How do I allow a Microsoft Desktop Active-X plugin to install?

When I try to connect to my work computer via microsoft remote web it says I can't connect because my computer won't allow the microsoft remote desktop active-x control to install. I can't find any security setting preventing me from installing it.

iDVD can only use and burn up to 120 minutes of playing time on a single layer DVD disk or 240 minutes on a double layered DVD disc.
You will have to split your movie file into two files so that each have less than 2 hours of playing time. Then create two projects, one for each portion of the class.
Once you get the files to less than 2 hours each create a project and drag the file into the open iDVD project window being careful to avoid any drop zones that may be in the menu.
Follow this workflow to help ensure a successful burned disk:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

How to detect what keyboard is currently active on desktop?

Hi there, I'm working on a virtual keyboard (window with buttons as keys) for my swing application. When I show keyobard window I would like to adjust the layout of my virtual keyboard to system keyboard that is currently active on desktop. But I don't know how to detect what keyboard is currently active. How to detect this? Thank you.

On the Real-Time CompactRIO Properties > VI Server, you must check the box for TCP/IP protocol, which by default is unchecked.
Also, when you make a Build Specification for a VI and set it to run on startup, you can still enter the VI name (not c:\ni-rt\startup\startup.rtexe) as the VI Path on the Open VI Reference.

How to retrieve original Microsoft Office activation key after restoring Windows 7?

I had a operating system self-distruct and could not do anything to get past the BSOD. Using a recovery CD, I was able to access OneKey Restore which restored WIndows 7.  With my original notebook purchase I purchased Office 2010 and had a valid activation key - and have used Office since that time. Now that I have restored the OS, I don't know how to find the key again so Office won't run. Any ideas on what to do? Thanks.

1.) Paste the above script into the AppleScript Editor
2.) Select "Save As…" from the "File" menu
3.) Name it whatever you like, select "Application" as the "File Format", click the check box next to "Stay Open" and then click the "Save" button
4.) Launch the script application by double clicking on it
The above script will run until you manually quit it. Basically, whatever script you create will have to poll the system quite regularly to figure out if the Finder is the current frontmost application. This inevitably eats up a small amount of CPU over and over and over again. Not really advisable.
Best thing to do… Create an alias of your Desktop folder and drag that to the right side of the Dock. Any time you want to open the Desktop folder, just click on the alias of your Desktop on the Dock.

This is by design behavior, and it’s a consideration about security in order to help protect your site from potential script injection attacks.

How can I change a Microsoft Word document file into a picture file?

How can I change a Microsoft Word document file into a picture or jpeg file? I am wanting to make the image I created my background on my macbook pro.

After I had the document image the way I wanted it, I saved it as a web page and went from there. Below are the steps starting after I did the "save as" option in Word:
1) Select "Save As Web Page". I changed the location from documents to pictures when the window came up to save it as a web page.
2) Go to "Finder" on you main screen, or if it's on your main toolbar at the bottom.
3) Click on the "Pictures" tab and find the file you just re-saved as a web page. (I included "web page" or something similar in the new title so I could easily find the correct file I was looking for)
4) Open the correct file and then "right click" on the actual image. (Use 2 fingers to do so on a Mac)
5) Select 'Use Image As Desktop Picture", and voilà! The personally created image, or whatever it is that you wanted, is now your background.
**One problem I encountered while doing this is that the image would show up like it was right-aligned in relation to the whole screen. The only way I could figure how to fix this was to go back to the very original document in Word, (the one before it was saved as a web page), and move everything over to the left.
I hope this helps someone else who was as frustrated as I was with something that I thought would have been very simple to do! If you have any tips or suggestions of your own, please feel free to share. : )

How do I reset the number of activations on Visio 2003 after getting a "too many activations" message?

I just installed Visio 2003 on a PC, and got the "we can't activate this app via the internet because you've installed it too many times" message. I went back to phone activation, but, of course, that's no longer available for this product.
How do I get the number of activations reset? Apparently you used to be able to do this by calling Microsoft, but what's the number to call? Or is there another way to do it?
I'm probably going to need to do it for my copy of Office 2003 also.

Let's try swapping out your QuickTime again, taking a few extra explicit precautions this time.
Head into your Add/Remove programs. uninstall QuickTime.
Next, we’ll manually remove any leftover program files and folders.
1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
3. Open Program Files.
4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx. (If “Hide filename extensions for known file types” is enabled on the PC, then those two files will appear as “QuickTime” and QuickTimeVR”.)
7. Restart your computer.
Now download and save a copy of the latest standalone QuickTime installer to your hard drive. (We'll run the install from there rather than online.)
Latest Quicktime Installers … get the one that doesn’t mention iTunes

I have exactly the same problem.
I'm a little peed-off with Microsoft on this. The original wireless controller I have doesn't work either since the cable I'm using is 'just' the charge and play cable, so a direct connection to my Mac won't work with this cable. It's a cable for god's sake. Why on EARTH put any limitations on this!?!?
Next I learn I need an additional USB wireless receiver from Microsoft to get my original 360 controller to talk to my Mac. As I certainly don't want to fork any more microsoft dollars on this, this is not an option.
Next I think, yes! I have a MadCatz 360 wired USB controller. This should surely do the trick just plugging it in and the way I go. But oh no, for some reason I plug my MadCatz Xbox360 controller in, it flashes a few times then switches off and can't be turned on again.
The System Profiles recognizes it as a MadCatz 360 device controller but that is about it, but the ontroller software I download for the System Prefs (360Controller, USBOverdrive etc) don't even recognize the controller as being plugged in.
What the **** Is The Microsoft Deal with all of this!?!?
PS: Oh, and I forgot to mention, there are No drivers for device 4716 that I can find on the MadCatz website, or am I going blind?

No yellow bar comes up when trying to allow adobe flash reader so how do I allow the program to be downloaded?

The instructions for downloading Adobe flash reader state that a yellow bar will appear int he tool bars and just click allow. No yellow bar appeared so I could not figure out how to download the program. How do I allow the program to be downloaded?
