How do I alter a PDF stored in my documents

I have an IMac.  I created and scanned a resume into my documents.  How do I edit or must I retype

A PDF file cannot be edited as is. You would need a converter program to convert the PDF into a document that can be edited in a text editor or word processor. There are many such utilities. I use Wondershare PDF Converter Pro 3.5.3 that works quite well in converting PDFs into several formats such as for Word. They also have their Wondershare PDF Editor 3.6.1.
In reality almost any OCR software that can work on a PDF file could provide a similar service although less elegant.

What do you want to do specifically.  They are two different document formats - one is PDF, the other DOC or DOCX.  In what way do you wish to "add" ad PDF to a word document. You can embed a mini version within a document (copy it and paste it from within the x.doc) but that's a pretty hokey looking solution.
Oh, its mostly irrelevant if its office 2004,8 or 11 - they all do this more or less the same way.

    Hi pharmovative,
You can use the Combine PDF feature of Adobe PDF pack to combine multiple PDF files into one document. (Or, if you have the full version of Acrobat, you an do it there as well by choosing Create > Combine Files into a Single PDF.)

Hey David, add some security to it. You can even keep people from printing it if you want to, or even need a password to open it.

  • How do I change a PDF to a word document?

How do i change aa PDF to a word document?

In Mac preferred method (because it uses Adobe's PDF engine):
Save file as word Document (for Backup)
    Go to Print Menu
Click and hold on PDF button until context menu appears
    Choose Adobe PDF
Wait for menu to change - choose quality (this eqivelent to job options in Distiller) and turn off open with Reader (or Acrobat)
Then click okay to go to nex window item
Either use Title assigned or change (I usually remove references to Microsoft Word-, and .docx so it just shows as for example Joes.pdf),
Browse (pick out) to desired save Location.
    Click Save.
Go to location saved and open.
Notes: Expect to multiple PDF if the Word document page have switches in Page orientations.
URL links won't cme over with this method.
To have Urls to be active (except those created with the Format menu > URL)
    Do the following:
    Locate the Word Document
Locate the acrobat Icon on the Dock (similar to Start up menu on PC)
Drag the word document to the icon of Acrobat on Dock and Drop
Wait ........... You might have enough time to boil you a pot of coffee
When PDF pops up on screen save at once!
You will now have a document that will have live MailTo's and URL's except for those created with the URL wizard ( select desired word> go to Formtat menu > URL >when opens type desired URL or Mailto)
This is a 15 year old bug Adobe refuses to fix. Don't bleive the blather the put out bout the proper hook in Mac Version That's been proven as false years ago.

  • How do I render a PDF stored in interMedia object?

I have a pdf stored in an interMedia object and would like to simply render it to the browser. If I drop an <adf:render> tag for it, it creates a hyperlink for it. I'd like it to simply display it.
That is, say I call my page like this:
    ShowMeThePDF?Key=<<rowkeystr here>>
How can I get it to simply render it in that page or forward to something to render it, whatever?
    CONFUSED.

    Hi,
There are a couple of ways to do it, the usual is to use the url from the <adf:render> tag, how like you I've run into the issue where you actually want to redirect straight to the PDF. As yet I haven't found a way to get the rendered URL from the adf:render tag to work.
The solution I've had working for a while is to use a servlet or jsp (servlet recommended) which sends PDF headers and just dumps the bytes to the browser, it's worked wonderfully well, the itext website has examples you can adapt [http://itextdocs.lowagie.com/tutorial/general/webapp/index.html#JSP]
Ideally, I'd like to just use adf's ordDeliverMedia servlet as you're trying to do but I haven't been able to get it working standalone either. I expect the cache id on the rendered urls refers to the memory/session/somethin cache of the file which is created when the tag is encountered on the page. That being the case I'm at a loss on how one can manipulate it from the model pages .. same with the BI Graphs...
It would be really great if oracle put up some more functional examples of ordmedia usage...and let the filename of the downloaded be renamed...

  • How do I open a pdf stored in a Microsoft Access database using Visual Basic studios 2012

Currently I am unable to find a valid method of being able to open a pdf stored in a Microsoft Access database using Visual Basic studios 2012. I've tried displaying the entire database on a form, but when I do this all the other columns show up with
the correct data besides the one containing the pdf's, it just displays <binary data> in each row down the column. I also tried another method with which you use the database as a dataset and can drag and drop the rows and columns into the form, which
again works for all the other columns besides the one containing the pdf's but this time I'm unable to interact with the column  at all.
Not too sure if this is in the correct place, but any answers or help would be appreciated. Cheers.

    Alex,
This forum is dedicated to Project and Project Server. You might get better response, if you post to a Visual Basic forum. Here are couple I could find.

  • How do you Display a PDF stored as a BLOB in Apex?

We are trying to use Apex for the first time here in our shop. The project we have selected has PDFs stored on the database as BLOBS that we currently are able to display with our forms application. We want to do this using apex, and have them appear on one of the pages in the application. I want the PDF to display on the page, when the page itself is invoked, without the need to click on a download link on the page itself.
I've seen certain examples displaying images etc, but I haven't found one that specifically refers to the display of a PDF database BLOB on a page (I assuming a report page) within Apex.
Also, since I've just set up the Apex environment utilizing Oracle HTTP Server in the middle tier, do I need Oracle's BI Publisher in order to display the PDFs in Apex?
Thanks in advance. Any advice or links would be much appreciated.
    Phil

Thanks for the quick response, and you are correct. I've seen examples that include a link to specifically display the PDF, but I don't want them to be able to directly go to the PDF outside the context of the page itself. These are letters of recommendation that we store on our DB, and this application, for our med school admissions screeners, will be looking at up to three letters of recommendation for each applicant to which they have been assigned. We want them to click on an applicant, and then through a series of tabs view data on that applicant, some of which will be his/her letters of recommendation.

  • How can I open a PDF stored in IXOS and then display it in a BSP

    Hello gurus,
I have created a PDF icon and an onclick action to open a pdf, that displays on every row of an assignment block in the actions column, but I do not know the technical process to determine how to get a PDF from the IXOS system from the line selected. (even if I know it depends on an ID attribute of that assignment block) I want to to call a transaction launcher with the url for the pdf in the IXOS that has an ID that identifies which line in the assignment block the user has clicked the pdf icon for (does that make sense?)
Therefore, I am assuming the PDF should correspond to the relance ID of the row in the assignment block, but I would like more information as per the business logic involved in able to achieve the desired results for this particular specification. I already confirmed that the XURL or any other attribute in the BOL object does not contain the URL to use for this. I have looked at the class I was told that it may contain the required business logic for determining which PDF in IXOS to fetch for a particular row, and I am currently trying to reverse engineer the logic through looking at other code and using the debugger, but so far I haven'T had much luck.
Here are some questions I have now for the functional side in the meantime:
    1) Can we fetch the PDF in IXOS for each line of an assignment block?
    2) Which URL should I call with the transaction launcher? a URL link to the PDF on the IXOS system??
    3) Do we have to configure a transaction in the IMG to be launched?
    4) Do we have to create a logical link there that I will make dynamic to call the right PDF for each table line?
    5) Are there any existing examples of this or a similar functionality/ logic that I could refer to, preferably in CRM 7 WebUI?
    6) Do you have any code to just display a PDF in a new window? Or prompt a download?
One possible way I thought of would be for me to have a logical link defined in the IMG, that I could call passing it different attributes (eg. some object id, etc) and then return the PDF and display it in the UI in a new browser window by itself. Alternatively, we can just prompt a download. What do you think would be the optimal behaviour here?
Please do not hesitate to propose any potential solution. Any partial answers/ links to wikis/ other threads, anything would be much appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    Jonathan Laplante
