In pse 9 there is a button at the bottom of the layers panel, which you press
to get the list of adjustment layers.
Also Layer>New Fill Layer>Solid Color.

One can use a Layer Mask and add a white Layer underneath.

I created a project in Premiere CC. I have one video layer, I added an adjustment layer, I send the project to Speedgrade via DirectLink. When I select the adjustment layer in Speedgrade I'm unable to add any keyframes to it, they are greyed out. I can add them to the video layer with clips just fine. What am I doing wrong? How can I add keyframes to an adjustment layer?

I use Itunes for my iphone from my windows laptop. I have about half my music on itunes so far, and have a USB drive with all my songs (mp3) which is all I have on the laptop plus way more. How can I add just the songs that are NEW to itunes?

If you want to bookmark the current page, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+d to add the bookmark.
If you prefer to type the address, or you need to bookmark a page that is not displayed, right-click an existing bookmark on the Bookmarks menu (or in the folder where you want to add the bookmark) and choose New Bookmark.

You still have to sync the photos. Just select the photo albums that you want to sync to the iPad. You can include as many albums as you want and remove whichever ones you don't want to sync.
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Select the folder from which you want to sync your photos - usually iPhoto on a Mac
Click on all of the albums that you want to include in the sync
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
Any albums that you don't include in the sync preferences will be removed when you sync. So if you want to keep the albums that are already on the iPad, make sure that stay selected to sync.
If you are running iTunes 11 and do not see the sidebar and the iPad name under the devices heading - go to View>Show Sidebar from the menu at the top.

Could someone please advise me how I can add more than one video to a track/layer?
I'm cutting and pasting parts and each time I paste, a new track/layer is added.
The final video is going to be approximately 5 minutes long.
I am 17 seconds in and have 54 tracks already!
How do I stop this?

More video tracks. This is actually what you want.
Unless you're just making a still image (like Photoshop), multiple layers give you control to animate each individually. (If it's just a Photoshop comp you're after, you may want to create it in Photoshop)
If you want to move ALL OF THE VIDEO TRACKS TOGETHER, you can use
parenting or
precompose those individual layers into a single composition.

Essentially the Hub area is a home screen dedicated to your communication. Tap on the lower left icon and each of your messaging sections has its own dedicated 'icon.' As JC mentioned, it is new and it may take a while to get used to it.. but once you do it really is a great way to deal with the unified messaging idea and it also allows you to break down what you are looking at very quickly. There is no way to password-protect apps (on a non-jailbroken device), but you can password lock the entire device in which case nobody would be able to get into your email (or your device, period) unless you unlocked it for them or they knew the code. Like Meg St._Clair suggested, the best idea is to use the web browser on your iPad (whether it be Safari, Skyfire, etc.) to access your email, then be sure to sign out when done, ensuring others can still use your device, but can't access your email account.

How do I add a gradient to a layer mask to counteract a gradual change in tone from one end of a photo to the other?

I swear I must be going nutso. I have a photo taken with a rather extreme 10mm shift of a shift lens, which consequently has a gradual darkening toward the top of the photo. No problem, says I. I just added a layer mask, clicked on the gradient tool and drew a line (in the appropriate direction) with that tool. What I got was a transparent area at the black end (of the gradient applied to the mask) grading to the darker part of the image showing through at the other end (of the gradient.)
I've done this before, and did the above instinctively, so I thought I was doing it right. When it didn't work, I tried applying the mask and gradient to a duplicate background layer, then flattening the image. Nada.
Jees. Something set wrong? A different blend mode than normal? I even checked with a CS6 guide by Martin Evening, who seems to be able to do exactly what I wanted with no trouble.
Or......maybe I am going nutso :).

Thanks, that's exactly what I've done.....now I'm at least certain I'm not going nutso . Specifically, I have image 2 stacked above image 1, with the mask for image 2 appearing on the same layer. However, when I apply the gradient, exactly as you have indicated, I do not get image 4. Instead I get image 2 showing through at the top where the mask is white, and then a gradual fade over the black part of the mask to the diamond pattern typical of transparent layer.
Well, I be darned. I just tried it again and now it's working exactly as you described and exactly as I had expected it to. I was using a .psd and wondered if that were the problem, although why I couldn't imagine. So chose a .dng I had just downloaded and the process worked perfectly. Huh? So I went back to the .psd (a test image that I had done to see how much falloff there would be using this shift lens at it's fullest shift) and it worked perfectly also. I have no idea. I promise you I did exactly as you indicated above in all the times I tried to get the falloff subdued. Yes, I did the mask in the right direction, as you've shown above. Yes I used a duplicate layer, and yes I applied the mask to the duplicate layer. I can even get it to work using the mask applied by the Curves layer I used to lighten the duplicate layer. If you can think of anything that may have been set wrong, please let me know, because I think I checked everything including layer properties and those of the gradient tool as well. And I'm certain it will happen again when I'm on some deadline and really need the gradient. You know about Murphy's Laws, right?

Something like this might work for you:
1. Ctrl or Cmd click on layer thumbnail in the layers panel with the text.
That makes a selection of the text
2. Add a new blank layer below the text layer and go to Edit>Stroke (Outline) Selection and choose Center and the size.
3. Select>Deselect
4. Go to Layer>New Fill Layer>Gradient and check Use Previous Layer to Create Clipping Mask
5. In the Gradient Fill dialog you can experiment with different gradients and settings.

It seems that the issue is caused by a corrupt folder called en_US or similar (depending on language) within the Adobe Illustrator 18 Settings folder, see post #7 by Jules in this thread,

so the solution should be to move or rename that folder (or the whole Adobe Illustrator 18 Settings folder).
You can find the folder in Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed.
As a temporary roundabout way, you can select the lower rectangle to the right of the rainbow and DoubleClick to apply that to change the top rectangle and the values: the lower colour is the right one.
