How do I allow all third party cookies in my browser settings on my MacBook Pro?

pirihi,
open Safari’s Preferences, and select its Privacy tab. For the “Block cookies and other website data” set of radio buttons, select “Never”.

  • Allow limited third-party cookies?

A blog I frequent recently switched commenting to Disqus.com, which requires the browser to allow that site to install cookies (or otherwise access the cookies, I won't claim expertise here) even though I never actually visit that site. The upshot of this is that, in Safari, I must either allow all third party cookies or not comment. Firefox, which also had a helpful notice telling me that I needed to allow Disqus.com to use the cookies, allows one to specify specific URLs without having to allow every URL.
Can I do something similar in Safari? might the feature be available soon? is there some plug-in or other application which can overcome this obstacle?

Not that I am aware of, but I have Cookie Preferences set to 'Accept cookies only for sites I visit', but I only wish to retain cookies for the sites i regularly visit, like these forums and others.
To that end I use a small app called SafariCookies:
    http://sweetpproductions.com/safaricookies/
which only works on Leopard and Snow Leopard. This adds an item in Safari Preferences whereby you can automatically delete all cookies on shutdown, except those particular 'favourite' ones you wish to retain to avoid entering your user name and password each time you visit.
It would seem that Disqus want you to allow their advertisers to install cookies on your Mac. I would not allow them to do that.

  • HT1296 How can I transfer all my photos from my Ipad Mini to my new MacBook Pro

How can I transfer all my photos from my Ipad Mini to my new MacBook Pro
I am facing problem while I connect to my iPad mini with MacBook Pro , it only sync photo from its taken by and from it camera roll only. It doesn't sync all the images... Like my all albums. All photos in library....

To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.
You should also be able to copy albums that you've created directly on the iPad via apps such as Simple Transfer (though I haven't tried it)

iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - just media purchased from iTunes Store
i-devices are intended to by synced with iTunes (iTunes --> device), not transfer things to iTunes.  For transferring songs from i-device to computer see commercial software utilities (with the exception of iTunes purchases). • How do I prevent unauthorized third party launch of my browser?

With all the concern for security I just can't understand why a third party program can just open my browser without permission or warning and load any page it pleases. I install a new program or update an old and it opens a Thank You or Getting Started page. I uninstall a program and it opens a Reason For Leaving survey. I click a button in a memory intensive game and here comes Firefox to suck up the rest of my RAM and cause a crash.
At least with the combined protections of Mozilla and my anti-virus I needn't worry too much about being taken to a malicious site or other evil applications of this vulnerability but it's annoying. Shouldn't the decision to open Firefox (or any program) be mine alone?

I don't understand. If a web browser can't know from whence an application is launched then how could another program.
If your firewall or other security software has this feature, you can set up rules for dealing with this. For example, by default you could prevent external applications from launching web browsers. You could then set up rules for specific applications to allow them to launch web browsers. That way you could still click links in an e-mail client and open them in a browser, for instance.
    ''OGRastamon wrote:''
Did you mean that Firefox does not currently detect this? That it is not possible to implement?
As far as I know, no browser allows you to ignore links launched by external applications. You can request this feature by submitting an enhacement bug report, if a relevant one doesn't already exist.

If by my "computer's application page" you mean "set program access and computer defaults" then no, it does not work. The only options are any of your installed browsers or your current browser.
You could break the association for the HTTP and HTTPS protocols in the registry, but I don't recommend it.

  • How do I enable third party cookies?

    Hi Everyone,
I am trying to complete my homework on the My Math Lab website, and this is the message that I keep getting, "You don't have a subscription to this site. Please make sure that the siteid or abbrev is correct. If you are accessing this site from Pearson MyLab / Mastering, make sure your browser settings allow all third party cookies." Is any able to help?
    Thanks

Safari - Preferences - Privacy - Block Cookies : Never
should enable 3rd party cookies, although you might also disable any Safari extensions, in case that's a problem.
Safari 6 (OS X Mountain Lion): Manage cookies
Failing that, remove any existing cookies for them, via Cookies & other website data - Details...
& if still an issue - try another browser to see if that allows the site to work.

  • I can't enable/disable "allow third party cookies" with the new Firefox preferences

The newly revised preferences for Firefox--specifically 'Privacy' and 'Security' don't appear to have an option for me to enable and disable third-party cookies. I don't allow them generally, but need to enable them in order to use my bank's billpay. PLEASE--if anyone has an answer to this, I'm trying to find out how to enable and disable third-party cookies, as I did with the previous Firefox preferences.

In the History section of Options -> [[Options window - Privacy panel|Privacy]] , is the dropdown set to 'Firefox will: ''Use custom settings for History'' '?
This should reveal the granular settings for saving cookies and forms, etc.

  • Why does firefox hang or not respond when I am using disable third party cookies setting

I have, by process of elimination, realized that when using the setting "allow third party cookies - 'never' ", causing my firefox to hang so much that I cannot use it. I have used that setting "allow third party cookies - 'never' ", for as long as it has been available. Over that last few months, I have been having problems with firefox hanging and getting the message "firefox not responding". It became very annoying, causing me to look for a solution. I read through the kb and tried many solutions. I can now say that when I change the cookie settting to "always" the problem goes away. It is helped only slightly by using the "from visited" setting. How can I fix this? I don't want all the cookies but I cannot surf with this problem constantly.

The problem is that "third party" includes both related servers and advertising networks; the setting is too crude to accomplish the objective of blocking tracking cookies that you don't want.
My compromise is to accept all third party cookies, but set cookie lifetime to "Keep until: I close Firefox." As a result, tracking is limited in time, even if during any given session I can be seen on different sites. (I also use the NoScript extension, so many ads driven by scripts never load.)

  • Not allowing third party cookies

I have absolutely no idea what happened, but flash player isn't allowing third party cookies on my mac. I've uninstalled re-installed and took plug-ins out of the internet plug-ins folder to see if any of them were conflicting with flash player and still no results. The worst part is that on the global settings panel inside of the adobe website it wont allow me to change any settings. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Another interesting fact is that flash works fine under other users. At this point it seems like the only solution is to transfer all my files to another account. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

  • How do I enable third party cookies in Firefox 5

I keep getting the message telling me to enable third party cookies. The instructions for how to do so tell me to choose the options feature from the tools drop down menu, then to click on "privacy" and check a certain box that would enable cookies.
This check box is not on the privacy menu. What do I do?

    Using the Menu Bar:
*press the ALT or F10 key to get the Menu Bar to '''''temporarily''''' appear
*with your mouse make the selection Tools > Options > Privacy
Using the Firefox button (Firefox 4 & 5):
*click the Firefox button > Options > Options > Privacy
To see the third-party cookies option, at the top of the Privacy panel set "Firefox will" to "Use custom settings for history"
See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Options%20window%20-%20Privacy%20panel Options window - Privacy panel]
