How do I activate an iPhone if it has an old iCloud account set up that is not mine?
I bought an iPhone 4 from a friend that bought it from someone else and it has an iCloud account from the first owner that me and him do not know, how do I fix this?
Why would you buy an iphone if it needs a new motherboard, which by the way has nothing to do with the icloud activation lock.
Return the phone to your friend and get your money back.
I would re evaluate this friend of yours.

please help :-(That's Activation Lock. You will need to remember the Apple ID and password you used to set up the phone.
If you can't remember them, you can go to iforgot.apple.com to try to recover the information.
If you are the original owner of the phone & have proof of purchase, you can try calling Apple to see if they can assist also.

I just updated my iPhone 4s to iOS7. I had an old iCloud account on it that I have closed. How do i delete the account on the iPhone and update it to my new account?
I keep having this problem too, no one seems to know how to fix it. Can't delete the account without turning off the 'find my iphone' app. Cant' turn it off without the ID....it's a vicious cycle.

i have version 4.3.3 and am updating my iphone software. I am updating it on a computer that is not mine, as i only have an iPad. Can I do this without loosing my music, apps, photos, etc?
You do see the devices heading on the left sidebar? If you don't see the sidebar, go to View>Show sidebar in the iTunes menu and then check to see if the device appears.
If that isn't the problem, go through the troubleshooting steps. It could be the Apple Mobile Device Service issue.

How can i delete an old icloud account for which I do not have the password
I changed my iCloud and iTunes account on my MAC AIR to a new ID (successfully). The iTunes account on my iPad Air was also updated, but I can't change or get rid of the old iCloud account on my iPad and I don't know what the old password is for the old account. How can this account be deleted off my iPad, please help!
If your device is signed into an old iCloud ID that is an earlier version of the ID you want to sign in with, do the following:
If you are using iMessage and FaceTime, make sure you are signed into these services with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless you are using iCloud Photo Library). When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device). -

I have several company Iphones and Ipads that have been returned to me with Icloud accounts associated to them. The users did not use the corporate email address but rather a personal email address, so I do not have the passwords on these accounts. How do I do a factory default so I can re-iussue these to new users without the icloud password?

The issue you're describing is a security feature called Activation Lock. Without the Apple ID password of the account, you will not be able to erase and restore the devices.

Have been tring since long time in several ways, but couldnt find any source or a way to do it. And moreover my notes in Ihone are not getting synced with the iCloud. At the simplest level you simply copy the entire iTunes folder from user's music on the source computer to user's music on the target copmputer. It only gets complicated if you've started using a non-standard media folder or don't have the Keep... and Copy... options enabled.

Although your profile says you're running iOS 5.1.1 it sounds like you're running iOS 7 (otherwise you would not need your password to delete the old account). Assuming that's true, and your iCloud ID has changed but you need to delete the old account in order to change to your new one, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

IPhone locked to a stranger's icloud account- please help I am not a thief
I had bought iPhone 5 from AT&T the day it was released. After using it for a year and half, I decided to gift it to my dad. I completely wiped the phone to it's factory settings and shipped it to my dad. After my dad received the phone, he took it to a local store to get a new screen protector and a case. After he returned back home, he tried to use the phone but surprisingly the phone was in a lost mode with a message showing it is currently linked to an Apple ID d…[email protected]. Initially he thought the apple id that was showing on the phone belonged to me and asked me to remove it from the device. However, the problem was the apple id didn’t belong to me. I tried to contact the the email address and the phone number that was showing on the screen but they turned out to be bogus. My dad went back to the store but the owner of the store denied doing anything like that. I did some research on Google and came across this discussion where a person is also having the exact same “locked to a stranger’s apple id” issue. At this point, I am not sure if it was the store owner who locked my device or it is a bug in the iCloud system of which Apple is not aware of? I called Apple Support but the rep was kind of rude and just dismissed the case. Then I went to the Apple store with the proof of purchase and the original box but was turned back to Apple Support. The second rep whom I spoke with was professional and sounded helpful but it has been a week and haven't heard back from him yet.

In the real world, you don't have to involve the police if you simply loose your keys or if it gets stolen. There is nothing a police can do because the car is never stolen and is just sitting at the mall's parking lot all the time. Remember, only the keys were stolen. In my phone's case, the phone was never stolen however I do agree that it was in a vulnerable position when I did the factory reset and removed my icloud account from it. If a device is in such a position then anybody who has the physical access to the device can lock the device with their icloud account. And this is exactly what happend to my phone and this is exactly what I have been trying to explain to Apple Support. I understand they cannot just trust me and unlock the phone for me, but I expect them to tell me what's the next step for me to take. What document or proof do they need from me to show that I am the true owner? I can try and get the police involved even though the device is never stolen, but I first need to know which city police should I get involved- is it the Dallas Police, my home town police or the stranger’s home town police? The email address and the phone number shown on the locked screen are totally bogus and they don’t exist at all. I don’t even know where this stranger lives. Apple Support is simply ignoring me presuming that I am the thief and not trying to resolve the issue at all.

I have an iPod touch 4th generation, which is exactly what I wanted for a wifi supported multimedia device. I am trying to get the iCloud to work properly and despite of everything else working smoothly, I cannot seem to be able to get the Photo Stream working, in order to get the backup on iCloud. I tried to download the control panel and realised that it only supports the Vista SP2 and higher on Windows. Is there another way to get the settings on iCloud to include the photo stream?

My iPod touch is not connecting to my iCloud account, under iCloud settings it has my old email account and username that I have since updated and are working correctly on my iPad, any idea how I can reset this on the iPod or otherwise? This old account info keeps coming back on my iPod and messing up access to my apple account and now the icloud. last time a system restore needed to be done to fix it....
It won't give me the option to sign out of the old account, it's that light grey color that you can't click on. And since it has the old email address that it's telling me to go into to verify the account, I can't actually change it... I'm stuck
