    It should be an attachment.  Your Mac just displays a preview of certain attachments (such as .pdfs) in the body of the message.  A PC, for example, will see it as an attached file rather than a preview.
    You can save the attachment on your Mac by Control-clicking on it and selecting Save Attachment.

    I use Mail for my email messages. How do I attach a file as an icon rather than showing the full text in the message box?

    Glad you got it working! Incidentally, if you have a relatively new Apple mouse (Magic Mouse or Mighty Mouse should work), you should be able to enable right-click, if you'd like it, by going to System Preferences - Mouse - and turning on "Secondary click". Third-party mice, like Logitech or Microsoft, should have right-click automatically.

  • How do I attach photo files to email message in iPhoto '11?

    Apple says, "If you want recipients to be able to use the photos you send, rather than simply view them, you can attach the photo files to your email message. (BUT HOW?) Recipients can then download the photos from the email message and print them, use them in their own projects, and so on."
    How do I attach these files when sending an email of photos using iPhoto? (I don't want to use AppleMail, I know how to do it in AppleMail) When I click to Share my photos via email in iPhoto, I do not see any option rbutton to add files to make the photos easily downloadable for the recipient.  Anyone know how to do this?  Thanks!

    Not sure why you can't deselect the option, but I would guess that yes, the files are being attached.
    Who are you sending to? iPhoto sends HTML emails and not every application on Windows or Mac knows how to deal with them, for instance, nor every user.

  • How do I attach a file to a Mail doc without the file being opened in the Mail document?

    How do I attach a file to a Mail doc without the file being opened in the Mail document?

    You will (often) see a preview of the attachment, depending upon the file type.  To get rid of the preview: control click on the attachment select "View as icon".
    (What the recipient of your message sees is dictated by that person's email application.  If you want to make sure the person gets an attachement which is not previewed, you can zip it (control-click, "Compress...") and then attach the zipped file(s).  Or you can try something like Attachment Tamer.)

    how do i attach a file to an email as an attachment and not embeded in the message?

    This question has been asked and answered several times already.
    Any file attached to an e-mail message is an attachment. There is no other possibility -- the mail protocol does not allow it.
    However, different e-mail clients may have different ways of displaying or viewing attachments, depending on their settings and the type of file attached.

  • How do I attach a file to an existing email?

    On the ipad 3 or any ipad, how do you attach a file to an existing email?

    @ adobe-admin (J.C.?):
    Thanks for fixing the "backslash" error. Accuracy is important, and doubly so when presented as an F.A.Q.
    The sad thing is how prevalent the usage of "backslash" is when a plain old slash is meant (generally, the "forward" attribute is assumed and unneeded), and by people who should know better. It's a direct result of people knowing just barely enough about the Windows file path naming protocols, and then applying the only terminology they're familiar with incorrectly to URLs.
    I went about 10 rounds—TWICE!—with a labyrinthian succession of people at the Discovery & History cable TV networks because they were saying "backslash" in voice overs whenever their commercials promoted their websites. It took some doing, but I finally got in touch with somebody who was savvy enough to recognize that it was a rookie mistake made by a clueless marketing copywriter. The voice over person just read the copy they were given, oblivious to the difference. It amazes me that it wasn't caught by somebody early in the recording/production process and rectified.
    They then had it correct for about a year, until new commercials started popping up with the same error. Unfortunately, the person I had talked to previously no longer worked for the History channel and I had to go through the process of finding someone who understood all over again.
    Yeah, you can call me a nitpicker with nothing better to do.
    But I've earned that dang badge, and I wear it proudly!

    You really have to explain a little bit more what you want to do.  I do not understand the concept of attaching a file to an application.

  • Mii attach multiple files in one e-mail

    Hello everyone
    This is Yuko.
    There are two MII may have a problem with email attachments.
    1. Once you attach multiple files in one e-mail
    Please tell me how this
    2. Can not be above 1, and compiled into a single ZIP file.
    Now, I can attach multiple files in one e-mail,
    When you extract the ZIP, just made away with the file directory path is created,
    you can not open the attachment and open the folder several times.
    Anyone know a solution to this problem, please tell me.

    Kevin, Thanks for answers.
    My English is poor. Sorry.
    Your answer is, we assume that the permit issue, and probably would not matter. Again, write the points in need.
    For example, the two CSV when put together in one ZIP file, the workbench in the CSV file to specify the full path. CSV file, the workbench under the Web folder and then five in the second tier. At this time, who received an email with this attachment is to open the attachments, ZIP and open the file, open the following folder hierarchy, the next ..., and, many times to open the folder , will finally open a CSV file. Many times without opening the folder you want to open a CSV file.
    We look forward advice.

  • Attaching a file to an E-Mail you are replying to?...

    Why has Apple still not added the feature to let you attach a file to an E-Mail you are replying to? Do you know how frustrating it is to have to go to the pic folder and send it thru there, copying and pasting peoples E-Mail address's who are not in your address book? This is a feature that any other phone has and has had for years, Apple get with it already! This is riduculous!

    For photos, go to the camera roll and go to the sort of gallery view where you can see all of yorur pictures. Find the one you want and press and hold on the thumbnail. A little coppy button should appear above the photo. Tap that and then go back to your email and press and hold until you see a similar menu. Tap paste. Unfortunately, you have to do this one image at a time so it is tedious to email multiple photos in a reply. But it is possible.

  • How do you have a file automatically open in mail, like a Constant Contact email?

    How do you have a file automatically open in mail, like a Constant Contact email?
    Thanks,
    Lauren

    If there is a way to automatically open an attached file in a Mail item, it is not one that I would use, because I want to stay in control of my Mac!  Who is it from, whats in it and so on... To me bad idea but then the choice is yours.

  • Can't attach .jpg files to my e-mail messages

    I have tried to attach .jpg files to my e-mail messages but nothing happens. I have no trouble attaching .doc files. I have never had this problem before buying this MacBook a few weeks ago, and I can't figure out what to do about it. Does anyone know how to rectify this? Thanks.

    I have tried to attach it by clicking on "browse," finding the correct .jpg file and then clicking on "add." The .jpg never is added to the message. I never had trouble with adding .jpgs this way on my old iBook and I don't have trouble adding .jpgs on my G-5 at work. As I said, I can add .doc Word documents on the new MacBook, so I really don't understand what the problem is. The .jpgs files are about 1 MB in size, so it's not like I'm trying to add a gigantic file.

  • How to transfer an xml file to NW Portal Knowledge Management from XI?

    Hi all,
    Anybody knows how to transfer an xml file to NW Portal Knowledge Management from XI?
    What kind of adapter type I have to choose? And which procedures I have to do in KM Portal? Create a folder, what kind of folder and permissions?
    Suggestions and ideas are appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ricardo.

    Hi
    Can anyone tell me how XI sends messages to applications like J2EE. In REceiver comm channel, I think we specify about the target system like J2EE appl.
    Aadapter Type: HTTP
                   Receiver
    Transport Protocol:  HTTP1.0
    Message Protocol:    XI payload in HTTP body
    Adapter Engine:      Integration Server
    Addressing Type:     URL address
    Target host:         localhost
    Service Number:      7001(Port number of Weblogic appl server--where my J2EE appl is deployed).
    Path     :  /Invoke/DisplayRes/
    Authentication Type:Use Logon Data for SAP System
    Content Type: text/xml
    Username:   xiappluser
    password:   xx
    XML code:   UTF-8
    I suppose XI sends msgs to http://localhost:7001/Invoke/DisplayRes/........
    in this example if am correct?
    Then I have given all tyhe necessary setting but my servlet is not able to display XML msg in browser?
    This is my servlet code:
    public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException
         PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
         BufferedReader brin =new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(request.getInputStream()));
         String inputLine;
         StringBuffer sBuf = new StringBuffer();
            response.setContentType("text/xml");
         while ((inputLine = brin.readLine()) != null)
             sBuf.append(inputLine);
             out.println("hi");
                out.println(sBuf.toString());
             brin.close();
             out.flush();
    What went wrong?
    Help me, all helpful answers are highly rewarded.
    Thanks
