How do I add a new e-mail account?

I just moved and have had my e-mail on my Mac Pro registered to Comcast, but that account has been closed since and I can't seem to add a new e-mail to receive my mail on the lap top.

Hello, on about the second step, it doesn't give you a choice of POP, IMAP, or Exchange? Or does it change it to POP if you choose IMAP anyway?

Add a new IMAP Mail Account

Hello there,
I am trying to add a new IMAP account to my Outlook but strangely if the system is doing the Tests it sticks at the first one - The Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP). The problem it keeps up prompting asking again and again for my credentials.
Ia sure that my credentials are right.
I already deleted my Profile and created a new one but the Problem keeps there. I already have other IMAP Mail adresses at with them its working all fine. Furthermore it works to create the account on a different Client such as Thunderbird.
Any suggestions?!

If the credential is correct, then it should be a confirguration issue. Have you clicked the "More settings..." button and set the correct port for Outgoing server (SMTP)? You might need to check with your ISP for the settings
and make sure you have entered them correctly in "More settings" dialog.
Another workaround that worth a try is go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Credential Manager, then
delete all the items listed under "Generic Credentials". Just pressing the down arrow button off to the right and then click "Remove".

I set up a mail account on my IPad. Works Fine
On My mac I have custom mailboxes I set up for customers as well as Saved items. I synced my IPad through ITunes ( selecting to Sync Mail accounts), but these mailboxes didn't come over.

A few weeks ago, I changed my Apple ID on iCloud via my computer but I can't update my Apple ID on my iPhone 5s. ITunes won't let me back up my phone to iCloud or install software/App updates.
I need this problem fixing ASAP as I use my iPhone as my main device (E-Mail's, Calendars, Social Media, E.t.c.) for work so what should I do?

If your device is signed into an old ID that is an earlier version of the ID you want to sign in with, do the following:
If you are using iMessage and FaceTime, make sure you are signed into these services with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless you are using iCloud Photo Library). When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

Change default name when adding new e-mail account

When I try to add a new e-mail account in MacMail, the populated default name for the user is incorrect. I have to change it to my name and was wondering where this is coming from and how to remove it.

Did this ever get answered somewhere? I would like to change mine also.

Can I add a new e-mail account just to send or forward out messages? The reason of this is that I do not want these messages downloaded off the server.  I use another (non BB) e-mail client that accesses this account and I want the mail to go there. When I tried to add this account with a dummy password, BB could not verify it and would not let me add it. Is there a work around?

Hi there!
If I am understanding you correctly, you want to be able to send from an email account on your BB, but not receive from that account on the BB. If so, then don't use a dummy password. Rather, configure the account properly but then set the default filter to "Do Not Forward" and then nothing will come down to the BB from the Server.

One thing that might help out.
To add a folder or a mailbox to your existing account, you need to add it on your computer.
Now, this will work and reflect to the iphone if you are using an imap or exchange account.
If you are using a pop account, you will not be able to add a folder to an account on the iphone.

You should not need to enter anything. the iCloud service is one of the preconfigured options.
Just choose the iCloud type from the Add new Mail screen, and enter your details in the next screen.
If you don't have the iCloud option, but instead have the mobileMe option then you will need to update your iOS.
