How do I add a monitor dedicated to program monitor

I have a large high def program monitor I used to use with Media 100.  Is there a way I can use that to monitor the Premiere Pro desktop program monitor full time (rather than going to full screen and back to "normal?"  Mac Pro. 10.8.5  Premiere Pro.  Must be a way but can't find it in the manual?  (Just made the switch from Media 100 Suite to Premiere pro and finding my way.  Great program!)
Many thanks.
Ben Strasser

My set up is exactly like that ( but on a PC Windows) Nvidia Card  CC2014xx ( but this has worked since CS5 at least)
Application GUI all on one monitor ..second monitor is full screen HD ( that reflects the Program Monitor in the GUI). No Menu bar or navigation controls on this monitor.
FWIW - I use the Default Edit Workspace .
I just have my graphics card set up (Nvidia Driver) in Windows to acknowledge two Monitors identified as 1 and 2  (note both monitors are HD Monitors so no scaling involved)
In Premiere Preferences> Playback  I simply select the Monitors (check boxes) especially Monitor #2
That's it.
Note .  I do not drag application panes anywhere out of Default Workspaces. It is saved a s a Custom Workspace though.
This setup always plays out a full screen Monitor on #2.
If I use the "tilde" shortcut. on any panes....I get a full screen as well on #1
I can not drag any application windows onto #2.  They will disappear behind the full screen and one has to turn off Monitor 2 in the Playback Prefs to see them again and return them to #1.

  • How do I add an output for a 2nd monitor?

I have a mac mini that was purchased in 2009 I believe, maybe 2008. The operating system has been upgraded to Snow Leopard. I want to add a 2nd monitor, so I can use 2 at the same time, however, there is only one output. Is there a way to add an output for a 2nd monitor? OS is 10.6.X. not at the computer right now to check.
    Thanks for input.

If the back of your mini looks like this:
    - then you have two display ports already (Mini DVI Port and MiniDisplayPort). I only mention this, as it may not be obvious! You just need the right adapters to feed your two monitors.
    If it looks like this:
    - then you do indeed only have one display output (DVI) and then ignore me, and listen to Asatoran!

  • Question:  How can I change still image sizes in Program Monitor

All of a sudden, when I create a new title, it saves it as 1920 x 1080.  But my video is only 720 x 480.  I had hoped it was just the view in the Program monitor, but I saved the project, exported it and viewed it, and sure enough, my full page titles fill the entire screen, but my video is a tiny box in the middle of it.  I have tried to change the titles properties but can't figure out how.  I then changed the export size to 720 x 480, but it didn't help.

Correct your sequence settings or create a new sequence with the correct settings and import your existing sequence into it.

  • Source Monitor smooth, but Program Monitor STUTTERS

What would cause a clip to play smoothly in the SOURCE monitor, but to not play smoothly in the PROGRAM monitor? Playback resolution makes no difference.
I've tried using "New Sequence From Clip" - same problem. I'm not using an external monitoring device like AJA or Blackmagic.
Boggles my mind.  If you figure it out, I owe you lunch.
(Note: Sequence settings match, playback settings are the same for each monitor, software is CS5.5, computer is Mac Pro 3,1 with 10GB RAM, graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 3870, and hard drive is fibre channel RAID.)

Refresh rates are always the first thing to check - your external monitor should be set to the same refresh as the content. Playing 30p content on a 50Hz monitor will jitter and vice versa. That said I have never got external previews to playback without any stuttering at all and reading other posts around the only real solution is external hardware.

  • Source Monitor Works Fine, Program Monitor Not So Much...

For some reason, the source monitor displays video and playback speed is fine, but if I play video from the timeline, the playback is nonexistent.  Once I pause the timeline, the program monitor then displays the correct frame as indicated by the current playhead position.  What the heck?

  • How do I add music from another iTunes program onto a new one?

    Hello!
I recently downloaded Windows 8.1 onto my PC. I also had to download iTunes again, then I plugged in my iPod. Since I had to re-add all my music, I went into my iPod folders to find where I put my music (from before) to move it back into iTunes. The folder wasn't there, so I'm wondering if it's possible to find my old music again..(w/ out re-downloading everything)? It's all in my iPod; just not in iTunes.
I know this may seem like a stupid question w/ an obvious answer to some, but I just recently got my iPod, and still need time adjusting to iTunes. Thanks so much for reading this!

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
    1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
    2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
    3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod. And here is a guide about how to transfer iPod songs back to iTunes. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

When ever user enter a values in remaing fields, the 15 the field must be updated...
how can i achieve in module pool programming..................
i have one more problem. That is when user pressing any key.my content in table control r clearing..i need to restrict clearing values..how can i achieve it ...

    Maruthi

    maruthi,
    1. when user pressing any key.my content in table control r clearing..i need to
restrict clearing values..how can i achieve it ...
Ans. When ever you press button it will go first to PAI event and will go back to
PBO.So in PBO event you might have wriiten some coding that will get
process and  updated in Table control. That time your updated data will get
           removed.
For this take all your function codes of your buttons on screen and write
            condition
              if sy-ucom ne 'ADD'  or
                 sy-ucom ne 'Delete'.
********Here you keep your  PBO code
             endif.
    Now it will work fine.
2.When ever user enter a values in remaing fields, the 15 the field must be updated
Ans)After you entered the data in 14 fields some event has to get trigger then
only  you can achieve your goal.
    In PBO write
             If SY-UCOM is eq 'ADD'.
collect all fields records and add here
move total value to 15th record .
              Endif.
when you press ADD button  you will achieve .
    Pls. reward if useful

  • How can an add-on like Firesheep access and execute an external program like Winpcap? Is that a security flaw in Firefox?

I have been reading about the Firesheep add-on that allows the user to hijack sessions of users on the network by stealing the cookie. I understand that to prevent any application from stealing the cookie, the cookie should not be passed by the site without SSL. However, my understanding of how Firesheep works is that it interfaces with Winpcap (a network sniffer). So my question is "How can an add-on execute an external program or operating system command like Winpcap?" Can any add-on do this and should I be extremely afraid of downloading any add-on because of the potential that it could have complete access to my system?

    Hi Scott-L.
You asked a very good question and it turns out you're right.
However, one must be aware that download an Addon on another website that Mozilla may be dangerous. Indeed, the Addons found on the Addon Center are checked (roughly).
In addition, Firefox includes a blacklist that blocks addons identified as malicious.

  • Program monitor activates automatically when sequenz starts to play

    Hey,
This really slows down my personal workflow, whenever I hit spacebar the "program monitor" gets active, but I have my "projekct monitor" in the same spot and I want to browse my footage as the sequenz is playing  and since I have a second monitor for the video to playback I actually never really need to have the programmonitor active. is there any solution how i can deactivate the autoactivation (auto foreground) program monitor?
I hope I explained it somewhat understandable :/
    thanks!

That is a function of Windows, not Firefox. Just add a shortcut to Firefox to the Programs > Startup menu.

  • Switching ExternalMonitor View from "Source Monitor" to "Program Monitor"?

This worked fine in CS6, but I switched to Premiere CC and my external monitor is displaying the contents of Premiere's "Source Monitor" only, not the "Program Monitor". When the Timeline or Program monitor is selected, the extrenal monitor is black. But slecting Source Monitor plays fine on the extrenal moitor (through SDI connection)
How do I switch to the viewing the Program Monitor signal in my external monitor instead of the Source Monitor?
Tech Setup: using Blackmagic ultrastudio mini monitor to send SDI signal. Have installed the latest driver for the Blackmagic ultrastudio, which is approved for Adobe CC. Everything works perfectly in Premiere CS6, it's an issue inside Premiere CC.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for your help Peter!
    >>What Premiere and Blackmagic version are you on?

  • View two program monitors to match colors (CS6)

    Hi,
I'm trying to color match two shots and I'd like to be able to view them side by side while I adjust the colors in one of the shots. It seems like a good way to do this would be to view two program monitors side by side - but is that possible? I can't see that option anywhere.
Using the source monitor for comparison doesn't make sense to me as I've already color corrected the reference shot and the source monitor shows the original footage (ie. the wrong colors). I could of course try to match the shots based on the source footage of the reference shot and then apply a second color correction but that seems a bit unnecessary to me.
Or - I remember that in FCP7 there is  an option to use split screen while color correcting two view two shots simulatenously side by side in the same screen/monitor. Is there anything like that hidden in PPro?
I'm also happy for any other suggestions on how to do this.
    Thanks!

Open  the graded clip  in a Reference Monitor.
Un gang Ref Monitor from the Program Monitor and then start work on the other clip.
    eg.
    or..maybe
    Quick and dirty way...
Frame Grab graded clip. Open it in the Source Monitor as reference. Flick back and forth.
BTW: CC Speedgrade has excellent multi monitor support  (2 or 3 playheads) for this  as well as a fairly good match clip facility (FWIW)

  • Question about going from source monitor into timeline prior to going into program monitor?

In FCP you had to take a clip from the equivalent of the Source Monitor to the Program Monitor and either do an insert or overwite edit with the clip from there. I see that Premiere has insert and overwrite buttons built right into the Source monitor window. Are there any issues with doing it all from here and not dragging them into the Program Monitor first?
    Thanks.

Typical NLE behavior is to go from the Source Monitor to the Timeline.  The Program Monitor shows whatever is in the timeline.  If FCP forced you to go from Source to Program, and then to timeline, that is very unusual behavior for an NLE since, again, the Program monitor is supposed to show you what's in the timeline.
What PP now allows you to do is drag a clip from Source to Program, but this will simultaneously add the clip to the timeline because, as I said, the Program Monitor's purpose is to show you what's in the timeline.  With most any NLE out there, if it ain't in the timeline, it won't show up in the Program Monitor.  And if it shows up in the Program Monitor, then it must already be in the timeline.

  • Source monitor to program monitor issues

I cant drag footage from the source monitor to the program monitor window to add it to the sequence timeline. I get a hand symbol instead Mac os 10.8.4 / CS6

sure that works, but I'm trying to follow a tutorial and can't see any reason why my software dosen't do as the tutorial suggests it should . .

  • Premiere CC 2014.2 won't play source/program monitor

I recently installed Adobe Premiere CC 2014.2, and since then no video plays within it, or the source and monitor or the program monitor.
