How do I add MPEG-4 audio to a slideshow in Elements 5.0?

Hello. Tech notes say MP4 is supported but when I try to add music to a slideshow seems all it looks for is MP3. All the songs in my iTunes are MPEG-4.
Any ideas or must I convert back to MP3?

iTunes tracks are protected by DRM to prevent their mis-use - like including in a slideshow. There are ways around this, but bear in mind what the intention of DRM is.

In general, itunes has DRM (copy protection) so it will only work according to the license... and as far as I know, Apple's license does not allow use in a new product, only in the Apple player... new product being the video you want to create

I read the instructions for the speakker player, but they seemed so confusing to me in terms of how to do everything, setp by step in regards to iWeb.
So, let me make sure I got it:
1) I go to my FTP site/hosting create a new folder
2) add the music and the graphic content from the player (images form the buttons, etc...)
3) get a link from the FTP hosting site with all this stuff
4) Write the link in the code
5) paste the code (with the link in it) into the HTML snipet widget of iWeb.
Is this correct?

If you want to go the complete free route, convert the video to MOVs from MT2 files. Then you can drag and drop them on to your iPad with Pic Share It. The movies will then appear in your camera roll on your iPad which you can add them to your iMovie project.

How Do I Add a Second Audio Channel To a QT Movie?

I just completed a project that originated in iMovie HD and was then exported as a full-quality QT movie. Problem is that I forgot that the source tape (VHS) only was recorded with audio on one channel. I would like to just clone the audio track from the right channel to the left so that after I burn it to DVD sound will be coming from both speakers. It was a mono recording to start with.

Don't bother. Open your movie in the QT Pro Player. Now open the "Movie Properties" window. Select the Sound Track in the upper half of the window and the "Audio Settings" tab in the lower half. A box will open showing the "channels" and their current "assignment." Click on the current "Right" or "Left" channel assignment and select "Mono." Now save your movie with its new channel assignment and you should be ready to go.

I have 2 audio tracks that have been made, but only 1 is being brought in. ( It is a .Ts video file that is from Hauppauge Capture and it has game play audio and commentary audio that is being over-layed.) They are written as separate audio tracks but when imported into Premier only 1 of the 2 are being brought in. Is there a way to bring in both files?

It is my recollection that we had a similar question a little while ago on this question. I do not recall the outcome. My first impression "it is what it is", but I am trying to dust off my memory to make sure that the user did not come up with a unique way to workaround the situation. I will start searching for the thread that I think that I remember.

Is there a way to add captions to photos once you've put them into slideshows on iDVD? Or, if not, is there another way to add captions to them, though another apple application such as iPhoto? I haven't been able to figure out how to make captions for photos in iPhoto slideshows either. Please help!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. if you're creating the slideshow from stills in iDVD use the Settings button at the bottom to bright up the pane where you can add titles and comments. The downside of that is every photo will automatically have it's file name or title entered. If you don't want that then while you're in iPhoto use the Photos->Batch Change->Title->None option before you import into iDVD. Then none of them will have the titles entered and you can add them to just those that you want. Or you can add them while in iPhoto before importing.

Folks, I'm looking for a feature that even the cheesy old Windows Movie Maker used to have. I'm trying to figure out how to get Premiere Elements 11 to add a transition between every clip via some shortcut/quick means. I find it obnoxious and inefficient that I need to manually drag a transition between every clip. If I import 200 short clips that I took with my point and shoot camera, it'll take me over an hour alone just to put the transitions in place.
Is there any way to select a transition and have Premiere Elements add it between every clip? I've stumbled on the fact that you can click a transition and make it the "Default" but have not been able to figure out what that does for me.
Any help is appreciated.

I think trying Edit > Preferences > General > Video Default Transition Duration will fix it. Mine came with 30 frames set at installation.

I have created a slideshow with photos and video. I want to add music, but would like to trim the main audio. If aperture doesn't have this feature, can I export my slide show to iMovie. What can I do?

Aperture allows for trimming the audio of any clip that you drop as background music onto the film strip. The clip appears as a green bar, and you can drag it to the place where you want the music to begin, also you can shorten/trim it by dragging the handles at the ends of the audio region.
For example:
If that does not suffice, you can use iTunes to trim the music. For any song in iTunes you can set the start and end time in the "options" pane of the Information panel. Then create a new, shorter version of the song, using the menu
Advanced -> create ... version.
