I tried to transfer the downloaded copy of a book from my laptop to the Kobo, with having to use ADE but it hasn't worked. So, back to ADE - which doesn't show the Kobo. I've tried restarting the laptop and then opening ADE but that didn't make any difference. I also tried to authorize the Kobo using ADE but all I get is a message saying my pc (laptop) is already authorized but I don't see any options to authorize another device. I changed my Kobo login details to match my ADE login but that hasn't made any difference either - this was advised in a post I found on the forum.
    There is mention of being able to authorize other devices using a combination of Fkeys but it's nto desribed anywhere and I'm not sure if this will work anyway on my laptop as it uses the horrid Windows 8 OS. I'm feel ing stumped and frustrated and my brain hurts. Any help and suggestions will be very, very gratefully received.
    I should add that I've tried looking at help topics on the Adobe site too but there are no options or alternatives given to help with any ereaders no being recognized or shown on ADE.

  • Kobo eReader Authorization Issue

    I received a Kobo eReader for Christmas, and I love it.....except that I can't see ebooks checked out of the library. I can see them on my PC, but not on the eReader.
    I have done the following:
    uninstalled ADE
    reset my Kobo eReader to factory settings
    reinstalled ADE
    authorized both my PC and Kobo eReader
    reloaded my eBook library onto my Kobo eReader
    waited 24 hours, as suggested in previous forum posts
    I am still not able to read the library ebook on my Kobo eReader.
    Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

    I am having a similar problem.  I can get the books onto my reader, but it puts it on the reader, and not my memory card, and replaces the existing books on my reader.  If you find a soltution let me know.

    My computer had a virus so everything was reinstalled.  I am now trying to get my Kobo eReader authorized with Adobe but when I go to authorize my computer in Adobe it keeps telling me that I can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computer or mobile device.  I am not very good with computers.  What do I do now?

    i have a kobo ereader but when i download a book from my local library it won't open on my ereader. it says adobe is not authorized. what do i do?

    If you haven't got an Adobe ID, get one (free) from the Adobe website.  Try to login, and one option will be 'no userid, get a new one' or similar.
    Remove any previous registration first: ctrl-shift-D to ADE  (Digital Editions), and restart ADE.
    Now register ADE with your Adobe ID.  menu/Library/Authorize Computer.
    You then need to pass that ID onto the kobo; while it is plugged in and ADE is running, menu/library/Authorize device.
    Then it should all work.
    May not work with the book you have already tried it with.
    If not, borrow another book and try with that.
    If the first one doesn't work and the second does, you won't be able to return the first one, you'll just have to wait for the loan to expire.

    iTunes Store- Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC.
    In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.

    Tigon's already got you covered here. But I'll chime in with some English localisation advice.
    There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
    The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
    If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
    Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
    Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

    I do not get an error, I do not even get the authorization dialog. I have sent 2 screen shots, they are attached.
    When I try to play an iTunes store purchase, a bubble pops up and states that this computer is not authorized. It does not pop up account name or password. I have also completed everything stated in the http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389  link.
    This is very frustrating.

    As you said, the authorizations for the WAD templates should be given in PFCG roles.
    But you have to include the access/authorization details in the authorization objects. WAD templates have been created with including info/multiprovider, info cubes right.. first you have to include these objects inside the Role in PFCG.
    S_RS_COMP,S_RS_COMP1,S_RS_MPRO,S_RS_ICUBE.
    just assigning WAD template in the menu of the roles is to display when you login with the userid.
    Please request your BASIS folks to do the same.
