How do i authorize another computer if my original computer is broken?

How do i authorize another computer if my original computer is broken and no longer works???????

You can authorise your account via the Store > Authorise This Computer menu option - if you are using a PC with iTunes 11 on and the menus aren't showing then control-B should get them to show

For a computer running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.
For a computer running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • I share computer with wife.  We each have a nook.  how do i authorize each of us on one computer?

I need to authorize 2 users on same shared computer (separate win 7 signons) for 2 Nooks.  How can I do this?
    thanks

ADE stores the authorization on a per OS user basis, so as long as there are two seperate OS user, this will work.
I would suggest narrowing down the problem by getting one nook to work with one account.
Assuming you start with your wife's account:
Start with making sure ADE is authorized to the correct account for the OS user (you can check this in the Library menu -> Authorize Computer),
If it's not then you can deactivate ADE by using Ctrl (Cmd on Mac) Shift D, and then relaunch with the correct AdobeID.
Make sure you can view content.
Then make sure you can copy content your wife's nook.
The make sure your wife's nook can view the content.
If you can't then you may need to deactivate and reactivate the nook, using Ctrl (Cmd on Mac) Shift E
After that's working, and only after that's working, log out of the OS user, log in with your ID and lather/rinse repeat with your nook.
Afer you are finished with your account - then go back and double check that your wifes account/ADE/Nook are all still working and you should still be good to go.
p.s. Your problem with #1 is expected if you already have different ADE IDs that you have content authorized to, and you've copied the wrong content to the wrong nook.
pps - Just to make sure - content purchased from B&N does not work in ADE 1.7.2 you will need to use either:
    - Nook for Mac/PC
    - NookStudy for Mac/PC
    or
    - ADE 1.8.2 (currently in public beta at labs.adobe.com)

  • How can I delete or transfer some (not all) Albums, Music and pics in "Photo Library" NOT purchased in iStore from my iPhone to a computer, when the original computer that did the original iTunes to iPhone synch is no longer available (stolen)?

The iPhone iOS 4 User Guide sees to indicate that the SYNCH function is all one way from computer to iPhone, unless it is for purchased items in iStore on the iPhone.
    1. How can I delete some (not all) Albums and Music from my iPhone when the original computer that did the iTunes to iPhone synch is no longer available (stolen)?
    2. How can I transfer Albums and Music (not purchased from iStore on iPhone) from my iPhone to the new computer?
    3. How can I delete some (not all) pictures in my iPhone "Photo Library"  when the original computer that did the iTunes to iPhone synch is no longer available (stolen)?
    4. How can I transfer pictures in my iPhone "Photo Library" to the new computer?

    Hi wjosten,
thanks for the "TouchCopy" software link. I have downloaded a demo copy and it will resolve my transfer of music from iPhone to the new computer. I can then delete any unwanted music on the new computer, then re-synch the updated music to iPhone.
I am not sure about the photos.   On my iPhone, there are two photo "albums" - one called "camera roll" and the other called "photo library."  TouchCopy finds the pictures in the "camera roll" DCIM folder, and I can copy them to the new computer etc.
However, TouchCopy does not seem to find the "Photo Library" folder.  Any clues?

  • HT1727 How do I authorize another computer?

I am asked by i-tunes store to authorize the computer I am using, which is my laptop, not my PC tower.  I have purchased music and it has downloaded but I cannot get it on my PC laptop because "you must authorize this computer".  I have 2 computers, the PC desktop which I have used for years with I-tunes, and now I have a laptop, too, and do not know how to "authorize this computer".  Thanks.  I have an I-Pad, I-phone, and am rapidly becoming an Apple addict, but still don't have the Mac.

  • How does one authorize another computer to play previously purchased music?

I have recently downloaded a ITunes software on a new computer. I would like to authorize the computer to listen to previously purchased music.
My understanding is that we can share music on Itunes on up to five computers.
I woud appreciate if someone could share a document on how to authorize mulitple computer to a single account.

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • How do I authorize another iphone to use my itunes library account

I purchased an iphone for my daughter and wish to authorize it as a user on my account.  How do i do this even if she has her own apple id

What exactly are you wanting to do ? You only need to authorise your account on a computer's iTunes (Store > Authorise This Computer menu option), iOS devices aren't authorised.
If you/she will want to redownload some of your purchases on her phone (or the computer's iTunes that it will be synced to) then that might tie her phone (or computer) to your account for 90 days : iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID

  • How do you add another account onto the same computer that  has itunes?

I want to add another account to my already existing account so that my dad can have his own music on the same computer with mine. can i do that? or should i just move all of my stuff to an another computer and just let him have the old one? i know this prolly sounds confusing but someone please tell me if i can do this!

See if this helps: Using Windows XP User Accounts
Creating a separate Windows User account for each person on your PC will give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one.
