  • How would I format my table to look like this?

Hi, I need to learn how to use tables to format the table to look like this.
    http://img695.imageshack.us/i/screenshot20100206at945.png/
I've tried messing around and watching some tutorials. but I don't really see examples of this particular type of style. Most examples I saw only has the first row and first column high lighted.
Please explain to me how to get the "objective, weighing factor, parameter" separated without bars and making the stuff underneath that tile have a certain color.
    Thank you

    figured it out haha thanks

Just downloaded and installed new LR CC.  No apparent problems with the D/I on my iMac, OS 10.10.3. however LR CC will not start.  I get a momentary flash of the opening screen and then the program  shuts down.   From the posts it looks like this if a very common problem.  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried logging out of your CC desktop app, then logging back in again? Quit/Restart won't work, but logging out and back in should. See here: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/sign-in-out-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

  • How can i edit a photo to look like this?

hey, i just started using photoshop and i recently took a lot of cute summer pictures. i would like to make them look a little more dreamy, abstrct, artsy... maybe a little vintage...
what i'm aiming at is something like this:
i know its probably really hard to make something like this, but what would be some basic tools and steps to take?
    thanks so much
    laila

Could you post a lores of one of your unedited images?
Anyway, I would assume a combination of Curves or Levels and Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layers to edit the contrast and color of an image combined with a vignetting effect (also achievable in many ways) may achieve some of the effect.
A Layer with the Filter Clouds (black/white) applied, set to Blend Mode Linear Light and with reduced Opacity may help achieve a somewhat blotchy appearance.
As for the »confetti«: like the previous poster pointed out Brushes may do that.
Randomization in the Shape Dynamics, Scattering and Color Dynamics might help there.

  • How can I create a button that looks like this?

    Hey everyone,
I'm trying to create a button in photoshop for a web project I'm working on and I found something similar to what I'm trying to do already being used online. I'm trying to get something similar to the bottom row of buttons in this image:
The bottom row of buttons uses a gradient overlay effect... but there is a small darker area in the top left corner of each of those images. It looks to be exactly the same in each image... meaning I'm guessing it's not hand drawn with something like the burn tool?
How would I go about doing something similar? What's the easiest way to reproduce the effect shown above keeping it consistant from button to button?

    One way is using layers.
Color layer on the botton so changing colors simply change color layer.
Place all your image effects on the overlying layers.

If you run Mountain Lion there is no fix.. but check the ML section of discussions as there are several issues with TM failing.

  • How do I get an image to look like this?

I have seen an image on a homepage of a shipping container website that says 50,000 containers sold blah blah. Anyway I want to be able to create a similar effect of making the image darker so that my text over the image will pop more but I don't know how to do this is Photoshop - can someone give any tips please? Would appreciate it!!!

Please post a screen shot of the graphic element(s) in question.
    ("blah blah", really?)
In general, darken the layer underneath to your taste using your tool of choice (curves, levels, exposure, whatever) and type the white text on a layer above it.
If you don't understand these very simple instructions, you need to be taught Photoshop from the ground up, and that exceeds the scope of this or any other forum.

  • Export from AVCHD looks like THIS: (image embedded) I've tried EVERYTHING

I'm using a Sony HDR-XR500V and importing using Apple Inter. Codec 1920x1080i60 in log and transfer and in "Canvas" in FCE, it looks GREAT, the motion is perfect.
However, no matter how I export (this was Export with Quicktime, uncompressed, size 1920x1080, but I've tried EVERYTHING) it looks like this. In Quicktime, I can hit "de-interlace" but it ghosts instead. I've tried de-interlace in exporting too.
In the original AVCHD files, and in Canvas on FCE, I can read the writing on everything, and I have not yet been able to export in any format where I can read the writing on the stones.
The exported files look like this on my PC as well... HELP!
PS... this was an image export from QT.

Well, as I said, it's not like that in the original AVCHD files, nor is it like that in the Canvas on FCE, so what do you mean when you say "That's the way the material is shot."?
I'm exporting my edited project to a file so I can stream it to my Sony Bravia TV in 1080.

    Hello there Keith,
I think it would be a good idea to see how a new iTunes library looks. Use this to open an alternate iTunes library:
iTunes: How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1589
IF it looks the way it is supposed to then I recommend recreating your iTunes library.
iTunes: How to re-create your iTunes library and playlists

IF on the other hand, you get the same thing with a new library, then I recommend re installing iTunes altogether.

when i open .jpg picture in photoshop on MAC the the background thumbnail in the layers panel looks like a white box with the brush inside instead of picture thumbnail. how to fix it?

Very easy. That means you have a "no layer thumbnails" option selected.
Go into the Layers Panel menu at the upper right of the Panel, choose Panel Options and you will see Thumbnail sizes to choose from.
    Select one, click OK.

  • How do I change the background in the Menu bar screen area so that it is lighter and thus more readable?

The background in the area where the Menu bar now sits is jetblack.. When I drag, say, the print icon or cut, paste, save icons to sit to the right of the menu bar, they're there but either I see them only faintly (printer) or I cna't see them only faintly. How can I change the background to a lighter color (it used to be much lighter).

The easiest way might be to install a lightweight theme (formerly known as a persona). You can "shop" for one on the Add-ons site. The following link is for solid colors, but some of the pictorial ones might work, too.
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/themes/solid
You can hover your mouse over the little image tile to see how it would look if you installed it. Can you find one that looks good to you?
Much of Firefox's interface also can be modified with style rules. However, that requires a lot more experimentation, so let's come back to that only if needed.

I can't read the black text on the dark blue background of the Bookmarks toolbar.
How do I make the background lighter or a different colour?

I think I followed all your instructions but it hasn't made any difference.

  • How do you change the background in an editable region?

I have created a template with an editable region in it.  I then created a web page based on the template and have added text to the editable region.  I would like to change the background color of just the editable region and just for this web page.  How can I do that?
    Thanks.

Well... am sure others will correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems fairly simple.
1/ There must be a tag identifying that editable area. Either a <div>, or a <table>, or whatever...
2/ Create a class in you stylesheet with the background colour you want to use and assign it to the tag
3/ Alternatively, if you'd rather use an inline style, then go to the tag in code view, right click, select style from the menu and then in the quotes right click again and select background-color. Choose your color and you're done.
If the editable area is a <div> for instance, your inline css should look like this:
    <div style="background-color:#CCCCCC"> This will give you a grey background</div>
    Cheers,
    JJ
