How do I add an outline to text?

Surely there must be a simple way to outline text in Keynote and I am just missing it somehow. I found how to turn the text into an outline but I want the text to remain solid, not hollow.

Converting text to an outline as we know it in other design programs (not outlining the text which is possible) is not possible in Keynote.
I use outlining all the time to create curved text. My favorite workaround for this is to create something in a third party program such as iDraw (think Adobe Illustrator made natively for Mac) and then simply copying it into Keynote. It will not be editable in Keynote, but since it's pasted as a PDF (read vector), you can scale it beautifully. Plus, you don't have to export it - just copy and paste!
The same workflow works for Illustrator, just make sure you're in the right color mode otherwise it may look funky!

  • How do I create an outline around text please

hi all, How do I create an outline around text please
    thanks,

You can see here that you can simply apply a stroke to live text by double clicking the stroke icon in the bottom left of the toolbar and selecting a color. I chose red.
If you select the text, then go to Type > Create Outlines, you get more options in the stroke palette, like whether the stroke is aligned to the outside or inside of the text object's boundary. The text below is outlined with the stroke aligned to the outside.

  • How do I add an email body text for remittance advices / payment advices?

    Hello,
I am trying to send an email body text with the pdf remittance advice to my vendors.
    Background:
We are running automatic payments to vendors via transaction F110. We have configured the pay run to produce remittance advices for vendor payments. Finally we activated the BTE 00002040, through transaction FIBF, to use a custom copy of the function module SAMPLE_PROCESS_00002040.
Our payment run sends emails with pdf-file attachments to our vendors correctly.
    <b>The Issue:</b>
I can not find a way to add text to the body of the email with the attached remittance advice.
Has anyone advise on how to populate the email body with text?
    Thank you and best regards

    Hello Subhashree,
I have not implemented the functionality, but I found rerference to SAP Note 1033893 in another forum post.

  • How can I add footnotes to a text in a table?

To make use of a wider margin next to longer texts I usually work with two column tables in WORD. No problem to add footnotes to a text there.
How can I add footnotes to text in a table when using PAGES?
Or -alternatively - how can I write an ordinary text that has still a wider margin into which you can add annotations, notes etc.?

Footnotes doesn't work for tables in Pages. You can create columns in Pages. You can use Insert column break to  being able to keep some text in one column and some in the other. Foot notes will work here.

  • How do I add numeric values as text in XML??

    HI,
So, I've developed a 3d carousel using this tutorial and the  XML, and customized the XML in Dreamweaver.
    http://www.gotoandlearn.com/play?id=33
Now,  I've got the carousel set up exactly the way I would like, but the only  trouble, is how do I add numeric values as the text for the xml file???
Here's an example to the working carousel and where text is loaded for each item on it.  (put your sound on mute if you don't want to hear the video)
    http://iongeo.com/collaboration_test_dev/video_arctic_imaging.html
For  example, in my XML, if I would like the text to be "3d images", when I  export the FLA, only "d images" comes through because the numeric  values can't be added as the text for the tooltip.
    Does anyone  have any ideas?
Here is an example of how the XML is loaded into  the .swf - the text loads great, but just not the numeric characters.
The  same story can be said for special characters, I would like to know how  to add a "&" sign too.
    <icons>
    <icon  image="images/Subsalt_E_P_Partnerships.png" tooltip="3D Images"  content="Text Copy.">
    </icon>
    </icons>
Any  help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Randy,
Thanks a lot for the reply.  Your post got me thinking that it's actually a flash problem, as the actual descriptor text shows 123,etc and "&".
The trouble is that the icons are dynamically loaded from the XML to movie clips on the flash file.  I've asked the flash forum to see if they could take a look.
    Thanks again.

  • How do I add an outline around an image in Elements 10

I have an image that I created via Elements 10... The main body of the image is black and I am wanting to add a white outline around the image so I can place the image on a black background... Can someone advise how to add an outline including colorizing the outline around the image... Thanks

Depending on what you want, you may need to add some canvas to give the border a place to be (Image>Resize>Canvas Size) but you can just press Ctrl+A/Cmd+A to select all, then go to Edit>Stroke (outline) selection, where you can choose the parameters of the border stroke. You can't choose Outside for the location, though, since that would put it off the canvas entirely where it wouldn't be visible.

  • How do i add a an editable text area along with a basic shape?

    hiee
Thank u guys for replying to my previous query.I got the solution.
Now ,my problem is, whenever i am drawing a new shape on the panel i want to add an editable text area along with the shape so that the shape can be given a userdefined name(something like Rational Ross).
I am using g.drawString() but with that i can only add a static string.
How can i add a JTextField or JTextArea along with the shape??
    Thanking u guys in advance.
    anvesha.

It is considered standard procedure to acknowledge people's replies in the corresponding thread.
As for your current problem, you'll have to make sure that the component you're subclassing is at least a Container. A JPanel could be a good pick. Set the layoutManager to null. Add your JTextField to your JPanel and use myTextField.setBounds(x, y, width, height) to place it whereever you want.

  • How can you add comments to a text file while using a Digital Waveform vi?

Hi. I'm very new to Labview. I have a txt file of 1's and 0's wired to a "read from text file" which is then wired to a "spreadsheet string to digital.vi" ("digital waveform") and lastly to a graph. I want to add notes to the txt file that will not be read in the digital waveform. i.e. Like how you use // or /* in a C++ program to show that you are writing a comment and not code.
    Labview version: 8.5
    Thank you

You will just need in your text file a line at a time.  Search the string for the characters // or /*.  If it finds them, then loop back and read another line.  If it doesn't find them, you must have a good line of data and you can pass on to the next part of your cod.

I'm trying to make some text have a gradient color. I write the text, simplify it and then use the gradient tool normally, however, it's applying the gradient to the entire layer instead of just the text. Does anyone know what's going on or what I'm doing wrong? I searched the adobe support for how to add the gradient and followed the insturctions but it's still not working. Any help is appreciated!

Your layers panel should look like this afterwards:

  • How do I add color to a text box border in Pages app?

Can't find it anywhere. And don't have time to keep looking. Wondering if you can do this in Pages (in Word, you insert text box, then under Format you get in drop down menu "Borders and Shading" and then you can add color just to the border).
Can you do this in Pages app? I've looked everywhere.
Thanks! You'll save me a boatload of time.

    Pages ’09 v4.3
    Inspector > Graphic > Stroke
    Pages v5.2.2
    Format > Style > Border
In either case, the color well will appear.

  • How do I add color to a text field?

I'm setting up a simple Flash contact form that sends a mail message using PHP. I'm using the Text Input and Text Field components and would love to style the background tint of the text fields so as to not be white. I want to be able to enter my own hexidecimal number. This seems like it should be easy, like a button or property or something, but I can't figure it out. Please help!
Using Flash CS4 on a Mac, in an ActionScript 2.0 file. (Can make a 3.0 file if necessary).

I'm not sure how to create an input textfield other than dragging out a component. What's the difference?
Also, this is a difficult one to search for, since all of my attempts have given me answers on how to style the text in the field, but not the background color of the field.
Any good tutorials on how to create custom skins?

  • How do I add multiple spaces to text in an existing PDF document?

I am currently adding text - not annotations - to a PDF and wish to double space between sentences: I thought this would be such a simple task!
Logically, Acrobat is refusing to save the spaces when  I click out of the text box - so what I'm asking is, can I switch modes so that it will accept multi-spaced text, or is it impossible?
    Thanks in advance folks.

Acrobat is not a word processing application and many times editing text in a PDF file will fail miserably, although it has greatly improved in version XI compared to earlier versions.

  • How do I add an outline to a check box in InDesign CS6?

We have a series of existing documents (that were not produced by us) where the check boxes show up as purple boxes in the exported interactive pdfs. Our client wants us to amend the check boxes so that they show up in the pdf as purple boxes with a .25pt black outline, (which would also show up if the pdf was printed).
In the InDesign document the check boxes already have a 1pt black outline (which doesn't show in the pdf). I can change the 1pt outline to ,25pt, but it still doesn't show in the pdf.
We have other documents with check boxes where the outline does show up in the exported pdf, but we can't see any difference at all in the properties of the check boxes, so we can't see why some outlines work and others don't.
Any help would be gratefully received!

    insigniagraphics,
    Here are the step-by-step instructions.
I assume you already have checkboxes on your ID document. If you don't, skip to the end of this post.
Select one and then switch to the Direct Selection (white arrow) tool.
Double click the edge of the check. You will see a blue frame around the check.
Select that blue frame with the Direct Selection tool. You have just selected the frame.
Go to the Stroke controls and make it Black.
You now have an outline around the check. This is what it will look like when it is chosen.
But your boss probably wants the outline also to be around the area of the check when it is not chosen.
Keep the form selected and switch to the Normal (off) state.
Use the Selection tool to select the frame edge again and apply the stroke.
You now have outlines around each check and in the empty spaces.
BTW the purple is deceptive and depends on Acrobat's settings.
    End of the post:
Just start with a frame that has a stroke and you will have one when you convert it to a form.
