  • How te re-install Adobe Shockwave?

Hi, I'm a french person so I'll do my best to write my question in english
I recently re-install windows 7 on my computer. When I re-install Adobe shockwave 12, I got a message concerning the installation of a program helping my to optimize my computer. I said no to this program. After the installation of Adobe Shackwave 12, I forgot the name of this little program so I uninstall shockwave to re-install it and to take note of the program (Registry Mecanic). When I attemp to install shockwave for the second time, the link led me to a page where it was written "Install complete" but it is not in my program panel. So, I'm not able to install shockwave for a second time. Can you help me with that problem? I hope I was clear enough.
    Thank you

I don't know why Shockwave Player does not appear in your Control Panel after successful installation.
I suggest that you download the executable installer from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp - download the one under the header Netscape.
Note that the download page states Shockwave Player 11, but it is really version 12 that will be downloaded.

  • How can I restrict Adobe Creative Cloud to run for just one mac user?

Can anyone help with this please ...
(This is about how the Adobe Creative Cloud app works with OS X User accounts.  I have posted it on Adobe's Support forums, but nobody there had the solution.  Perhaps someone from the Apple/OSX end can help?)
I'm running Adobe CC on a 2010 iMac (OS X Yosemite).  I'm delighted with it, however ...
Several family members share the same iMac using separate user accounts.  Adobe CC seems to run on startup for all of them which is annoying for them as they get messages about updates etc, plus it takes up unnecessary system resources (particularly as we tend to use 'switch user' and Activity Monitor shows an instance of Adobe CC running for each user).
It's not listed in the Login Items list under System Preferences->Users & Groups, so I can't disable it there for other users, However it appears as an icon in the menu bar for any/all users a few moments after logging in - so something is triggering it to run, but I can't see what.
How can I restrict Adobe CC to run just for my user account please?
    Thanks
    Richard

The startup item is likely inside the /Library/LaunchAgents folder.
It will be something named like com.adobe.creativecloud.plist.
Move it out of the /Library/LaunchAgents folder into the User/Library/LaunchAgents folder for all the users that need it.
I don't know if it will work, but as long as Adobe wrote the launch agent correctly, it will work. Given that it is Adobe we're talking about, my bet is no.

  • How do I allow Adobe Application Manager for managed user?

When a managed user attempts to open CS5 Photoshop, this error comes up: "Adobe Application Manager is not allowed"
I know there is a way to give this app permissions in the Workgroup Manager, but I can't find them on the web (google or here)
Can anyone tell me which apps have to be allowed for CS5 Photoshop to work?

You can reinstall the Adobe Application Manager using this link http://www.adobe.com/applicationmanagerpatch/index.html.

  • How can I get adobe flash player to run without asking every time?

Every time I go to a site that needs adobe flash player it asks if its ok to let it run. How do I make it run without asking every time?

A possible cause is that you do not have the latest version of the Shockwave Flash player (16.0.0.305).
You can check that in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" ("Ask to Activate" or "Always Activate").
You can find the latest Flash player versions for Firefox on this page:

  • How can I allow a sub-vi to run independent of the main program once it has been called while still sending data to the sub-vi

I have a main program where I call a sub-vi. In this sub-vi, there is a while loop that is used to wait for commands in the sub-vi. While the while loop is running, I cannot continue with normal operation of the main program. I would like get the sub-vi to run independently once it has been called, but not hold up the main program. As well, I need to still be able to send data to the sub-vi

One way is to use VI Server, which has been mentioned by others. This will allow you to start another VI (by name) and run it entirely independently of the calling VI. This is a good way to start various independent VIs from a main menu, for example. None of the VIs thus called need have any connection to the others.
Another way it to have the SubVI in a separate while loop on the calling VI's BD. Then, use a local var to start this sub VI from the main loop. The calling VI sets a local START bit and continues running. The sub VI's while loop watches for this START bit to go true, and then runs the Sub VI. The advantage here is that one can more easily pass arguments to the SubVI when it is started, using local vars, which are preferable to globals. Once the Su
bVI is running, however, you must use a global Stop Bit, set in the calling VI, to stop it when the calling VI exits, or the calling VI will hang up, waiting for the Sub VI to close and exit its while loop.
If you need an example of this, email me. ([email protected]). I can also recommend Gary W. Johnson's excellent book which discusses this. ("LabVIEW Graphical Programming", 2nd Ed).
Note: Where possible, I try to call a subvi from within the main VI, wait till it is done, then continue. It avoids the use of locals & globals, and results in cleaner code, with fewer "race" conditions. However, the main VI stops until the subVI is done, hence one should make the subVI modal.

  • How can I make Adobe Premiere Elements 9 run faster on my computer?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 running windows vista 32 bit, and recently adobe premiere elements 9 has been having really rough playback, meaning it will often freeze or skip many frames when I try to watch what I have edited. It also stops responding very often. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

Almost any graphics adapter will do fine in PE9... it is not until you get to Premiere Pro that the graphics card makes a difference
If you only have the usual one hard drive of a laptop, a 2nd drive will help
Trying to use only ONE Hard Drive for Video Editing
You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video editing
You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708?tstart=0 for more) with Windows (or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything
I find that the three drives I use work very well for me, for editing AVCHD video... some people use a 4th drive, so video INPUT files are on drive three and all OUTPUT files are on drive four... I only bought a mid-tower case instead of a full tower case (my bad... but had to fit in the space available on my office desk!) so I use the three drives that will fit
Depending on your exact hardware (motherboard brand & model AND USB2 enclosure brand & model AND external hard drive brand & model) AND the type of video file, you may... or may NOT... be able to use an external USB2 hard drive for video editing
Steve Grisetti in the Premiere Elements forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856208?tstart=0 and Jim Simon in the Premiere Pro forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856433?tstart=0 use USB externals for editing
A USB3 hard drive connected to a motherboard with USB3 is supposed to be fast enough for video editing (I don't have such, so don't know) but eSata DOES have a fast enough data transfer for video editing... I have not used this eSata Dock... for reference only, YMMV and all the usual disclaimers

  • No matter how long I allow the Internet Recovery to run...

It doesnt seem to get more than 1/2 done and always says somthing like 10 or 11 hours left. Are there any utilities to aid in recovery that dont require having a bootable Mac.  I have one 2011 17" Pro and a standby Win7 in case of comlete failure.
The drive in the MBP died hard so I purchased and installed a new one. I get through the first step and start the recovery, but then seemingly nothing...

Sounds like your hitting a data cap or have a slow Internet connection.
Sorry there is no other way other than to take the machine to a faster Internet or to Apple to reinstall the OS.
Yes Internet restores of the operating system is totally stupid idea, so to combat that issue you make bootable clones to have before disaster strikes.

  • Does allowing adobe flash player plug in on safari give access to websites the ability to upload and transfer documents and files(on the computer) without permission?

Does allowing adobe flash player plug in on safari give access to websites the ability to upload and transfer documents and files(on the computer) without permission? Perhaps to their online server or somewhere where they designated them to transfer to?

It depends a bit on which version of Captivate you used to develop your modules and also which version of Flash Player you targeted when publishing your modules from Captivate. Say for example you use Captivate 5 and publish to Flash Player 10. Then your end user would need to have Flash Player 10 on their computer. It shouldn't matter if their version is 10.0.0 or 10.1.0 or 10.1.3 - just as long as it's a 10. If they only have Flash Player 9 then they will need to upgrade.
The "Access to Adobe.com is restricted" is most likely because the HTML that launches the Captivate SWF sees that you have targeted FP10 and the user only have FP9. Then it tries to direct a call to Adobe in order to present an "Upgrade to latest version of Flash" dialog for the user. This traffic is most likely denied by your IT department.
The first step is to find out which version of Flash Player is the most prevalent in your organization. If it is Flash Player 9 then simply select that when publishing from Captivate 5. If Flash Player 8 is the most used in your organization and you have CP5 or CP5.5 then you are in big trouble since FP8 is not supported from CP5 and CP5.5.
