How do I Add Pages to Chapters?

I am trying to lay out a book with about 15 chapters.  I start by ading some text to a chapter page but that only accepts a few lines.  I thought iBooks Author would add pages automatically as I added more text but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I added Section pages after the Chapter page but that format is different and it seems that Sections are for a different purpose than Chapters.
I know iBooks Author is intended to be for textbooks so maybe I am using Chapters in the wrong way.  Should I not use Chapters and just use Sections to build my book?  If I do that, with the TOC still recognize those different sections as Chapters?
What is really the different between Chapters and Sections?
I could really use some help.
Thanks,
David

There is a section in this book addressing Chapter & Section titles and how we can screw things up. I don't know if this applies to your situation, but the book is filled with good advice.
As for redoing the book, set u the new book with blank chapters, sections, pages and then just copy & past between. It goes very fast.
All the best,
- Fabe

  • How do I add page numbers to my document without the page numbers automatically changing. I do not want the page numbers the software automatically places into my document.

How do I add page numbers to my document without the page numbers automatically changing? The title page is blank, I can type in 1 on the 1st typed page, but the #1 automatically goes into the next page and will not change.

Click at bottom of the first page:
Menu > Insert > Section break
Click somewhere in the 2nd page (not the header/footer)
Inspector > Layout > Section > Page Numbers > Start at 1 > Configuration > uncheck use previous headers and footers
Click into the header or footer of the second page:
    Menu > Insert > Auto Page Numbers…
If there is anything in the header or footer on the first page that you don't want just select it and delete it.
If you really wanted to manual place page numbers on each page you will have to use a section break between each and every page. I can't imagine that would be useful.

How do I add page numbers on a pages doc.?

It won't work in Layout mode documents but in Word Processor documents:
    1. Add a Textbox and move it to the top right, turn off Textwrap
    2. Insert a page number in the box
    3. Select the Textbox: Menu > Arrange > Section Master > Move Objects to Section Master/Make Master Objects Selectable
    4. Insert a Section Break on each page. It has to be a Section break otherwise editing the Master Objects will repeat on previous pages.

  • How do I add page numbers to a document in Pages 5.2

How do I add page numbers  to a document in Pages 5.2?   I'm sure there's some way to do this but it's less obvious than in the previous version of Pages.

Click on one of the Header or Footer fields and you will get a pop-up asking if you want to add page numbers, and a choice of formats.
You also may use Insert > Page Number.

    You don't.
Adobe Reader is a reader application. You can't use it to do editing.
If you have Adobe Acrobat on Mac or Windows, you can add pages.

Not sure if you want to add page number in the footer of the page or want to reset numbering in the page thumbnail view, so I am giving you video tutorial link for both the methods.
    1. Header-Footer method.

How do you add page borders in Adobe InDesign CS5.5?

Page borders? I'm not sure what you're asking but you ca use the Rectangle Tool in the Tool Bar on the left to Add a Rectangle around the page.
You can apply a stroke colour by going to Colour Panel and selecting the Proxy for  the stroke and the colour you need.
And you increase the Stroke Width by going to the Stroke Panel.

I assume you are using page layout, not word processing. First be sure to choose under the view menu, show page thumbnails, at that point you may add a blank page by choosing under the "insert" menu, "pages" blank. a second method, which i use is to right click on the thumbnail and choose duplicate, wait a few seconds, and you now have a duplicate. You may easily rearrange your pages in any order by simply click and drag on the thumbnails

  • HP Photocreations Photo book --how do i add pages 20

wife creating Photobook...how does she add pages? default limit is 20...
I am concerned her file is going to be too big? what is recommended max file size?

    Hello Yamabu,
From what I see, if you select a page on the bottom tray you will see a red X and a green plus (+) sign to the upper right corner of that page thumbnail.
If you click the green plus sign, it will add a page to the book. If you slide the thumbnail view all the way over to the end, you  see the number of pages have increased.
I do not know if there is a file size limit. I imagine the online version books (to be printed online) automatically adapt for the size. You are limited up to 100 pages per book except for the LayFlat design books (as per the info on the Learn more about page).

How can I add page turn animation to my iBooks Author 2.2 file? Can I add html / a plugin?

I concur with Tom. That feature is not available with iBooks. If the page turning effect is important, you could consider developing a fixed layout Epub 3 instead.

  • How do I add pages to a pdf file?

    I am new to iMac.
I am used to using Adobe Acrobat for Windows to create pdf files. In Acrobat, when you scan a page, you have the option to add the page to an existing pdf file.
I know how to use the Scan feature on Print & Fax to create pdf files on the iMac.
I can not figure out how to make a pdf more than one page (unless I use the document feeder to scan in a multiple pages at once.) When I use the flat bed scanner, I can not figure out how to scan another page into the same file.
I also can not figure out how to add another page to an existing pdf file.
It does not appear Adobe Acrobat is available for the Mac, just Adobe reader. If it was, I would just buy that.
Does anyone know how to do these two things, or a program that can?
    Thanks,
    -Lee

    Without any problems? Ever?
You mean it didn't take over your printing system and force you to use it?
It didn't break print to PDF functionality?
It didn't install a bunch of software you didn't want and then promptly abandon half of it?
It doesn't report an error if you try to remove the software that Adobe disabled 4 minutes after you bought it?
It doesn't continually ask you to register your software and continue to ask no matter how many times you register?
It doesn't continually tell you there are Adobe RAW updates that you need to install, even though you don't use that and don't want it, and tell it to ignore.
It doesn't report an error when you give up and tell it to install the Adobe RAW update?
Acrobat contains features that are useful and very much needed in a desktop publishing environment.
As do many other competing programs. Apple Preview can generate perfectly good PDFs and is more than adequate for the vast majority of users. PDFClerk can do things Acrobat could never dream of.
I have no experience of Acrobat Reader on the Mac so I can't comment on that.
I do, so I will comment. It is slow, bloated, and very poorly written software. It must be updated weekly due to cross-platform security flaws that are actively being exploited. Even if you do install it to use some Adobe-only feature, you may wind up having to run Acrobat in Windows because the Mac version's output is so bad.
All of the items I've listed here are just my personal experience. If you want more, just use the Apple Discussions search feature. Unfortunately, I haven't found an adequate replacement for Photoshop, so I still have that installed. Preview, however, is much better than Adobe Reader.

The free Reader can do very little more than reading (opening) PDF files. I'd use Acrobat.

  • How do I add pages to a photo book with the same number of photos per page.

I want to add a photo book, select all the pages and tell the book to be 4 photos per page. And when I add new pages, I want those to have 4 photos.
When ever I add, it just selects a random page and then I have to manually change that page to have 4 photos. Is there an easier way to do this?

    Nope
the added pages are what they are and you have to change them if hey are not what you want
Click on the layout button and and select the 4 photo per page layout you want
