How do I back up emails from an old iPhone

I purchased a new iPhone a couple days ago and realized there are important emails only located on my old iPhone. I need to back it up iCloud but have not had any luck. Do I need a sims card in it? Any suggestions?

Your email should be stored on your email provider's server.  If this is an iCloud email account, for example, they would be stored on the iCloud email server, and can be viewd on icloud.com.
They should also appear on your new phone when you sign into the account.
The only exception would be if you are using an older POP/POP3 account, and the these older emails are no longer on your provider's server.  If that's the case, and the email is only on your older phone, I'm not sure how you would be able to extract them from your old phone.  Perhaps your carrier could temporarily switch your service back to your old phone, allowing you to forward these emails from your old phone to another account, then switch your service back to your new phone.
