How do I arrange images by numerical order

Hi Forum,
How do I arrange images by numerical order or alphabetical order?
Somehow my images in a Project got scrambled and they appear to be in some random order. I'd like to re-arrange them back to the original order which was in numerical sequence.
I'm using Aperture 3.1.2.
Thanks,
Steve

Sort options for the Browswer are available via the drop-down at the upper left of the Browser pane.  Additionally, you can sort on any metadata you can add to List View.  There are seven Metadata Overlays, including one for List View.  Recommend customizing List View Metadata Overlay to show every field available.  In List View, click a column heading to sort (and again to reverse the order).  Once sorted this way, the column header will show as a selection in the Browser sort drop-down.

  • Putting Images in Numerical Order

I am trying to create a slideshow from my Aperture library and the images in iDVD to not appear in numerical order--they seem to be random. I put the images in numerical order in Aperture, but nothing helps. Its like iDVD randomly sorts these.
I have almost 200 images and need them in numerical order (so my vacation doesn't seem random!) and putting them in order is worse than a 1000 piece puzzle!

I've been using that naming convention since learning it from an old boss years ago. It's always worked for me. Glad it solved your problem.

  • Creating slideshow - importing images in numerical order

I am creating my first slideshow in iDVD '06. I want the images to appear in numerical order as they do in their original folder. When I drag multiple images over from a folder, they appear in random order. Is it possible to maintain the numerical order?

Mandy - if you want a quick slideshow, why not do it in iPhoto where you can quickly arrange the photos how you want? You can then Share/Export to Quicktime and bring it in to iDVD (my preference) or use the iDVD option within iPhoto to transfer the slideshow.

  • Bridge not showing images in numerical order

I'm in Bridge CS3 .  Out of a folder full of 108 images all are in numerical order except for 6 that are out of sequence.  I double and triple checked that my filenames were all uniform except for the numbers.  What's going on here, can someone shed some light?  I'm attaching a screen capture showing items 002 - 007 out of sequence.

According to your screenshot the filter panel shows sort by Date created. If
you change this (click on the name or the little triangles to show the
submenu with this option) to sort by filename (you can choose between
ascending and descending with the other arrow) it will show the correct
order. There are also more sort orders to choose from

  • How can I arrange my Playlists in Order in the sidebar?

I'm trying to arrange my Smart Playlists in alphabetical order in the sidebar. However, When I click and drag, the order of the playlists don't re-arrange themselves. Any ideas how to do this?
    Thanks!

You cannot rearrange them. They should already be in alphabetical order, smart playlists first, then regular playlists.

  • How do I arrange songs in an order?

When connected to computer and iTunes under devices is my iPod. First is Music with all my songs, then my playlists that I don't know how to access with iPod.
I can rearrange my playlists but that is not what my iPod is using - it is using the Music list that I can't rearrange. I need the songs to play in a specific order for a party.
    Shuffle works fine.
    Thanks in advance.

I tried naming them by number (i.e 1 Title, 2 Title etc...) but when I unplugged the ipod, the list cam out jumbled again...
I am trying to mix two albums together, I renamed them all to be one album (greatest hits) and then tried numbering them so they would play in order but no luck...

  • How to import images in alphabetical order???

How may I import images in alphabetical order? I have a stack of images that I have renamed so that they are in alphabetical order. However, when I import these ~100 images into iPhoto, it sorts them in some other order (perhaps, although I am not sure, by time taken). If iPhoto does not allow one to import alphabetically (although I sure hope it does, since this would be very convenient), any ideas how I may modify the image taken time so that I can get this set imported in the order that I need?
    Thank you very much!

What print service are you using? Is it an online print service? Or an iPhoto plug-in? To upload to a website you should export the photos (a Desktop folder is convenient) and choose the exports for the upload.
If you are using the Finder to see a list of files, the Finder always lists them in alpha-numeric order. To get a list of photos to export to your Desktop (for uploading) and preserve your order, try this: create an Album, sort them the way you want, then Export to a Desktop folder. In the Export dialog, choose "use Album name" as the filename option. This will preserve your order upon export and name the files "Album name - 01.jpg, Album name - 02.jpg, ..., Album name - 99.jpg." It only works with 99 or fewer photos in the album, so for more photos create another album.

  • Having arranged some scanned pictures in an album in I-Photo how can I keep them in the order I have chosen when I move the album. They all have the scan date and not the taken date and move to new positions if I move them from one album to another.

Having arranged some scanned pictures in an album in I-Photo how can I keep them in the order I have chosen when I move the album. They all have the scan date and not the taken date and move to new positions if I move them from one album to another.
Is there any way to re-number them in the order I have chosen so that they can then be sorted by number? The scans are all from pre-digital images that I wish to move to a photobook and I don't want to have to organise them twice!
    Thanks for any suggestions.

I was a bit short, Chris, sorry. It is limited, what can be posted, when typing on an iPad.
Now I am back on my Mac. I meant the following:  Batch Change the date for a large range of photos, that should have a date stepped in increments.
Select all Photos at once and use the command "Photos > Batch Change".
Then set the date for the first photo and select an increment, e.g. one minute.
Now all photos will get a new date assigned, incremented by one minute, in the sequence you have selected. So you will be able to sort them by date.  This way it will be unnecessary to change the titles or filenames.

  • How to play images in name order

I have a folder in i-Photo with approx 400 image all named in sequence 000, 001, 002 etc
Drop this folder in iDvd in to slide show and they apear to be in total random order
I can sort them by hand but is there a way to get them to list and play in the correct order?

To late to edit the above post so i'll simply add this info here. It's directly from the Getting Started in iDvd'08 pdf. Let me know if these 2 pages help (starting w/ pg #14)
    Step 5: Add a Slideshow
Adding a slideshow to your iDVD project is a great way to enhance your DVD and show
your photographs. You can use a slideshow already created in iPhoto, or you can use
iDVD to create a slideshow from a group of pictures.
You can even create a DVD that has no movies at all but rather showcases your photos
in one or more slideshows. Depending on the amount of other content included and
the size of your photos, your DVD can hold up to 9801 images.
In this step, you’ll create a slideshow of photographs and movies in iDVD and add a
    soundtrack.
To create a slideshow in iDVD:
1 If the main menu is not showing, click the Back button on the scene selection menu to
    return to the main menu.
2 Click the Add button at the bottom of the iDVD window and choose Add Slideshow
    from the pop-up menu.
A button labeled “My Slideshow” appears on the menu. This button may appear too far
from the movie button. Leave it as it is for now. You’ll learn how to reposition buttons
in “Changing Button Shapes” on page 23.
Click My Slideshow to select the text, and then type My Photos.
If you want to modify the text, use the controls in the in-place editor to do so.
3 Click outside the text area to deselect the text, and then double-click the My Photos
button to open the slideshow editor.
The iDVD window changes automatically to show the Photos pane.
    P. 15
The slideshow editor, shown below, is a blank screen with the words “Drag images
    here.”
4 Drag photos one at a time or in groups from the Photos pane to the slideshow editor.
You can even drag a whole album to the slideshow editor.
If you haven’t imported photos into iPhoto, you won’t see photos in this list. You can
open iPhoto anytime and import some photos, or you can drag photos from other
locations on your hard disk directly to the slideshow editor.
5 Arrange the images in the order in which you want them to appear.
Drag the images in the slideshow editor to rearrange them. To delete images, select the
ones you want to remove, and then press the Delete key on your keyboard.
    Access the Photos
    pane to add photos
    to your slideshow.

  • How do I arrange my photos in the order that I want on my Ipad?

How do I arrange my photos in the order that I want on my Ipad?

Sadly, it's not possible within the iPad itself. You have to arrange the photos in iPhoto albums -- which of course assumes you're syncing it to a Mac and not a PC -- then sync to see any changes.
And worst of all, images that are only in the iPad's own "Camera Roll" album can't be rearranged at all. If you'd like to see such functionality in future versions of iOS, you should leave feedback for them at:

  • How to get my images always order by file name, and not by time of captur, in all the folders in the library?

How to get my images always order by arquive name, and not by time of captur, in all the folders in the library?
Sorry for the poor english, but im portugues.
In the library we can change the order of classification of image by, time of capture, name of file etc... I'm wondering if its possible define to be always by the name of file.
    It ´s possible?
And i have other question, in print label we have an option to auto rotate to feet in page to have the image using the maximum area in the page (auto rotate, zoom etc), its possible to change the orientation of the rotation to be always in  the other direction?

The Muvos are USB Mass Storage devices and do not have the ability to display track information based upon ID3 tags.
The Zens all read and display track info based upon ID3 tag information that is either gathered from an online source or entered by the end-user.
If you want the track information displayed instead of the ID3 tag information, you could edit the ID3 tags and rename the title to whatever you have as the file name. Not sure why your file names would differ so much from the ID3 tag info though, almost all of my content has the same name for the filename as it does on the ID3 tag title.

  • IPhoto 9 v. 8.1.2 How do I arrange my pictures in chronological order?

    iPhoto 9 v. 8.1.2
    OS X 10.8.5
    Hi
In any iPhoto window, my pictures don't layout in chronological order. I would like them to. I need to look at my pictures and see them in the sequence in which I took them. In the Mac Finder, there are many choices given for how to arrange files and folders. The one I would like to have for iPhoto is "Date Added".
How do I arrange my pictures in chronological order?
    Thanks

    Terence,
OK. I see that now. Thanks.
I looked up DSCF. There doesn't seem to be a consensus on just what the acronym means.
Digital Still Camera Fujifilm. I'll take this since my camera's a Fuji.
Digital Storage Compact Flash (digital camera)
Choosing "sort by title" seems to work to layout the pictures chronologically (Attachment 1.). The title appears to be the DSCF followed by a number and the number sequence represents the sequence the pictures were taken in. This is also my recollection of what sequence the pictures were taken in.
What I don't understand is "sort by date" (Attachment 2.) "Sort by date" throws all that DSCF sorted by title out of sequence. I can't figure out what the pattern it is that's created here. Where is Iphoto picking up it's dating data, and why are the DSCF numbers out of alignment?
    Attachment 1: Sort by title
    Attachment 2: Sort By Date
    Thanks for your input,
    Rafael
