In prior OS on my iMac, I was able to add the Display icon to the Menu Bar, making it a quick fix to adjust the resolution.  That option no longer appears in the Display section of System Preferences.  I am using multiple displays.  Could that make any difference?  Any suggestions?

  • How to calibrate a thunderbolt display?

I have calibrated both my macbook pro and thunderbolt display with a Spyder 3 and they look totally different, any ideas?

Well, with the spyder elite 4 software you can choose to calibrate both monitors to match each other. I did this over the weekend.
You have to pay attention to screen brightness. I used the laptop keyboard to adjust the brightness on the laptop monitor when prompted, and used the external keyboard to adjust the brightness on my thunderbolt display when prompted.
I'm not really pleased with the calibration but they are both really similar. You can see large horizontal shadows on the thunderbolt display after the calibration, I suppose it has something to do with the monitor's design. It's really distracting.

  • How can I add the Display name on Directory Number

I created a New Directory NR ( 3131 ) and I put  a  name to Alerting Name/ASCII A Name and on the Forward All
00xxxxxx, but vhen I call the Directory Nr from a Cisco Phone i see on my display the nr from froward, how can I set up from CallManger to see  the name which I put to Alerting Name/ASCII A Name. The nr 3131 is even in the Avaya system.
    Thanks a lot

    Thanks fro y reply,
The problem is that the nr. 3131 dosen't have a MAC/IP address, it was created in Directory Nr. not on the Device/add device, the nr was created to be able to call Avaya agents and the user to not see the personal agent nr ( 3131 ), only the name. The problem is  when a place a call the nr from forwarding appears on the display instead the name I put ( Test ).
    Thanks

First thing you should do is call BofA and suspend your online account and/or change your password.
The correct IP address for BofA is
    171.161.148.173
If you paste this into your browser URL field (where it says "apple.com http//discussions.apple.com.... now) you will go directly to the BofA site, no poison in between from a lot of possible issues.
    1: Google poisoned
    2: DNS poisoned
    3: Router DNS poisoned.
I doubt very much it's your Mac, not that I've playing favorite, it's because Mac's are very highly secure.
Once you have gone to the correct site by entering the IP address into your URL field and pressing enter, bookmark it and use that from now on.
Also you should see a HTTPS in the URL when you log in, that means you have a secure connection.

  • How to add a display language to 8320

    Hi,
I just got BB CUrve 8320 from T Mobile.
Does any one know how can I add a display language to it in order to read different language in the email? I need to read chinese.
    Thanks,

At first check whether Chinese language is already in your phone or not.
Go to options -> languages -> under language filed look for Chinese. If its there then selecting this will do the trick for you.
If its not there then download the multilingual device software pack from your carrier download site. Install that in your PC and with the help of application manager install the required pack in your device.

  • How much of the thunderbolt datapipe does two thunderbolt displays use?

I have a Late 2011 MBP Pro with Two Thunderbolt displays.
I want to add a thunderbolt external drive and use it to store paralles images for occassional use.
My question is, how much of my thunderport "pipe" is already being consumed by the displays?  I found a video with what appears to be a speedometer type tool, but can't find it for the life of me.
    Thanks!
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCzPnKl4ebU

No idea what that 'speedometer' test is - I use the AJA System Test to test my Thunderbolt drives speeds. My config is two LaCie TB 2big drive (one 4 terabyte 'unRAIDed' into 2 2 terabyte drive and one 2 terabyte RAID 0) connected to my 15" late 2011 MBP and then with the Display on the end of the chain (as it should be).
As I understand it, the more Thunderbolt drives you have, the faster your overall speed (don't ask me why - it's PR put out by LaCie). I don't think that you'd take any kind of hit putting a Thunderbolt drive or drives between your MBP and your two Thunderbolt Displays.
    That's just my understanding...

  • How can I tell my MacBook Air to automatically detect my Thunderbolt Display?

I have a brand new MacBook Air (13", mid-2011) running 10.7.2 (and all updates) and Thunderbolt Display (with firmware 22.2, the latest)
When I plug the thunderbolt plug into the port, I expect the MBA to recognize the display and automatically start using the display based on the last settings (arrangement, etc.) This is how every other display (Apple or not) has worked with a MacBook I've owned. This is one of the nice little touches that I really appreciate about Apple products.
What actually happens when I plug in the thunderbolt display is.... nothing. The MBA will work happily as if there is no external display plugged in until I bring up the Displays control panel and "Detect Displays". This is contrary to how it worked in the past and based on that experience, I consider the current behavior to be a bug.
Is there some setting I'm missing to make this work properly? It is pretting annoying to have to many times a day (in the morning and every time I take my MBA away from my desk). Is this a known issue that Apple will be fixing soon?
    Thanks,

It's definitely not supposed to work like that...when you plug the display in, it should just turn on and adjust your displays.  It works like that on my MBP.  Kind of a silly question, but do you have the MagSafe from the display plugged in your MBAir too?  Thats a requirement.  Beyond that, it should "just work."
Not sure if there is some setting to enable...i haven't seen it.  Call to support?

  • How to connect VGA Monitor via Thunderbolt Display

I've been using my Macbook Air mid 2013 with a Samsung monitor connected via the Mini Display Port to VGA adapter. I've now bought a 27" Thunderbolt display, which I've connect to my Mac, and assumed I could now daisy chain my samsung monitor into the Thunderbolt port in the back of the monitor. This isn't working.
Is this expected behaviour? Some people have said online that it will work if there's some other Thunderbolt peripheral between the Thunbolt Display and the VGA adapter, but I don't know what kind of peripheral they mean.
Apple support says that my model Macbook air can power two external displays.
How can I get this to work?
    Thank you

I want to know if I can connect a vga monitor to the quad by simply getting a vga to dvi adaptor.
    Yes, you can.

  • How do I get my new 27" Thunderbolt Display to work with my mid-2010 Macbook Pro?

How do I get my new 27" Thunderbolt Display to work with my mid-2010 Macbook Pro? Or am I SOL?
    Hardware Overview:
      Model Name:    MacBook Pro
      Model Identifier:    MacBookPro6,1
      Processor Name:    Intel Core i7
      Processor Speed:    2.8 GHz
      Number of Processors:    1
      Total Number of Cores:    2
L2 Cache (per Core):    256 KB
      L3 Cache:    4 MB
      Memory:    8 GB
      Processor Interconnect Speed:    4.8 GT/s
      Boot ROM Version:    MBP61.0057.B0F
      SMC Version (system):    1.57f18

You can't. Theoretically, Thunderbolt devices that only transfer video and audio should work with Mini DisplayPort MacBooks like yours, but it's not the case of the Thunderbolt Display. Its firmware doesn't allow it to be used with non-Thunderbolt Macs, so you can't use the Thunderbolt Display with the Mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
Instead, you have to look for another screen, or you can get an adapter and connect the MacBook Pro to a TV

  • How to connect the macbook with thunderbolt display 27" to TV with RGB port?

    Hi,
I have the following equipments in hands:
    1. Macbook PRO 15 inch with 1 thunderbolt port, OS is Mavericks 10.9.2
    2. Apple Thunderbolt display 27" identical to this : http://www.apple.com/displays/
    3. A Samsung TV with RGB port, & HDMI port.
I want all these displays ( macbook, Apple thunderbolt display & the Samsung Tv) connected at the same time, I had a trial to connect them using a minidispaly adapter to RGB port & HDMI port  in the TV but it didnt worked.
    Please help!
    Thank you.

The Thunderbolt dock adds extra ports:
HDMI (up to 2560x1600 with the Elgato, 1920 x 1200 with the CalDigit)
    3 USB 3
    Ethernet
    Audio in
    Audio out
You could also use a Belkin Thunderbolt dock.
    <http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F4U055/>
It includes a FireWire port, but no HDMI port, so would need a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter (1920 x 1200 max) for the TV.  This would use the second Thunderbolt port, so the Belkin dock has to be used with the port on the back of the Thunderbolt display, not between the computer and display.
If you don't need the extra ports, use a Thunderbolt hard drive (with two Thunderbolt ports)
    <http://www.seagate.com/external-hard-drives/desktop-hard-drives/backup-plus-desk -mac-thunderbolt/>
This can be your Time Machine drive.  Connect the Thunderbolt display to the computer, one port of the drive to the port on the back of the display, and a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter to the second Thunderbolt port on the drive.
You will have three displays with differing resolutions, so mirroring is not going to fill each screen at full resolution.

  • How to connect your hdmi tv to the Thunderbolt display?

    Hello,
I've just got my Thunderbotl display which is really nice, but i have question and i hope this would be possible.
How to connect an external display, in my case the HDMI tv to the thunderbolt display?
The connection would looks something like this:
Macbookpro (late 2011 15') -> Thunderbolt cable -> Thunderbolt display -> Thunderbolt to hdmi adapter -> HDMI Display
But currently i cannot get any screen on my hdmi display (it remeans black).
p.s. runing latest version of OS X
    Thanks

    See secrions 14 and 16.
If your MacBook Pro does support two external displays you may be able to use your TV with a Thunderbolt display.  While a Mini DisplayPort adapter won't work plugged directly into a Thunderbolt display, it will work if a Thunderbolt drive is connected between the displays.  This reportedly works with Seagate GoFlex drives.  LaCie drives don't work plugged into Thunderbolt displays.

  • HT4885 how do i use a macbookpro with  a thunderbolt display and have an external projector

I bought the latest macbook pro with a 500 gig solid state drive 8 gig ram etc and a thunderbolt display, is use it with lappy lid down and external key  board and mouse, so like an imac or tower. i want to add a matrox 3 display splitter in line to have 1-3 projectors for film and vj etc.
i can add it straight out of the lappy as one would expect, but now i find after vast expense i can only add another thuderbolt display out of the display port on the thunderbolt display!.
This is such a scam from mac.......what are they playing with. Is there any good solutions out there. I spend alot of money and can cant use projection and a thunderbolt display at same time......very disapointed on this one.....its a postitive backward progression on there part.....
its fine on the road, but doing mxed media presentaions from my work place is now not possible with my lovely big display as well.
there must be a away round this.....Am i being dumb.
thanks for any help in advance.

  • Hi, I just got an Apple Thunderbolt Display. How can I connect it to my sony vaio pc? Thanks

Hi, I just got an Apple Thunderbolt Display. How can I connect it to my sony vaio pc? At Apple Store they gave me a Mini Display Port to VGA Adapter, but monitor doesnt display any image. Thanks for your help!

no, your computer needs to have thunderbolt technology. does it?
if not, no adapter can make a thunderbolt display work on a non-thunderbolt computer.
someone was likely confused since miniDP will FIT into a TB socket but is only compatible one way, ie a mDP display can work on a TB machine, but a TB display cannot work on a mDP machine
