How do I add apps to the iCloud backup

I have iCloud backup up turned on and have purchased additional space to use. However the apps selected by the system do not include the ones I want. In fact it is not the whole system at all. How can I modify this please

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • How do I delete apps from the icloud account ?

When I download an old app that used to work perfectly , it no longer works . I was told to delete it from my devise and reload it from the app store but I do not get that option when i search the app. I only get the option to load it from the cloud and it doesn't work once loaded. How can I delete the app from the icloud so as to download the app directly from the app store ?

Downloading it from the cloud is downloading it from the App store.
Your most likely problem is that your iOS is too old to run the App, unless you can update your iOS there is little you can do about this.

    Try a reset:
    1. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together)
    2. For about 10 seconds
    3. Until you see the Apple logo (very important)

  • How do we add apps to the 'Open With' contextual menu?

After I updated to Mavericks, all of the apps, except the Apple ones, were blown away (eg. Word and Excel in my VM).
How do I put them back?

'Open With > Other' would not show the apps in my VM.  I tried.
I tried something different.  I left Word open in my Parallels (Vista) VM and ignored it for a while to see if Maverics would pick it up eventually.
    It did.
It seems like that it takes some time for Maverics to find the apps in a VM before we can use it in the 'Open With' menu.

  • How do you add apps to the 32gig ipod touch

Hi all, just a quick question, how do you transfer apps, what have been bought or whats free to the ipod touch? i've got loads on the laptop, but can't seem to transfer to the ipod touch cheers

Go to the Applications tab, with ipod attached to itunes and select to sync apps and select the ones you want to sync - same as music, photos, videos, etc.
You have to have software version 2.0 or later on your ipod touch for this.

  • How do I get rid of the iCloud Backup notification that's locking my iPad in order to connect to wifi and update?

I just moved to a remote area, and it has taken a while for my internet to be hooked up. I haven't really used my iPad since I got here, but now that I have wi-fi I went to turn it on, and I got an iCloud Backup message that says, "This iPad hasn't been backed up in 7 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked, and connected to wi-fi." I hit OK but it won't go away, and I cant get into my settings or any other app while it's up. So, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get it connected to the wi-fi? I tried plugging it in, and it didn't work. I can't even turn it off...any ideas?

Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.  This only restarts it; you won't lose any data by doing this.

  • HT4910 I do not want to backup my email, how do I remove this from the icloud backup?

I do not want to back up my emails to iCloud, how do I deselect my emails to free up space on my iPhone?

You can't deselect it.  Your mail isn't stored in your iCloud backup, it's stored on the iCloud mail server and the space used is charged to your storage plan.  If you want to delete some of your mail so that it takes up less space you can do that either on your phone or on icloud.com, but if you delete it, it will be deleted from the server and therefore from all of your devices that access your mail account as well.

  • How can I add photos in the Camera roll to My photo stream if they were taken prior to icloud being activated?

How can I add photos in the Camera roll to My photo stream if they were taken prior to icloud being activated?

You have a couple of options:
    Open the photos one at a time and take a screenshot.  This will add a new low resolution copy of the photo to the camera roll, which will then upload to your photo stream;
    Email the photos one at a time to yourself, then save the attached photos to your camera roll.  This will add a copy of the photo at full resolution to your camera roll and upload to photo stream;
Use an app like PhotoSync, which will allow you to wirelessly transfer copies of all your old photos to your computer all at once.  Then delete these photos from your camera roll and use PhotoSync to transfer them back from your computer to your camera roll.  These will be the original resolution and will upload to your photo stream.  (You need an app like this because iTunes will not transfer photos back to your camera roll, where they must be in order to add to your photo stream.)

Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  This will erase your device.  Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your device was new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.

Be aware that photos should always be synced to a computer for archiving and that relying on a restore from an icloud backup may not return all (or any) of your photos.  Once on the computer, you can sync the photos to the new device...

  • How do I remove an app from my Icloud backup?

I'm not even sure I'm asking the right question.  I want to reinstall an app at the recommendation of my IT admin.  When I delete it from my phone and tehn attempt to reinstall from the app store, it is coming from the cloud.   I assume that's my icloud backup storage.   If that's the case, I'm not getting a new copy of the app but a copy of the one that was on my phone.  How do I remove something from my icloud backup permanently.

It isn't reinstalling it from your backup.  The cloud symbol is just a link to your previously purchased apps in the app store so you can easily download them again.  When you tap it, it will download it again from the app store.
(The backup doesn't included purchased apps and media, it only includes a record of your purchased media.  When you restore a backup it downloads the purchased apps and media from the iTunes store.)

how can i add apps to my ipod touch 2 with ios 4.2.1

Same way as always. Purchases directly for the App store on the iPod or download on your computer and sync to your iPod. To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
    Vintapps 3.1.3 - paid app.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
