How do I add transitions automatic in iMovie 10.0.3

Hi,
I updated imovie a couple of days ago and I can't find the feature in iMovie that adds transitions automatic. All guides on internet says that you have to press "file- project theme" and change it from there. When I click the file button in top of the screen the option "project theme" is not there. There has to be a way to add transitions automatic. Right now I'm working on a slideshow with hundereds of pictures and adding transistions manually is not an option

just think about the voice setting when you go to the record you should find mono and stereo. I have only mic volume -cd volume and line volume i should have mono mixer and stereo mixer also.
So can i add them to the list ?? For example when you use paltalk program you can play music from your computer in the room so all in this room can hear it eaven if you adjust your volume to mute,this is using mixer mono or stereo.

How do I add chapter markers in iMovie 11?

On the previous version of iMovie I used chapter markers frequently, but cannot find them on iMovie 11. Do they exist? And if so, how can I access that feature?

iMovie version 10 (newest version) doesn't have a chapter marker feature.
iMovie version 9 is still installed and is in your Applications folder.

Speech bubble - how do I add to iDVD or iMovie?

A few months ago someone showed me how to use iMovie and iDVD. I liked the additional feature they showed of being able to add "speech bubbles" to show text for individual frames/images. Unfortunately, I can't find or remember how to find this feature. Anyone able to help?

How do you add english subtitles in iMovie '08?

In iMovie, I want to add english subtitles, however I have no idea how to do it. Can you help me in details? and i in a hurry.......

Don't think that would work. Since my "system date" is already set at 2007. I have 2 imports, one has the year as 2048, and the other at 2016!! I don't know where they are getting these dates from, but they are not the system date.
Were the files imported directly from a camcorder or from files already on your hard drive? In the first case the year may have been taken from the time "stamp" recorded when the footage was shot (which may or may not have been correctly set by the user). On the other hand, files imported from the hard drive seem to be keyed to the date the imported file is written to the "Events" folder which, of course, reflects the current system time/date setting. That's why I said you had to then import (re-import) the files from a hard drive source -- i.e., to ensure the DTG would be re-written.

How do I add photos to my imovie project?

When I add photos between video clips they stay there, but when I press play, a still frame from either the video clip before or after is shown in the pictures place. Can someone please direct me as to how I may fix this so that I may see the actual photos I add when I press play?

Hi, Everyone:
I'm a musician. I have simple videos of myself singing and playing guitar. I want to add lyrics to the movie---perfectly timed so that when the words leave my mouth, they show up in text on the bottom of the video---kind of like a follow the bouncing ball, karaoke thing.
Can someone spell out clearly how I can go about doing this?

My guessing is that this is pretty hard to do in iMovie'08.
Slightly better done in iMovie HD 6 where You got a better frame control on
where You add Your texts (in time - not in space - text tool isn't so good)
Full control of both space and time: FinalCut Express/Pro
Still this is a tedious task and tools for text-settings i realtime as in broadcasted
materials are not easy to find and expencive. I think that "Media-100" or
any other pro-applications might have links to this. Price in fantacy.
I write my texts down in a word-processor and Cut & Past
(when text setting a movie or part of it)

You can add photos to it - But they didn't make it easy at all.
• You first collect photos in a new iMovie Project
• Export out "Share to QuickTime" and as a QuickTime movie
• Import this movie into Events
• This Event can be used in a Project and Themes.

Welcome to the iMovie forums.
Apparently iMovie 08 does not natively support the use of chapter markers. The movie needs to be exported to Garage Band to do the work.

iMovie 8 isn't really that good for serious editing and output. It's is good at uploading video to the internet and to You Tube. That's about it. If you have iMovie 6 you'd be in much better position to edit your video into a good movie and to add chapter markers natively.

How do you add plain text?

I have a very simple question, which is just what it says in the subject line of this topic.
How do I add plain text into iMovie? No fades, no slides, no nothing, just plain text?
From what I've been searching online, no one has answered this question, but then again, no one has asked it either.
All I could find was 1 yahoo thread with the question in which the answer was not clear at all.
I've been trying to find it myself by snooping around in iMovie, but as you might guess, unsuccessfully.
From snooping around I've come to draw the conclusion that you probably can't add plain text into iMovie via iMovie directly.
However, and idea I had was, if I create an image in, lets say Paint 2, with whatever plain text I want to add, and then insert it into the project. Will this have the same effect?
Can anyone please confirm this? I'm going crazy just looking for such a simple feature hehehe.

hmm, well ... a video isn't meant for reading (resolution, compression, blabla). ...
so 'text' in a video should be very large in font, avoid tiny details, too much contrasts ... blabla again
Advice using the Title-feature as 'text' isn't wrong.
plus, iMovie is no text-processor, you copy/paste larger amounts of letters into it.
If you need/want 'a page full of text' in iMovie, indeed you have to do the roundtrip by creating a 'picture' of your text-page, and insert that jpg to your Project.
The good news:
if your 'picture (=text page) is longer than the video screen, you can apply a nice Ken Burns effect to 'scroll' through the text ... in case, your audience reads as fast as you.
bad news: max is 5:1 ratio of the 'page' ... so, no 'books' please ...
Aside Star Wars ("... in a galaxy far, far away from here"), you should avoid 'text' longer than a usual title.
(this answer/workaround isn't in the 'canned' replies of our hosts, you should forgive'em ... )

I want to learn how to create a video in iMovie. My goal is to be able to take many vidoes and place them into one. I would also like to delete scenes and and add transitions. I am also hoping to add music to the video I create.
