How do I authorize my new computer when I'm not getting a prompt to authorize?

I'm trying to authorize my new computer, however I'm not being prompted with a tab to authorize! Also I need to deactivate my old computer. How do I do these?

Log into iTunes Store on your old computer. Select De-authorize This Computer from the Store menu.
Log into iTunes Store on your new computer. Select Authorize This Computer from the Store menu.
About De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
  1. Open iTunes on a computer
  2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
  3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
  4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
  5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
Also, see iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.

  • How can I authorize a new computer when my iMac account has changed?

For several years, my iTunes account was listed under my former email address. I now have a different computer and I am using my iMac address for my account, When I attempt to play tunes that I purchased and downloaded under the former account, I get a message that says I must authorize this computer. If I try to authorize the new computer using the old account, I get a message that account no longer exists (which is true). If I try to authorize using the new account, I get a message telling me this computer is already authorized (also true). But it still won't let me play songs authorized under the old account! Any suggestions????

Press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

  • I am trying to authorize a new computer.  I can not fine the authorize option once I open Itunes

I am trying to authorize a new computer.  i have opened iTunes.  I only see a link for the apps store.  Where do I find the Stgore/Authorize button?

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • How to download already purchased Photoshop Essentials on a new computer when I do not have serial number

I have purchased a new computer and need to download Photoshop Essentials which I purchased earlier but do not now have the serial number (my hard disk crashed and I did not save the info).  Thanks for your help.

You should be able to find the serial number for the software thru your Adobe account online.  I am not familiar with the name Photoshop Essentials so I am not sure if there is such a program available to download.  Do you happen to mean Photoshop Elements?  If so, available downloads can be found at...
    PSE 10, 11 - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-10-11-downloads.html
    PSE 7, 8, 9 - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-7-8-9-downloads.html
If you are unable to find your serial number, your only hope will be to contact Adobe Support by chat or phone to see if they can provide it to you.  THey might not be able to if you are unable to prove you purchased the software.

My computer's harddrive crashed and i purchased a new computer but i have itunes on the limit of 5 computers now and cannot deauthorize the broken computer

You should be able to de-authorise all of your computers via your account (which you can do once every 12 months), and you can then re-authorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and de-authorising

  • I have a new computer. I can not get Firefox to auto-login to any sites. How can I make it so that this new computer functions like every other one I've seen...e.g., it actually remembers what I ask it to?

Cookies are enabled. Sites are checked "remember password" and "automatically log me in." I have checked "yes" to "Do you want firefox to remember the password for this site?" Some sites do auto-fill my username or password, but I still have to go through the process of approving, checking, and clicking, every single time. One example is yahoo mail...but it happens everywhere. It's like every time I access Firefox, it doesn't remember anything.

    * Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
    * You must allow that cookie (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions), especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes

  • How do I authorize a new computer to my account when all of the other devices have been destroyed?

I have lost all of my original authorized devices and am trying to install and use a new pc. I can get access to my account, but can not seem to authorize the device. How doI go about this?
    Thank you
    David

Apple allows you a deauthorize all option once every 12 months.
iTunes Store: Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC
    Deauthorize all computers
After you authorize two computers, you'll have the option to deauthorize all computers for your Apple ID. You can deauthorize all computers once a year.
Just like deauthorizing a single computer, you won’t delete anything if you choose to deauthorize all computers. You just won’t be able to play content that you bought from iTunes on those computers. After you deauthorize all, you can easily authorize computers again one by one. Just follow the steps to authorize a Mac or PC.
Here's when you should deauthorize all your computers:
If a computer doesn't work anymore
If you don't have one of your computers
If you used 5 authorizations and want to authorize a new computer
To deauthorize all your computers, follow these steps using one of your authorized computers:
1.Click to open your account in iTunes (you may need to sign in with your Apple ID), or follow these steps:
         a. Open iTunes and click iTunes Store.
         b. Click Sign In and enter your Apple ID.
         b. Click your Apple ID and select Account.
    2. Click Deauthorize All.
The Deauthorize All button appears only if you have more than two authorized computers.

I recently got a new computer. My previous computer has iTunes but is no longer able to access the internet. I was able to get my music library from my original computer to the new one.
