Note that with digital copies from a Blu-Ray or DVD, if it comes with an HD copy, you normally cannot get the SD copy as well and have to purchase it separately if you want it.
    Regards.
