    How do I add keywords to my images using DW?

    Well, there's <meta> keywords, then there are "keywords", here's an example...
    <meta name="keywords" content="everything, you, can, pack, into, this, tag, doesn't, matter, what, or, if, it, makes, sense">
    ...is totally obsolete for the reason I hint at in that tag example itself. There was a time, long ago in the dark ages of web design, where the keywords meta was actually used to determine page content to some degree. Developers immediately took advantage of it and started cramming everything they could think of into the <meta>, even totally unrelated but popular search terms, in the hopes that it would affect their rankings. It did, for a time, until the search engines got smarter and started totally ignoring the tag all together.
    "Keywords" changed meaning after that. Now search engines actually look at your page content and determine what your page is about. Making keyword rich, relevant html text (not odd blocks of random coma separated text anymore) is one of the things (there are many pieces to Search Engine Optimization or SEO) that determines if someone finds you using a particular word or phrase.

    Hi everyone my website is www.oakleytrainingcentre.com
    how do add keywords to it, so for example if you type training my website comes up on google search, a guy at my work said you can do it using html codes? plz anyone help
    thanks

    YIKES!  The code in your live website is a total mess.  You've got <styles> and <scripts> where the doctype <html> and <head> tags should be. There is NO Page Title.  You've got malformed tags everywhere.   Delete the code from your index page and replace it with this valid code.  Use this as a model for your other site pages.

  • How to add keywords for google search?

    I just published a web site but I don't know how to make my web site available to people who search on google using keywords. How do I add keywords to an iWeb website so people can find my site using google?

    You won't be able to do this directly in iWeb. You will have to edit the HTML files that iWeb publishes either to your iDisk or to a folder (if you are not using .Mac). Just open up the page.html files that represent each of your web pages. On your iDisk, these files should be in the /Web/Sites/iWeb/sitefolder folder.
    <head>
    <title>Your Page Title Goes Here</title>
    <META name="description" content="Your Page Summary Goes Here"><META name="keywords" content="Your Meta-Tag Keywords Go Here Separated By Commas">
    </head>
    This is the general format to add meta information to your pages. The meta tags go between the <head> and </head> tabs in your html code. Including this information will make your Google listing a little more descriptive without having to change the body content of your page (right now it is using the body content and giving you the names of the graphic files).
    The downside is that you will have to do this for every page if you decide to go this route. You will also have to do this everytime iWeb or you make changes to your web pages. You might want to learn how to use something like MassReplaceIt to help you automate the process. Good luck!

  • How do I add a keyword tag in iPhoto on the iPad?

    I looked through the Help for iPhoto and couldn't find a section on how to add keyword tags to my images.
    Things like the names of the people in the photos, etc.
    The screen shots of iPhoto show a Face Taggging feature.
    How do I get to that?
    Thanks for any help or advice!

    I talked with Apple Support.
    The iPhoto app on the iPad is not the same as iPhoto on the Mac.
    It doesn't support adding keyword tags.
    Possibly a feature to be added in the future.
    I have iCloud enabled for PhotoStream.
    So my iPad picture was sent automatically to my download folder on my pc.
    I can take it from there into PhotoShop Elements and add the tags.

  • LR2: how to exit "Click here to add keywords"?

    In LR2 the "Click here to add keywords" box was added to easily add keywords. But how do I exit this and advance to the next photo without having to click somewhere? In the other metadata-fields I can just press enter and then the focus is back to the image (i.e. arrow keys can be used to advance) but this does not work in this new keyword box.
    Anyone got a clue?

    Oh - how could I miss the obvious? Thanks! It also works on Mac (of course).

  • How to add keywords to a website

    Hi
    I need to add keywords to myweb site (well I think I do) so search engines can find it, how do I do it, I can easily do this on a PC as I have done it before, but on a mac I am a little stuck,
    Web done in Life 11 www.michaelcrawfordhick.com
    can anyone help me out
    thanks
    Michael

    Keywords should be placed in the page name, title tag, meta description and the text content of your site.
    The first thing that Google looks at is your sitemap.xml so the site name - if you have one - and the page name should have keywords separated by a hyphen. If you have uploaded the whole folder produced by iWeb, its name will appear in the URLs. So make it descriptive with hyphens  like "Business-Name-Location".
    Same applies to page names. Instead of "Home" use "Business-Type". This is why you shouldn't use the iWeb default navigation since it uses the pages names. Making the navigation page names different to the actual page names will make them more sensible to humans and allow more keywords.
    The title tag is probably about the most important place for keywords. To maximize its effect, make the first few words descriptive for the bookmark and the rest keywords. Avoid those like and, the, a, for etc.

  • How to add keyword metadata to elements after upload

    Hello,
    I am adding fcp projects with all its linked media to our server...There can be hundreds of elements attached to the project file, is there a way to change the keyword metadata for a whole element group within a project? It seems that I can only add keywords one at a time which would end up being literally thousands of entries.
    anybody encounter this??
    thanks
    dan

    There is a way to batch add metadata, but it isn't iTunes-easy and you need to be have admin rights on your FCSvr to do it. Also, this is a manual process after each set of assets exist. Anything more automatic would require custom scripting.
    You can use the Search Expired response to batch other responses. Create a new Search Expired response and set it to use the Custom 1 event type. Set the Timestamp Field to "Creation Date". Leave the Expiry Days empty. Below that you can filter based on the usual options or leave them all open to hit all your assets (up to you).
    Next, create a Set Asset Metadata response and populate it with the value you want to apply to your assets. Set this response to run by Subscription based on the Custom 1 event type.
    Finally, schedule your Search Expired response to run. When it does, it will fire what amounts to a dummy event (Custom 1) on the filter it was set for, triggering the Subscription you set up to listen for that event type. That fires the Set Asset Metadata response, and now all your assets are tagged with the desired default in the new field.
    The Custom event types are there for tethering a Search Expired response to a Subscription, so unless you know what you are doing, avoid the other event types on a Search Expired response.
    The official documentation does not really explain this very well, but it does indeed work. Once you get the desired result, you can disable the schedule for the Search Expired response.

  • How do you use Keywords?

    I'm curious how you use Keywords. I started to go into my pictures today and add them. I went first to the first Event I had and looked for any pictures of my kids. I was going to make my Keywords pretty broad. If they were aged 0 - 5, then that was my Keyword. But, then I had a picture of a brother and a sister, where the brother was 8 and the sister was 4. What to do? Then I changed it from 0-5 to 0-10. I've tagged about 300 of them that way, but now I'm wondering if it's worth the time. I know I can also use multiple Keywords, but that just seems to be a lot of work.
    For reference, I name all my pictures when I input them. I use the following format: name of person - event (if pertinent) - town - year, so that might come out as Chip - Halloween - Golden - '08. That way, I find it pretty easy to find whatever I might be looking for.
    Do you use Keywords? If so, how?
    Thanks.
    Chip

    The BEST system of keywording is the system you will actually execute. So your priority should be figuring out what you are willing and happy to do on a fairly regular basis.
    Since it already sounds like your system is a hassle, I don't know that your keyword needs to reflect the age---you can easily search on KW: Kids and Date Range: (whatever the young years would be) after the fact, and save yourself trouble while tagging. Or set that up as a Smart Album, and then once you've done the "okay when the kid was 0-4 that would be the dates 1990-1994", you don't need to do it again.
    Certainly, though, you should be open to multiple keywords on the same photo--that's the power of keywords, to categorize the same photo in multiple aspects.
    I don't bother naming my photos, but unlike TD, I create a lot of smaller events and name them pretty carefully, similar to your photo names. I use keywords for recurring themes, like Me, Family, Friends, Rivers, Flowers, or places I visit multiple times. Things with a beginning and ending, I lean on the event name to track, eg "Christmas Eve, Christmas--Opening Gifts, Christmas--Dinner, Christmas--Hanging Out".
    I find it very important to use the shortcuts, so that I can skim through 300 pix from a national park and just hit f to apply the Family keyword, m to apply the Me keyword, w for pictures of water, l for pictures of flowers, etc. (The keyword pane must be open to use the shortcuts)
    I tend to set up a smart album based on a keyword about the same time I set up a keyword, so that the list of smart albums helps me remember what I am doing with keywords. Also, thinking in terms of which albums you want to be browsing helps figure out how you need to keyword the photos--when your relatives or friends come over, what do you want to show them?

    How do I add 10G worth of pic's from eMac iPhoto 5 to new macbook with iPhoto 6?

    If you want to maintain the roll, album, keywords, comments and other info you'll need the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager. Currently it's the only way to merge libraries and keep all that information.

  • Trying to find out how to edit artwork, keywords, titles, and descriptions

    Trying to find out how to edit artwork, keywords, titles, and descriptions for my own video podcast that I have created for the iTunes store. My podcast shows on the first page in the itunes store (podcasts) for "forex" "forex training" and "forex education" under the name "fastpips", however I can't seem to find out how to change the title, for each podcast, the description, and keywords. I also want to add artwork to my podcast. I know how to do it under options for my own iTunes on my personal computer, but don't know how to edit it for others to see in the store itself. Thanks so much for any advice. By the way, I upload all my video podcasts to iTunes via ScreenCast.com I'm not sure if this will help, but here is the domain for the screencast files: http://www.screencast.com/users/ForexProFund/folders/FastPips.com%20Forex%20Trad ing%20and%20Forex%20Education

    I have a similar question, I would like to edit the artwork for EACH episode in the podcast, as well as have one artwork for the entire podcast series. Any suggestions? This is a podcast that I've created -- I did the same thing for a TV Show where I was able to do custom artwork for each episode, but not one single artwork for the entire series. Does anyone have suggestions of how i should proceed?
    Recap:
    One image for entire Podcast Series (or TV show)
    Different Set of Images for each episode in Podcast. (Understand how to do this in TV show)
    Thanks!

  • How to implement metadata keyword tags

    Can someone please advise me on how to implement meta keyword tag <meta name="keyword" content="..."> for individual community page? We have a set of keywords for each community page. I know we can just add the line above to base page layout if they are common keywords to all the community page but not sure whats the best way to add unique set of meta keyword tags to individual community page? FYI - We are using UCM for managing content for our site.

    I always did this using a property on the page object.
    1. Create a new property called "meta-keywords" and associate it to the community pages object through the global object property mapper utility.
    2. Edit your community page and add any keywords you desire.
    3. Write a custom tag for said property that takes a uuid as input (this way you can migrate and the tag remains the same.
    4. same idea works for any meta tag.
    Note: you are limited to 255 characters this way.
    Or you can probably code some kind of tag that reads from UCM as well, but i always did it the above way.
    Here is a tag example:
    public class MetaPropertyCurrentPage extends ATag {
         private OpenLogger log = OpenLogService.GetLogger(
                   OpenLogService.GetComponent(PTDebugHelpers.COMPONENT_PORTAL_COMMON),
                   "customizations.tag.standard.MetaPropertyCurrentPage");
         public static final RequiredTagAttribute UUID;
         public static final ITagMetaData TAG;
         static {
              TAG = new TagMetaData("currpageproperty",
                        "Displays the value of the property in the current page from the uuid.");
         UUID = new RequiredTagAttribute("uuid", "The UUID for the property you want to open.",
    AttributeType.STRING);
         @Override
         public ATag Create() {
              return new MetaPropertyCurrentPage();
         @Override
         public HTMLElement DisplayTag() {
              log.Info("Entering meta lookup");

                   objectid = objectAndClassId[PT_MIGRATION_OBJECT_COLS.PT_MOC_OBJECTID].toString();
                   log.Info( "found objectid" + objectid);
                   classid = objectAndClassId[PT_MIGRATION_OBJECT_COLS.PT_MOC_CLASSID].toString();
                   //check to make sure its a property

  • How can I add metadata to iWeb pages hosted on .mac?

    How can I add title/description/keyword metadata to my website?
    Is there an easy solution?
    I publish my site to my .mac account.
    Any direction would be appreciated. I work in the web marketing industry, so it bugs me not being able to add metadata to my site.
    Thanks!
    Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    So I find the folder: Welcome_files for example
    Then do I open up the Welcome.js file using text
    editor?
    When I add the metadata, then do I Save As and put
    the file back into the Welcome_files folder?
    Actually every page like Welcome has a Welcome.html file and then a folder "Welcome_files". The file you want to edit is the Welcome.html file. Not anything in the folder.
    Do I need to Publish again, or is that process
    automatic since the site is pulling from down from my
    iDisk?
    Nope don't publish again. That would just overwrite you changes again. Just save the file in the same place and you're done.
    Will I have to re-enter metadata every time that the
    page changes, or every time the site changes?
    Anytime iWeb thinks the page needs to be republished, your edited file will be overwritten.

  • How to copy iPhoto keywords from one library to another

    I have over 30 iPhoto Libraries.  Managing them is great using iPhoto Library, but keyword management is awful (if iPLM has a way I haven't found it).  I would like to know how to copy keywords from one library to another.  It's a pain to have to continually doing manual setup.
    In advance, THANKS!

    With that many photos you might consider using one of the high end DAM (digital asset management) applications.  I use Media Pro 1. It uses catalogs of thumbnails that are linked to the photos on your hard drive, CDs or wherever.  A single catalog can hold 250,000 images.  It uses Catalog Sets like Events in iPhoto.  There are Categories which are like albums in iPhoto.  Those and Catalog Sets are virtual.  You can batch rename files once in the catalog either by date or text.  The folders holding the photos on the hard drive can be set up auto update in the catalog so when you add a photo to the folder it will appear in the catalog. You can add keywords, hierarchical keywords, descriptions, etc. and write them back to the original file.
    It has some built in editing capability and versioning capability. Clicking on a keyword will display all photos with that keyword quickly.  Searches can be made across multiple catalogs and have the results displayed in a new catalog.
    I use it as my primary DAM and iPhoto for special projects like books, etc. The catalogs can be viewed and keywords, descriptions added, etc. without the original files being available.  You just can't do any editing, slideshows or anything that requires the full sized file.
