HOW DO I BACK UP WINDOWS 7 TO TIMECAPULE

We just got a MAC and we purchased a time capsule.  We have an old desktop PC and a laptop both windows based one XP and one Windows 7 that I would like to back up to my Time Capsule.  How do I do that?

Macrium Reflect is a popular choice for things like this.....likely because it is free. Worth a look.

A deluxe solution would be something like Genie Timeline Pro.

  • How to get back old windows view on photoshop cc?

    Hey all,
It seems like somebody else must have asked this question at some point... but here it is again, because I can't find the answer! The old PS windows view was exactly what I needed. (the option for one or multiple views of the same file in different non-floating windows, located in the center menu bar. Mine is in 5.1.) It isn't there in PS CC (in the default view or any other that I can find, anyway.) I really need to have this so that I can display and compare several slightly different working versions of the same file side by side, one on top of the other, etc. This is also the easiest and most straightforward way to easily drag content from one comp to another, IMHO, but that's not the biggest issue. Being forced to work with floating windows as the only option is just not something I'm willing to do. It's almost getting to the point where this is the biggest single issue that would keep me from moving to CC.
Is there any way of bringing back this old windows view option? It's hard to believe that there wouldn't be-- I can't be the only one who needs this for the best workflow-- but who knows... All thoughts and info appreciated.

    Look under Window>Arrange.
The Application Bar was removed starting in cs6, but all the same stuff should be under Window>Arrange

ps Just FYI, one of my machines crashed during Windows 8.1 upgrade and I had to rebuild it from Windows 7 (I upgraded it to Windows 8 and the Windows 8 upgrade DVD won't install w/o Windows 7). I won't touch to other two unless in few months times MS releases few "holes".

  • Can I roll back from Windows 8.1 to Windows 8?

I have a surface Pro that I use for testing. I installed the 8.1 update. Unfortunately I wasn't paying full attention when it came to the point of asking if I wanted to save my personal files or nothing. I didn't notice that there wasn't a choice to save"everything
    (programs)."
There's still the folder Windows.old on the C: drive and I can see all of my Program files there. My original docs are fine. I can't seem to figure out how to roll back to the original Windows 8. I tried running the 8.1 installer and system restore
    but no joy.
Any suggestions on how to get back to Windows 8 or to bring my programs back? It's not the end of the world but just a PIA to have to reinstall all of my apps on the Surface. Thanks.

    Hi,
Please be aware that programs should be reinstalled from their installers. It will install the necessary runtime files to run properly on your operating system.
We can retrieve files from Windows.old folder:

If you would like to get back to Windows 8, we cannot uninstall or restore directly.
For preinstalled Windows 8, you can try to restore factory settings to get it back.
    Hope these could be helpful.

This will tell you everything you need to know about the iPhone backup, including where that backup is stored on your computer:

The iPhone backup is not viewable. To see/extract the contents requires third-party software, like this:

It sounds like you destroyed your boot partition and the recovery partition.  Depending on it's age, your MacBook Air might be able to do a net boot.  Plug and ethernet connection into it and attempt to boot.  If it has the right firmware, it will find a net boot configuration on the net and boot that.  Then it will give you a Recovery Partition like display and allow you to reinstall the OS X version that came with it.... assuming that it was Lion or ML.  If your computer came with Snow Leopard, then even the net boot won't work.
At that point you need a bootable USB Key, or an external DVD drive AND a Snow Leopard installation DVD.
An Apple Store, if there is one nearby, MAY be able to get you going again.  However, whatever is on the SSD now will be toast too.

  • How do I back up contents of apps such as notes and office docs on my PC so that in the event of my ipad failing I can use these docs on my PC (windows op system)

How do I back up the contents of apps such as notes and office docs on my ipad to my PC ( windows op system) so I can use them on PC if my ipad fails?

You can use File Sharing in order to transfer the Word documents and the notes depending upon what apps you are using. Take a look at this.
iOS: About File Sharing - Support - Apple
There are file transfering apps like this one.
File Manager - Folder Plus on the App Store on iTunes
You can always email files as a last resort type of thing. That may not be practical depending upon the number of files that you have.

  • Re-setting email client back to Windows Mail versus Office Outlook on installing the latter: how do I do this?

I recently installed MS Office and of course Outlook was installed too. Previously, I've been able to send a link from Firefox by clicking on the option under File and Windows Mail (my preference) would load with the link embedded in the email I was to send. Now it insists that Office Outlook loads. How do I re-set it back to Windows Mail? Thank you.

  • After I've switched back to mac (from windows on the mac) will it allow me to go back to windows? if so how?

i have installed windows onto my mac and know how to get back o mac after that, but will it let me go back to windows after selecting mac?

If you just changed the startup disk setting, use the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences or restart with the Option key held down.
If you removed the Boot Camp partition, you'll need to create a new one first.
