How do I apply a preset to multiple images at once?

I'm almost embarassed to ask this, because it seems so simple. But I'm new to LR and need some help.
I want to apply a preset (exmample, a preset that resembles film) to multiple images at once. (similar to batch editing in Photoshop) but I want want the white balance etc to necessarily be the same, obviously. Please help!

Select all of your thumbnails in the develop module film strip or in the library prior to going into develop. Then turn on Auto-Sync. Any adjustment you make to your first image will be repeated on all of the selected images. Or just perfect your first image and choose sync. You will see a pop-up dialog and you can choose exactly which develop settings you wish to sync e.g. white balance only or white balance and other settings.
To be clear Auto-sync will apply all develop settings on the fly to all selected images.
Sync will apply the settings from the first selected image to all of the subsequently selected images unless you choose exceptions. For example you may wish to apply exposure, contrast, highlights and shadows from your perfected image but not the crop settings.
Don't forget to turn off Auto-Sync when you have finished otherwise it will affect future editing.
P.S. There is no such thing as an embarrassing question. The beginners forum is designed entirely for that purpose.

  • How do I apply a preset to multiple photos at once using Lightroom CC

This is a feature I used to use a lot within Lightroom 5, in the grid view, I used to select all the photos I wanted to apply it to, right click, Develop, then find my preset and apply it.
This seems to either have moved or gone from Lightroom CC?
    Here's a screenshot of what I mean...
If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
P.S I don't want to use sync as that's not exactly what I'm after which other people have suggested.

When you installed LR CC 2015 did you upgrade your earlier catalog? Normally everything should transfer including presets but you may need to copy from your previous version if third party presets have not installed.
From LR CC 2015 click the menu:
Lightroom >> Preferences >> Presets (tab)
To show the system location click the button “Show Lightroom Presets Folder”
You can then double-click on Lightroom and again on Develop Presets. Drag your Kellie Hatcher folder into Develop Presets.
On Mac the default location is usually:
    Macintosh HD\Users\User Name\Library\Application Support\Adobe\Lightroom
    Windows – go to:
Edit >> Preferences >> Presets (tab)
    Default location:
    C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom

  • Applying settings preset to multiple images in ACR v4.3

When attempting to apply a preset to multiple images in ACR, the preset is only applied to the "current" or "active" image. The other images in the thumbnail pane remain unchanged, even though they are selected. This function works correctly in Bridge, but not in ACR. "Synchronizing" the files does not do the same thing, as my preset incorporates "Apply auto tone adjustments." What am I missing?

Pardon my misunderstanding of the question. I just tried it, and the method of selecting the images has no impact (e.g., the "select all" button, or hold "shift" or "ctrl" and click on multiple images...)
All the boxes are checked in the "synchronize" dialog. However, this synchronizes all of the settings to the "active image," which ties the tone adjustments to that image, which is undesirable. I just want to automatically adjust the tones (as part of my preset) to all of the selected images.
Based upon input from this tread, this is the refined procedure I use to "check" if it's working (which hasn't for me so far):
    1) Select multiple images (or all, if you prefer)
    2) Apply "camera raw defaults" Note that the settings default to Blacks: +5, Brightness: +50, Contrast: +25
    3) Apply a saved preset (saved with the check box "Apply auto tone adjustments" checked).
    4) Note that the Blacks, Brightness, and Contrast sliders only "adjust" for the "active" image, but don't change for the other selections. They remain at Blacks: +5, Brightness: +50, Contrast: +25
Again, if I perform this procedure in Bridge, it works for all selected images. However, in ACR, it functions as described above.
    Does that clear it up?
Thanks for the prompt responses so far. I hope I'm simply doing something incorrectly!

  • How do I apply a preset to multiple photos

I thought I could apply a single preset to multiple photos, I know I can apply the presets during import, but I selected multiple photo's and clicked on the preset, but the preset was applied to only one photo, what am I doing wrong?
I'm using LR 2 with Leopard (Intel)
    Thanks.

I am not sure about Mac but on Windows, select the files Ctrl button and click the sync button at the lower right side. It should then change to Auto Sync and any changes you now make will be applied to all the selected photos. Make sure you change it back to sync mode when you are done, use Ctrl and click to reset. There may be other ways to achieve this.
See the post by John this should be easier.

  • Is it possible to apply an adjustment to multiple images at once?

I'd like to be able to apply a simple Auto Enhance to multiple images. I don't see where that's possible, but maybe someone has an answer. Thanks in advance.

    I'm sorry.  I wrote wrong.  .
    Here are correct instructions:
    To create this Effect:
    - Select one Image with no adjustments.
    - Apply Auto-Enhance by clicking the magic wand icon at the top right toolbar of the Adjustments Inspector.
    - Click the Effects drop-down (to the left of the magic wand icon) and select "Save as Effect".
    - Name the Effect (suggestion: "Auto-Enhance (built-in)").

  • How do I adjust the levels of multiple images at once?

CS6 user, I recently scanned a few pages of an old black and white comic, which thanks to the passage of time are now more black and beige.
I know how to adjust levels using the eyedropper tool but is there a way to apply the same effect to several images in one go (i.e. adjust the levels of one image then apply the same effect to the others as a batch of files), rather than pressing ctrl+alt+l and saving each image individually?
    Thanks

You can also select all of the images in bridge, go to Tools, Photoshop, Load files into layers. Then select all layers, put them into a group (Cmd G), add layer mask to the group and do the levels there.

  • How do I apply same adjustments to multiple photos at the same time?

How do I apply same adjustments to multiple photos at the same time?

You can't but you can copy the adjustments made on one photo and apply/paste it onto another by:
1 - Control (right)-clicking one the edited photo in the Edit mode and selecting Copy Adjustsments
2 - Control-clicking on the next photo and selecting Paste Adjustments.

  • Apply Same Preset to Multiple Render Queue Selection

    Hi,
I´m trying to apply the same preset to multiple render items on the queue panel.
What´s happening is: i select multiple render items on the render queue panel of Media Encoder, then select a preset and drag and drop this preset to alter all the render items (hopefully). But no..
With drag and drop even if i have a multiple selection the dragged preset only goes to on render item. If i select not the item name but the output name, the same thing happens.
If i make my multiple selection and double click on the preset name it does add the preset to all the selection but it does not replace one for the other..  (so i got 2 outputs presents when wanting only one)
    Hope my explanation makes sense.
Its this feature existent on Media Encoder or am i doing something wrong?

Replacing an output via drag & drop only works on the output you drag the preset to, regardless of your current selection.  Also, if you apply a preset with multiple outputs selected it always adds a new output, as you mentioned.
However, if you have multiple outputs selected and choose a different preset from the Preset popup menu in the Queue, all the outputs are changed at once which sounds like the behavior you want.  You'll only see presets for the current format in the Preset popup menu so you may need to switch the Format popup first to see the preset you want.
I like the idea of replacing multiple outputs via drag & drop though, I'll add a feature request for this.

  • How to apply lens correction profile to multiple images at once?

I have a quick newbie question and I couldn't find an answer in a brief search that I did. Is it possible to apply lens correction profile automatically to multiple images at once? For my RAW images, LR automatically detects the lens and applies the correction profile for an image if I manually click on "Enable lens correction" option under Develop module (in the right pane where adjustments are made). However, I would like to do this to multiple images all at once.
    Thanks,
    Osho

Be careful using develop setting synchronization for lens profile across mutiple images! This allows applying an incorrect profile (i.e. Canon 17-40mm profile with synchronization to images shot with multiple lenses) First use the 'filter' tool to make sure you select images shot with only one (1) lens type. Then follow one of the procedures here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Lightroom/3.0/Using/WS0E6E6886-E223-4050-B6E0-A97B5B62EF7D.htm l
You can also change the "default" develop settings with 'Lens Profile' option checked and then save as the "new default" setting. LR will then "automatically" apply lens profile correction on import of new images.

  • How to create a pdf file from multiple images ?

    Dear All,
I want to create a SINGLE page pdf file from two or more page size images that are combined to make a single page pdf. Again, this question is on pdfs that are made out of several, atleast  two color images and a black-and-white mask for one of them.
I have such pdf files from an unknown source (the producer is edited out) whereby there are three tiff images, obtained using the well known pdfimages extractor.
When I want to make a pdf out of tiff or png or other image formats, I right click and tell Adobe Acrobat to make a pdf.
However, I dont know how I can give a command to select say,  three tif images and specify which is the mask for which and then join  them in a way that I get the pdf from the composite of the two color images and a mask for one of them.
    Please help me out.
I am a little familiar with the pdf structure skeleton and when necessary, fixed xref tables in one of my favorite editors. A few years ago, I also wrote a bunch of javascripts to make some annotations and needed some automation and used some itext type libraries. However, I need your help in this problem as I am now rusty and forgot some of what I studied to solve my earlier problems. This is a new problem for me. Gentle hints from you would be very nice to help me in this problem. Please specify if necessary what manual and pages to read. in the pdfspec.

I would gladly mention that I am working on windows platform, preferably XP.
I can also work on linux for free products that come with it.

Well, just add the few pdf stanzas since you are proficient on it and
I am presently a little rusty as I mentioned. Just asking a little
extra yard, not even to go an extra mile.

Well, ascii format or uncompressed format that is human readable. I
know its a binary file, but human readable ascii version of it.
I hope you can give me some stanza and various other approaches
possible so I can select or combine things for myself. I see only a
miniscule number of posts claiming to have written masks in this forum
    and then with no details.

  • How can I remove people tags from MULTIPLE images in Organizer 13?

How can I remove people tags from MULTIPLE images in Organizer 13?  The strategy for removing keyword tags does not work. It appears that keyword tags and People tags are considered something completely different in 13.  I highlight multiple images, right click, and under keyword tags it says there are no keyword tags. There does not appear to be an option for people or other tags. Can anyone help? It is going to take literally hundreds of hours for me to do this one photo one tag at a time.  ??

That CSS is complete nonsense. The correct way to remove borders from around links is here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/417110.
If you want to get rid of dotted lines, they are almost certainly caused by the outline property. However, outlines around links are there for a reason: it provides a visual "you are here" clue to people who navigate the web with the keyboard, either through preference or because of disability. You shouldn't remove the dotted outline without providing a different visual clue.

  • Stamping presets to multiple images doesn't work in 3.3?

I used to be able to lift adjustments from one image select multiple images and stamp multiple images at once. This doesn't seem to work in 3.3. Can someone verify please?

The hot key is ⇧⌘V  (in the main menu bar : Metadata > Stamp Metadata and Adjustments) and this hot key also works for me on multiple selected images, provided "Primary only" is not enabled, as William pointed out. But I usually keep the Lift & Stamp HUD open, to be able to deselect some adjustment.

  • Is there a way to format multiple images at once? Change colour mode or resolution?

Is there a way to format multiple images at once? Change colour mode or resolution?

It's very easy to make an action.
    Go to window > actions
In the actions panel, simply click the 'create a new action' button, it starts recording as soon as you've created it (when you've given it a name).
Now you can apply the changes you want to make to the images on the file you have opened.
After you've done all you need to do. You click the 'stop' button. The action is now ready to use. And you can apply the changes you made on all the other files.
Then you can continue how gener7 explained.
I usually include a save and close command, so that the whole batch doesn't end up opened after running the script.
But if you do that you have to create a new file, and save it to your computer before you start recording the action, otherwise the save command will be replaced by each file. And you'll end up with one edited file in the end. At least for as far as I know!

  • How to switch off 'crop' edit in many images at once?

I know how to lift and stamp to apply edits to several selected images at once. However, if I have cropped many images within a project in different ways, then want to switch off the crop on all of them, is there a way? Without laboriously going through one-by-one and un-checking the 'crop' box?
Likewise is it possible to apply auto-exposure to many images (batch process)? When stamping, it applies the exact same exposure change from the lifted version, but different images require different exposure compensations of course.

1 - yes, on one image leave the crop box checked and click the circular arrow (reset) ... this has the crop enabled but no crop ... then L&S that adjustment to all the ones you want, you just reset the crop on all of them ...
2 - no ... with the auto adjustment it creates an adjustment ... when you L&S that adjustment, that is what you get, that specific adjustment ... you are one of hundreds that want that and ask for it here ... use the feedback menu option to send feedback to dev team ... or use http://www.apple.com/feedback/aperture.html

  • How would you apply different calibrations to multiple channels

I'm attempting to apply calibration data to multiple channels. The calibrations could have been done at different times for different channels and could be using different fits. I think I have a solution for just applying the calibration information to one channel. I'm posting the solution for one channel in this post. In the next post I will include the multi-channel problem I'm working on. I had to add txt onto the initial file in order to post this.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the links John. I just logged on to post my working solution so I haven’t had a chance to look at them yet.
I’ve been working on this problem and have come up with the below attachment. I believe the logic is correct, but do not know if this is the most efficient way of doing this. I start by reading the calibration information in my ini file for only the channels that I am collecting data for. This is accomplished by the case structure enclosed in the for loop. The calibration values are stored as variables so I don’t have to read them with each data point I collect. I then start the data collection within my while loop. As I collect the data I pass it through a for loop where I apply the calibration curve to it and pull the calibration variables from the 2nd case structure. I’m using a for loop for this so I can index the wave files and apply the correct calibration information to each one. The channels and sections will be inputs to this vi from the choose channel vi.
John I don’t know if this is better or worse than what you are suggesting. I will read the links you sent me.
Does anybody have any comments on what I’ve put together?
    Thanks, Eric
