How do I add "Parts" in a book?

I have a book I want to have several Parts - and each part has several chapters. I do not see how I can do that in Author. The section option is for sections of chapters, so that won't work.
Example;
PART I - WW1
The beginnign
The Middle the End
PART II - WW2
The Beginning
..... Any help would be appreciated - Thanks

You could use the template's foreword layout as the "part x" page separator. It could just simply have the text Part x, an image, links, whatever. This is followed by the chapters in that part. You'll have to change the numbering to "1, 2, 3" sine the default numbering for a foreword layout uses Roman numerals

  • How do I add the "Rate this book" and "write a review" feature?

    At the end of most books, I see this "Rate the book" widge.  When you click on "Write a Review" within the book a form for submitting a review shows up...how do I add this?

    I believe you're looking at a Kindle Book, not a book in the iBookstore. This is something Amazon has added to many books automatically when submitted through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing.

  • Apple Mail: How do I add contacts to address book?

    In the Apple Mail program, there is an option to add sender to address book. But when I do that, it just adds the sender to my address book, oftentimes without a name associated to the contact. So that contact could easily get lost.
    I'd like to be able to add a sender from Apple Mail, then, at a later point, go to the address book and review who I've added, and edit their information.
    Is there a way to add the sender to the address book, and have that contact added to a default folder within address book. That way I could later go back and review a bunch of contacts I've added at the same time. Thanks.

    Adding an address to Address Book opens Address Book so that you can edit the card before saving it.  Is that not happening for you, or is that happening but you want to ignore it until you're ready to go add other information?
    If the latter, you could always create a smart group in Address Book with the criteria "Name" "is not set".  Then just go in now and then and add names to everything in that group.  Of course, the problem with this technique is you may have to go back and find that address in Mail and refresh your memory as to who it belongs to.  It would probably be quicker, overall, to just add the name at the time you're adding the contact.

  • How do I add a -pdf.acsm book to my iPad library?

    Help....
    After lengthy reading on an independent bookstore site (Powell's in Portland, OR) I purchased and downloaded 2 e-books to my iMac (10.6.8; Intel Core 2 Duo) and then tried to put them into my iTunes library to add to my iPad 2, whose software I just updated.
    Nothing seems to work.
    any suggestions?

    Mskathk-
    A websearch found a note that the pdf.acsm is not the book, but only the "key".  Apparently it requires that the Adobe Digital Edition program has been installed on your computer.  If the program is installed, double clicking the pdf.acsm file should download the book.
    Suppose you are successful in using Adobe Digital Edition program to download the actual books.  Are you sure they will be in a format that the iPad can use?
    I'm not sure what all formats iBooks can read, but have been able to read epub and pdf books downloaded from different websites.

  • How to batch add contacts from Address Book to Jabber?

    Hi Guys,
    I've recently imported my contacts from my hotmail account. Some of these are AIM, Gmail (iChat compatible accounts). Instead of adding one by one can i batch add them from my address book?
    Cheers
    Jim

    Hi,
    Yes.
    Click on names in the Address Book (you can either do this with the Shift or Apple key as Modifiers or create Groups to keep Jabber and AIM buddies separate at this stage.)
    Once Highlighted drag them to the relevant iChat Buddy List.
    (I once did 249 people like this.)

  • How can i add settings to my book on ibook author?

    i'm making a project, and i almos finished, but when i made a preview, i can't change the text size; i want to add that setting to my book, i mean that option on the right top corner where you can change the text size and background color. Thanks for your help

    Not available in iBooks Author.   Available options are brightness slider, book search and bookmark.
    Set your font size higher than default if you have concerns.
    I have to say, I have not checked the portrait templates yet...which are more likely to be used for flowing text only books, but knowing Apple, I doubt they will have the option either.

  • How to add products to a book of business

    hi all
    i have created a hierarchy of books. i want to add products to some of the books.
    how can i add the products to books
    thanks and regards

    Hi,
    We have been struggling with this issue too…it's crucial in SR object when user needs to search the whole company products database even if his book definitions should allow him access only to specific product/s.
    As Venky mentioned it seems that Product is a "global" object grantable to all, in terms of visibility the workaround we came up with is to not allow access to this object to specific role/s and assign them with a separate Product search layout where we have only one read only field available in both targeted search fields and search results layout sections.

  • Made ePub - how do I add to iBook on iPad?

    I tried converting a set of short stories I wrote to ePub format using the new iWork and now have the ePub files. My next question is how do I add these new ePub "books" to my iBook library on my iPad? What are the steps or process?

    In the past, lulu has had everything set to reject anything with pages anywhere in the creator code. I don't if that's it; it could also be that pages creates div soup when encoding the epub. Some sites' preflight checkers just shrug and take the "on your head be it" attitude towards what your epub could look like to purchasers, but not all of them do.

  • Messenger Express: How do I add the Directory Server to the address book search tool?

    In Messenger Express (ME) how do I add the Directory Server (DS) to the address book
    search tool?
    <P>
    Edit the globals.pl file. Look for a line similar to: <BR>
    @dirservers = ('MyCompany::phonebook.foo.com::o=FooCorp.,c=US','Four11 Directory::ldap.four11.com::');
    <P>
    Add an entry to the list. The list is comma delimited and each entry is a
    string. The string contains three fields, delimited by a double colon (::). The
    first field is the name you want to appear in the User Interface (UI). The second is
    the hostname of the DS and the third is the Distinguished Name (DN) to use when searching.
    <P>
    Please note, Messenger Express is part of the Messaging Server. For more
    information on Messenger Express, please see the release notes at
    http://home.netscape.com/eng/server/MExpress/relnotes.htm

    You can't add a new contact to specific group and there is no app for this. 3rd party apps don't have access to private iPhone APIs with security concerns being a primary reason, which such a function would require.

  • How do I add a book(pdf) into my Kobo app on my iPhone

    How can I add books that I want to read to my Kobo app on my iPhone?
    How do I add some of my videos into my flex player app or my iMedia player app? If I do add a video which will it play under?

    Connect the phone to your computer and click on its icon in your computer's iTunes to select it. Then select the phone's Apps tab, and scroll down the screen to the 'file sharing' section - select the Kobo app on the left-hand side of that part of the iTunes screen, and on the right-hand side add the PDF(s) to the app. Or if the PDFs or epubs are on a website then you might be able to use 'open in' in Safari to copy them to it
    If those other apps support the file sharing section then you should be able to use the above to copy videos into them from your computer (you won't be able to play iTunes purchased videos in them ).

  • How do I add a book on my MacBook Pro to my iPad 3

    I have an iPad 3 on iOS 8
    I have a MacBook Pro on 10.9.5
    I have 4 PDF/Epub/Mobi files on my Mac.
    How do I add books to iTunes?
    How do I view the books I have in iTunes?
    How do I add them to my iPad so they'll be in iBooks?

    On a Mac with Mavericks (or Yosemite) installed on it you don't add them to iTunes, that is only used as a tool for syncing your books to the iBooks app on your iOS devices, iTunes isn't used for managing them.
    For the books that are compatible with iBooks (you probably won't be able to copy the Mobi files into it) then you can add them to the iBooks app on your Mac either via the File > Add To Library menu option within the app, or by dragging and dropping them onto it.
    If you connect your iPad to your Mac's iTunes they should then show on its Books tab for selecting and syncing to the iBooks app on the iPad
    For the mobi book, you will need an app on your iPad that supports more books e.g. the Kindle app.
    For Kindle, and possibly other mobi apps, you can add books to the app by selecting the iPad's Apps tab, scroll down the right-hand side of the screen to the file sharing section, select the app that you want to copy the book to, and add it to the app.

  • How do I add a widget to give a review or star rating for a book at the end of a book in iBooks Author?

    How do I add a widget to give a review or star rating for a book at the end of a book in iBooks Author? You know, how you buy books on iBooks and when you're finished reading it, there's a place where you can give a rating or review right there on the very last page?

    Just supply a link that says 'Review This Book' - use http://itunes.apple.com/linkmaker/ to generate one.
