How do I add a printer to my macbook pro from my home wireless network?

I have a wireless network that includes a printer, a pc, and my MacBook Pro.  When I go into system preferences and printers the wireless printer does not appear in the list.  What do I need to do to add this wireless printer to my MacBook Pro?

Which os do you have?

    What printer?
In general, you can download and install the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.

  • After downloading the hp 3054A software I cannot add the printer to my macbook pro

I recently tried to add my hp 3054A printer to my macbook pro.  After downloading the software from hp's website I tried to add the printer to my macbook pro and keep getting the error message The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer’s manufacturer for the latest software.  This is after I initially get the message  Software for this printer is available from Apple. Would you like to download and install it?
I have tried adding HP printer software from Apple's site but that did not help.  Any help with this is much appreciated!

  • How do I add a book on my MacBook Pro to my iPad 3

I have an iPad 3 on iOS 8
    I have a MacBook Pro on 10.9.5
I have 4 PDF/Epub/Mobi files on my Mac.
How do I add books to iTunes?
How do I view the books I have in iTunes?
How do I add them to my iPad so they'll be in iBooks?

On a Mac with Mavericks (or Yosemite) installed on it you don't add them to iTunes, that is only used as a tool for syncing your books to the iBooks app on your iOS devices, iTunes isn't used for managing them.
For the books that are compatible with iBooks (you probably won't be able to copy the Mobi files into it) then you can add them to the iBooks app on your Mac either via the File > Add To Library menu option within the app, or by dragging and dropping them onto it.
If you connect your iPad to your Mac's iTunes they should then show on its Books tab for selecting and syncing to the iBooks app on the iPad
For the mobi book, you will need an app on your iPad that supports more books e.g. the Kindle app.
For Kindle, and possibly other mobi apps, you can add books to the app by selecting the iPad's Apps tab, scroll down the right-hand side of the screen to the file sharing section, select the app that you want to copy the book to, and add it to the app.

  • How do I add memory to my 2011 Macbook Pro

I bought my Macbook Pro in May 2011. I want to add some memory to it. What, how, where?
    Don't know how to proceed

Assuming that you have a early 2011 MBP, it will accept up to 16 GB RAM with the following specifications:  204-pin PC-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM.
The best sources for Mac compatible RAM are OWC and Crucial.
Please look at this video for installation instructions:

  • How do I update my contacts on my MacBook pro from my iPhone or iMac?

my contacts on my MacBook pro are out of date. How do I update them from my iPhone or Imac?

    Hey there dgt11,
It seems like you may have missed that section of the article I provided, so I will go ahead and highlight it for you:
    OS X Lion or later
You can use these steps with Contacts on OS X Mountain Lion or later or Address Book on OS X Lion. After each step, check to see if the issue still exists.
Make sure iCloud Contacts is on
Choose Apple () > System Preferences, click iCloud, and select Contacts.
See which version of OS X you're using
Make sure that you're using OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later. Learn how to see which version of OS X you're using.
    Check your Internet connection
Try to go to www.apple.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud contacts won't update in Contacts or Address Book. Get help with your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to see if you can access ports 80 and 443. Safari requires access to port 443 to push and fetch updates to and from the iCloud Contacts servers.
    Check your account details
Choose Apple () > System Preferences, and click iCloud. Make sure that you're signed in to the same iCloud account that you're using on your other supported devices.
    Refresh Contacts or Address Book
If recent changes don't appear in Contacts or Address Book, try to refresh by quitting and reopening the app.
    Check your settings
Make sure that the contacts are syncing through iCloud and not through a third-party, such as Google or Yahoo. iCloud won't sync contacts that are associated with a different service.
Open Contacts (or Address Book on OS X Lion).
Click All [iCloud Account Name] in the left sidebar.
Search for the contact that wasn't syncing properly.
If the contact isn't visible, then the contact exists in a third-party account, not iCloud.
You can import the contact from a third-party account into iCloud.
If recent changes to contacts on OS X don't appear on your other devices and you're syncing contacts with multiple accounts on your device (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo), make sure that iCloud is your default account for Contacts:
Open Contacts (or Address Book on OS X Lion).
Choose Contacts > Preferences (or Address Book > Preferences on OS X Lion).
On the General tab, make sure that your iCloud account is the default.
After setting up iCloud Contacts, you might need to quit and reopen Contacts or Address Book on your Mac. Then make sure that you set up your account correctly in Contacts or Address Book:
Open Contacts (or Address Book on OS X Lion).
Choose Contacts > Preferences (or Address Book > Preferences on OS X Lion).
    Click Accounts.
Make sure that your iCloud account has the correct name in the Apple ID field.
Turn iCloud Contacts off and back on
Quit Contacts (or Address Book on OS X Lion).
Choose Apple () > System Preferences and click iCloud.
    Deselect Contacts.
    Click Keep Contacts.
Close System Preferences and wait about a minute.
Open System Preferences and choose iCloud.
    Select Contacts.
    Open Contacts (or Address Book).
    Restart your computer
Restart your computer and check the issue.

  • How do I add more memory to my MacBook Pro?

I have 320 GB but it's not nearly enough and, ideally, I'd like to add another 500GB.
Is that possible, how do i do it, and what are the risks?
I mentioned it in passing when I was in the Apple Genius Bar on something else and they suggested they might help (which surprised me, as I presumed Apple wouldn't necessarily endorse doing it).
    Thank you.

I have a number of external hard drives but I carry my Mac with my quite a lot so I want a bigger hard drive within the computer. Any UK users recommend somewhere to buy from and what brand?
    Thanks

  • How can I add my own screensaver? Macbook pro 10.8.2

once upon a time i found a screen saver and i downloaded it, it was cool, i just recently upgraded to mountain lion and for some reason it is way out of alignment and all pushed up to the top of the screen. So I went to the website to see if I could get a newer more up to date copy, I downloaded one but now i have no idea how to add it into the list of them to choose from. Any help would be apreciated, Thanks, Ben D.

It isnt an image, this is where i got it from; http://thecolourclock.co.uk. and there is no folders button in that screen on mountain lion.

  • How do I change the printer settings on macBook pro OSX v10.8.1?

I am trying to print a webpage but i want it in duplex format (two pages front and back on one sheet). The default is set to "one sided". I can't seem to change the presets (under presets > show presets > copies and pages > settings and value). Usually we can change the value, ie. the number of copies and change the format to "duplex". I can't seem to change the value.

I am running Leopard OS in 64 bit mode. Everytime I want to run my Cisco VPN client I reboot it in 32 bit mode by holding the two keys (don't remember what two keys at the moment).  I am looking for another way to run my Cisco VPN.  I don't see the check box labeled "Open in 32-bit mode" .  The only thing I see is "Open in Rosetta" or something like that.  Is the check box "Open in 32-bit mode" only show in Lion X OS?

  • How do I add external monitors to my MacBook Pro?

What is the best way to use two external monitors with my MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010) with minimal latency?

The MacBookPro only has enough horsepower in the video card for one external monitor.
If you want two or more, you need a MacPro.
Or a MacBook Pro and a Remote Desktop controlled MacMini.

  • HT1420 How do I deauthorize my old (and dead) Macbook pro from my new MBP?

I just got a new mbp because my old faithful had its logic board die on me. I also have an iPad, a regular MAcBook and two iphones on this account. How can I authorize my new computer when my old one is dead and I already have 4 other devices?
    -Marcia

About De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
    Open iTunes on a computer
From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
Also, see iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.

  • How can I stop the wifi causing my MacBook Pro from crashing?

    Hi,
It seems that my notebook is locking up completely when Mail launches and tries to grab emails.
Occasionally I boot up and the 'wifi fan' icon on the menu bar is completely white: it doesn't find the router signal automatically.
If I get the 'three arcs: full signal" on the menu bar and I surf, I can get to a few pages, then I can't get another page to load up: but the 'three arcs' are still there.
If I click on the wifi fan logo and switch off wifi, when I try to switch it back on again, it simply won't show the 4 different signals it used to give me yesterday (mine and my neighbours). This is weird as in the past I could get surfing to work again by switching off wifi and switching it back on again. Not any more. So now I have to do a restart to get wifi working again. Yuck!
I also got a complete crash when I got iTunes to download some updated apps for my iPhone.
The following may or may not be related... I've just plugged in my iPhone, and I get a window saying "A new network interface has been detected. The 'iPhone USB" network interface has not been set up. To set up this interface, use Network Preferences." I have never seen this before, but I clicked on the button and the notebook seems happy now.
I look forward to your comments and suggestions! Thanks for being there!

Use a cloud serivce like Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, etc.
Personally, I use Box and it works very well.
