How do I backup saved Passwords?

I can no longer save my saved passwords as an xml file.

These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.
These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your
Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more.
In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild
your saved files individually into installable .xpi files.
It will also make backup of files that you choose.

One last thing. In the event that the passwords information is lost, you
should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else
on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if
you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking
at that file, you can compress it using a password.

  • How do I use "saved passwords" to access a site?

I have a list of saved passwords in firefox. So what steps do I use to access the site. If I click on the saved password entry nothing happens? I want to use firefox saved passwords software. I used to use Roboform where I had a list of logins and just clicked on the entry and the username/password was entered automatically. Can firefox do this, too? If so tell me how to do it? Where's the list of logins in firefox that I can click on and have the username & password filled in from the saved list? My windows XP/pro died so I had to transfer data to Win7. Some of my Roboform data was lost so I am starting over and want to use Firefox software for username/password to access sites similar to the way Roboform works? Tell me how?

  • How to see the saved password in safari of iPad 3 ?

PLease help me how can I see the saved password in iPad 3 safari.

You can't, for obvious reasons (think of spying for another person's sensitive data). All you can do is deleting them.

  • I can't find anything that tells how to get my saved passwords and open tabs back after syncing.

I had to have my work computer restaged. I synced my FF before I turned my computer over to tech services. When I got my computer back and downloaded FF, I signed back into sync. But my saved passwords are not showing. I have all of the items listed in the sync menu checked (passwords, open tabs, bookmarks, etc). I finally fumbled around and got my bookmarks back and I am not as concerned with my open tabs as I am with my passwords. Thanks!

  • How to change a saved Password?

I mistyped a password for an account not he Internet - and saved it.  Now when I go to the sign-in page, my username and the incorrect password pop-up.  If I change the password to the correct one, it lets me sign on, but does not update the saved password.  How do I get it to do that?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
If you need to remove an incorrect saved password, you can go to Settings > Safari > Passwords & AutoFill > Saved Passwords.  There you will see a list of the passwords saved in Safari, where you can then tap Edit, and then delete a selected entry.  Next time you log in to that website, you can then save your new password.

  • How to view/modify saved passwords

It seems impossible to view or change individual saved passwords. The only way seems to delete all of them.
    Is there another way?

    Hello @Fffred,
The only way you can modify or view passwords on android firefox is through a plugin.
''"There's no option for viewing saved passwords on your mobile you have to use add-ons like https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/mobile-password-manager/ if you wish to save your password and view it in the future."''

  • How do I Edit saved passwords?

I do not want to delete any info, I can handle that but I can not seem to bring up a menu that allows me to force a change in some passwords and on a lot of sites the pop-up that asks if I wish to change info or add to saved passwords does not come up.
So is there a way to force this behavior (saving passwords) on any site I choose and is there then a way to force an Edit ?
For some reason one of the saved has been deleted or no longer shows up but that is another problem.

  • How do I restore saved passwords that disappeared after update of Firefox?

This is on an Acer laptop running Win 7 home premium

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
*Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
There is a difference between remembering the name and password in the Password Manager and a "remember me" check box on a web page to log you in automatically.
The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and that is send to the server.
If this "remember me" cookie is removed or gets corrupted or is not send to the server then the server won't remember you and you will have to sign in once again.
You can remove this "remember me" cookie to make the website forget you and require you to sign in again.
    Did you possibly reset/refresh Firefox?
When you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, form data) is automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved to the desktop to an "Old Firefox Data" folder.
Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, prefs) that you have made are lost and need to be redone.
It is possible to recover data from the old profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

  • How to clear/delete saved passwords.

I have Windows server 2008R2 AD where is about 200 computers and i would like to know is there some gpo or scripting that i could clear attleast browser saved login informations IE, Chrome and Firefox. Becours all the computers is in puplic use and there
is many times when somebody has saved facebook, hotmail ect information in the browser.

    Hi,
For IE, we can enable the following setting:
    User Configuration/Computer Configuration\ Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Delete Browsing History\Allow delete browsing history on exit
This policy setting allows the automatic deletion of specified items when the last browser window closes, the preferences in the Delete Browsing History
dialog box (such as deleting temporary Internet files, cookies, history, form data and passwords) are applied, and those items are deleted.
For third party products, it is suggested that we can ask for more help from the vendor support.
In addition, if we want to do this via scripts, in order to get better assistance, we can ask for help in the following Microsoft dedicated scripting
    forum.

You can use the Password Exporter extension to export the passwords to an XML or CSV file and print this file.

how do i export saved passwords from ff4 to chrome10

Not sure there is a direct way to export. But since you can grab the SQL statement from what you created from Query Builder, you then can use that to run in other systems, or you can create a new SQL script from it. Using SQL script allows you to export/import.
