How do i add songs to a second library?

I have created a second library but i am having trouble adding songs to it. I am using the latest version of itunes and i have tried several ways of doing it but none seem to work.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. One idea is to use Home Sharing to import new songs into the secondary library. You can do this by following this article:

Home Sharing tips
The best way to avoid duplication is to use the Show menu located in the lower-left corner. Choose "Items not in my library" before transferring any content.
Home Sharing transfers the media file and ID3 tag information. It doesn't transfer iTunes metadata, including ratings, play history, and comments.
Home Sharing doesn't check for duplicates when manually transferring content between iTunes libraries.
If your iTunes libraries contain a large amount of identical content, you should manually select only the songs you want to transfer.
If you accidentally create duplicates, use the Show Duplicates feature in iTunes to locate and remove duplicate files.
It's not an automatic transfer, but it can identify items for transfer automatically. And if the items are iTunes purchases, the "Setting up Automatic Transfer" section has instructions for having those items trnasfer automatically.

I use http://decimus.net/Synk to keep my iMac's iTunes synchronized with the backup iTunes folder on an external disk. Any changes I make are automatically synced to the backup. You might find it useful.

I've tried going to the playlist, tapping the + button. Then I select the song by tapping it, it grays out as though selected. I tap done, and again done in the playlist. But the song is not appearing in the playlist. Am I missing something?

For future reference, since I came here for the same reason, I'd like to add to the solution. The link was not complete in explaining how to, but then again I'll just trying to attempt to fill in the gap.
After opening iTunes, on the upper left hand side is a small icon with an arrow pointing down. Click on the arrow and a menu pops out. Click on "Show Menu Bar." On the new bar(Older iTunes File, Edit, View, Controls, etc. bar at the top). Click on View and then Show Side Bar. There you can just click and drag new songs into your iDevice without any problems... hopefully...
Seriously, this helped me, so if Apple finds a way to not allow me to do this simple task of adding purchased songs into my idevices from another computer, I'll have to resort to other means.
The one idevice that's having trouble with is my iShuffle(2nd).

Within Windows' folder options, select the option to view all hidden and system files. Then access your iPod through My Computer. Go into the transulcent iPod "ipod_control" folder. There's a folder in there called 'Music'. All your songs are in the several folders within this folder.
Sadly they're all renamed by iTunes, but all artist, album and song name information is retained within the files. You can simple copy the files from this folder onto your hard drive and add them into iTunes as normal.

Iphone will sync with one and only one computer. Syncing to another will erase the current content. This is the design of the iphone.

Did it once, but I can't fingd the option and 'help' is no help.

When you play an MP3 stream with iTunes by opening a link via your browser, the url gets added to your library.
Apple radio stations don't appear to get added, the only way I have found of storing a quick link is to do it in a play list.
If you right click on your apple radio staion and do a right click - copy, you can paste the link into a play list with ctrl V.
