How Do I Back-up Song Files after Burning Them to iTunes?

I'm in the process of burning copies of all my CDs into iTunes, and when I'm done I want to get rid of some of the CDs. However, I'd like to be able to back-up copies of the good songs onto some blank CDs in case in case I ever lose my hard drive.
What I'm not sure about is whether I can do this by burning these songs onto a CD as "data" files or does it have to be a "music" backup? If I burn them as "data" I can fit MANY more onto a CD, but is it possible to restore these files into a playable mp3 format from a "data" file, should I ever lose my hard drive?

Well the other 2 options in iTUnes besides "Audio CD" are data and mp3 CD. If you do a MP3 cd it will only burn MP3s no AAC files (Which is the format bought songs from itunes are in) so doing a data CD will fit your needs better. when you burn a data CD, you can burn all the formats onto the CD, the CD will basicly be a harddrive now with a backup of your songs and anyother files you put on it.
You can find out how to back up here http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/musicstore/backup/

  • How can i back up my filse after factory reset?

yes, just want to know how to back up my files after i accidently factory reset my computer?
and also i can not video chat with my friend on facebook, it get stuck, like not enough signal but it's work with my other computer in the same place and same times.

If you did a factory reset, you have pretty much "wiped" out everything, all settings, files, etc...
You may be able to recover some data with something like DiskWarrior, but a full version is not cheap, nor is a data recvery service.
You should have backed up everything BEFORE wiping the drive.
Maybe some here may have some suggestions for you.

A erase of the drive or boot partition is not always necessary.
Flashing question mark at boot could be a easy fix, sometimes it's the firmware that simply forgot what bootable volume to boot from.
Try holding the Option key down while booting the machine, a choice of bootable options appears, select your OS X and boot up.
When you get in, head to System Preferences > Startup disk and set it again new. This will tell the firmware what to boot from. Test it to see.
Now if you don't have a selection of bootable options, it could be that the drive is dead, or OS X is erased or corrupted so it can't boot.
You'll have to run through this list of fixes to see what's going on, if you need a hardware fix or what, I've also included links if you can't fix it and need to recover your data etc.
(If it's not remmebering your boot selection then also run through the list to reset things.)

  • How do I find duplicate songs/files in iTunes 11?

How do I find duplicate songs/files in iTunes 11?
Earlier versions of iTunes had a simple menu option to click on.
All duplicates would then be listed. Cannot find this option now.
    Regards ..... blayk.

If you want to free up your memory, maybe first checking to see if you got duplicates. -
From the File menu in iTunes, choose Show Duplicates. iTunes will then list all of the duplicate titles in your library.
If you delete a music in the iTunes folder, then when you try to play that particular music in your iTunes, it won't work as iTunes wouldn't be able to find it. However, when you import music on to your computer, always import straight into your iTunes, no where else.

  • How do I convert AIFF song files in iTunes to ACC files to fit iPod?

How do I convert AIFF song files in iTunes to ACC files to fit iPod? My AIFF files are appartently bigger per song than ACC files. How do I convert an AIFF song or playlist in iTunes to ACC files so they take up less room. Right now I can only fit 50 songs as opposed to 500 songs. The songs are already in iTunes as AIFF files. Most of the songs I inport are original songs from CD's that are already AIFF files. How do I convert them when going into my iPod?
    g-5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   iPod Nano

Thank you so much! I now know how to convert AIFF audio files to ACC files, and I can keep the original AIFF file! One other concern though -- how do I tell which is the bigger AIFF file and which is the new smaller ACC file? iTunes doesn't have an obvious place/window that tells me the audio file size. Is there a way to tell the two apart. It looks like it creates an identical file name, not even a "copy" extension or anything -- so it's impossible to tell them apart. Is there another secret here?

  • How to revert back previous working files in InDesign CS6?

I have suddenly replace wrong working files, how to revert back previous working files in InDesign CS 6?
    OS Mac version: 10.10.3
    InDesign CS6 version

This feature does not exist in InDesign. You're best hope is that you have a backup of the previous file. Moving forward, you might want to try a free product called Radish that allows you to save versions and revert back to previous versions when needed. Here's a blog post I wrote about the product Story Versioning in InCopy | InCopySecrets.

Removing your hard drive and putting it into a 2.5 inch SATA external case would allow you to connect your drive to another computer and access your files.

  • How can I back up my files during a Kernel Panic?

Hello, I am new to these forums.
Okay, so last week I updated my Macbook Pro like I normally do (I'm assuming it was 10.5.7), but then when I restarted my macbook I saw the apple logo and then the screen turned grey and a bunch of numbers and letters filled the screen (which I now know is a Kernel Panic or something).
I am unable to login at all or even see the log-in screen, all I can get to is the apple logo when I first turn on the computer. I plan on making an appointment at my local apple store, but they told me to back up any files I didn't want to lose.
    So my question is...
How can i back up my files during a Kernel Panic if I can't even log in?
I have my original disks from when I got my macbook pro if that's any help?
Should I just tell my local apple store that I need help backing up my files?
    or am I screwed?
    Thanks for any help

Well, when I turn it on a box appears over the apple logo and says something like "please restart your machine or hold the power button for 7 seconds".
and the numbers and letters appear random to someone like me but I'm sure it says something to someone who knows about it. At the very beginning of the "random" numbers and letter it says something about kernel and panic and I googled some of the message and it kept leading me to other people who said it was a kernel panic.
Also I tried to start it while holding shift and it never goes to single user mode it just does the same thing as if I never pushed or held shift. I'll try the whole firewire thing if I can figure it out, but I don't have another mac so I'd have to do it with a PC.
Edit: Also I did one of those hardware tests using the osx dvd and the short test said i have an error (and when i googled that error it brought me to people with kernel panics) but when I did the extended test that took about an hour and a half it came back saying everything was fine.

How to reduce the size of file after delete some datas?

    Hi,
What BDB release are you using? If it's one of the latest releases, then what you are looking for is the DB->compact() method:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17076_01/html/api_reference/C/dbcompact.html
The DB->compact() method compacts Btree, Hash, and Recno access method databases, and optionally returns unused Btree, Hash or Recno database pages to the underlying filesystem. Please let me know if it helps.

    Hello
How do I back up my files from an intel core duo imac to an external hard drive?

Like you do with any other Mac*:

Note: if you have a CoreDuo, you can only upgrade up to 10.6.8.  Only Core2Duos and higher can go to 10.7 (Lion).

  • I know it must be simple, but how do I back-up my files to iCloud ?

How do I back up my files and folders to iCloud, or does iCloud does it automatically by default ?

iCloud Drive is not meant as a backup storage. Its purpose is to keep documents updated across all your devices and stored in one place.  If you change a document on one device it will be updated across all devices, if you store the document on iCloud Drive.

Trying to download photos from IPHONE, IPAD to IPHOTO in IMAC after installing new hard drive.
How did you import the photos to iPad and iPhone?
If the photos have been synced to the iPhone and iPad using iTunes, you cannot sync them back.
    See this document:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures in the Camera Roll or Saved Photos from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device:
If your photos are not in the Camera Roll on your devices, save them to the Camera Roll, share them to the Photo Stream, mail the photos, or, if you have iPhoto on the devices, use iTunes Photo Sharing.
    http://help.apple.com/iphoto/iphone/2.0/?handbuch#blnkee26bc1
Save photos to your computer using iTunes
Connect your iOS device to your computer.
Tap a photo, album, event, web journal, or slideshow and tap Share> iTunes.
Tap Selected, or change the photos you want to save (if you are saving a slideshow skip to step 4):
Select different photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap one or more photos, and tap Next.
Select a range of photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap Range, tap the first and last photos in the range, and tap Next.
Select all the photos in an album or event: Tap All.
In iTunes, click the button for your device and click Apps at the top of the window.
Below File Sharing, select iPhoto (in Apps).
Select the Shared Photos folder under iPhoto Documents.
Click Save To and select the location on your computer where you want to save the items.
To view your photos, go to the Finder and look in the location you selected above.
