How do I add my phone number to my iPad 2 so that I can use iMessage?

I have an iPad 2 and I want to receive my iPhone messages on it like I do on my computer. Is there somewhere that I can add my number so that I can receive them? It is running on iOS 5.1.1 and I've tried updating it but it says that there are no new updates.

Where is the Start new conversations from??? When I go to Send & Receive, there is no where to add or set to receive at my phone number. You need to log out of iMessage and Facetime, make sure your number is correct in Settings/General/About, then log back in again to send a new activation request.

Here's How: Tap the phone icon from the iPhone's the home screen. Tap the Favorites icon at the bottom left. Click the "plus" icon at the top right to add favorites. This will bring up your full contacts list. Scroll through it or jump to a letter to find the contact you want. When you've found the name, tap it. How do I add my phone number for my iPhone to my iPad for iMessage. On the settings on iMessage it only gives the options for an email. I have tried typing my mobile no in there but it doesn't accept it and there doesn't seem to be any other way to add it.
I was getting iMessages for my mobile number on my iPad until I recently logged out and then back into my apple ID. Now the mobile number has disappeared on my iPad for both FaceTime and iMessage.

Pat; using Windows you can create a "PDF printer" which is a virtual device that you can select when you want to create an Adobe PDF file from anything you normally would print to hardcopy. As an example if I were on a webpage article that spanned two or three pages so a screen capture wouldn't really work, if I had a "Adobe PDF Printer" I would select that as my default printer and then print the webpage article. Instead of the webpage article going to a real printer and producing hardcopy, the Adobe PDF printer would ask me for a file name and then "print" the file by creating an Adobe PDF file.
