are you saying that your computer is autharized from guessing, or do you know it is becuase it says it. in itunes, go to the advanced tab and the last option in that tab should be either aurhorize, or de-authorize. What does it say?

Not to long ago my computer Hard Drive died, and I got a new one and set my computer up to run. I installed Itunes and recently got a update for my iPhone to 5.0. This took my Music and Apps off my phone. I put my Music back on the phone with no problem, but when I went to place the Apps back on my phone, It told me my computer was not athorized to put it on and told me how to athorize it. I went and athuroized it and it told me it was already athorized. So I went to try agian and still will not put the Apps on my phone. What do I do?

I cannot play any of my previously purchased iTunes songs/albums on my iPhone 5. The songs are listed as downloaded, but when I go to play them, the 'play' screen appears for about 2 seconds, and then disappears. I have followed all the steps I can find online. My phone is syncing with iCloud these days. Please help if you can!
Welcome to the forums.
This hasn't yet been reported but the fact that it's only songs you purchased that plays is suspicious. What is the format of the other music? (Go into iTunes and select one and press Ctrl-I and report on what it says there). -
HT201272 Can't sync previously purchased iTune music & unavailable to re-download
Hello everyone!
Here's my problem: I got a new computer, transferred all iTune files to new computer using flash drive & authorized new computer for my apple id. I am still unable to sync my previous iTune purchases to my ipod & itouch. My 100+ iTune songs error out, saying "unable to sync, cannot locate original file". I checked help info & it says to download again from "Purchased" list in iTunes Store. No "iCloud logos appeared in my list so I downloaded most recent iTunes update including iCloud & tried again. No success. Researched further and found if shows as "downloaded" it is unavailable. All of my songs are listed as unavailable even the ones I purchased last week. Does anybody have any idea what I could be doing wrong or how to fix it? I am totally frustrated and out of ideas and my teenage daughter is not a happy camper either. I;d appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks! This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .
BTW iTunes won't offer your past purchases to you if there is a current entry in the library, even if that entry is to a missing file...

Can't access previously purchased iTunes music ='(
So here's the problem:
So about five years ago or so my computer that held all of my files crashed. And I know, it's my fault for not storing them elsewhere =(
Now I don't expect Apple to help me get all the mucic I lost, but all I want downloaded to my new computer are all the songs, apps, etc. that I had purchased over the years, since I know they keep track of all that. Now you may wonder, "Why don't you just sync your iPod to your new computer and problem solved!"
Well... that would work....except for the fact that some buttholes broke into my car and stole my iPod touch, the last storage item that held my music. I know I can't recover the music that I had burned into it, but I have been hoping that Apple could go ahead and allow me to download the music that I have bought to my new computer and new iPod. So far, I haven't found a way to do this. So will I have to call Apple about this? It doesn't seem fair for me to have to buy music that I already 'technically' own. Any way to do this? ThanksYou can redownload those purchased music from your new iTunes.
Go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free -

Hi!
I just got my new Macbook today (!!!) and I love it, but I can't figure out how to authorize this computer to play my purchased itunes music. I don't have any other computers authorized to play my purchased music, as I have de-authorized my previous computer. How do I authorize this new one? I know the FAQ section says to go to Store > Authorize computer, but I can't seem to find where this is located? I've never owned a Mac before.Silly me... I didn't realize that the top of the screen changes as you change windows (unlike windows computers). Thank you so much for the help. I really appreciate it!

I try to play the Itunes song I purchased. I have a new computer, another internet provider since I purchased the songs, and have switched to a new internet browser Internet Explorer 8. I keep getting a dialog box saying "this computer is not authorized to play the song. would you like to authorize it?
An old Apple ID popps up and I am asked for the old passwork which I no longer remember. I successfully changed to a new Apple ID and password.
when I enter that, a new dialog box appears, saying "this computer is already authorized." When I try to play the song the first box appears again,
I I go round over and over, with no success playing my songs. Can anybody out their resolve this? Thanks for any helpWere these songs purchased using another account?
" I opened a new iTunes account and copied the files to the new account. "
Do you mean to a new library?
Account is a user neame and password with which you purchase content.
A library is your collection of media.
