while a search for just about anything, brings millions of results. when you decide to select anyone of them, it will take you to a preset, based on Google having found your whereabouts. for example I live in London Ontario, my ISP is in Kitchener ONT. when I browse on Google and find where I want to go, I am automatically sent to something near me as a posed to where I want to go. it is as if they know where I am but not where I want to go? I want to stop this from happening. example GNC in the USA, I try to log on and I am diverted to GNC Canada, can't stop it.

In practicality you can't. You can set the preference in the Privacy pane of the Safari preferences to ask websites not to track you, but I don't believe Google honors that setting, and they most certainly store all sorts of cookies which you probably will get even if you set Safari to block all cookies since web programmers have ways around those blocks. All you can do is delete the cookies and other junk on a regular basis. Many cookies hide, so I use Cookie from SweetP productions which does a good job of deleting most if not all of the cruft web sites leave.

Might sound kind of silly, but you could go into Contacts, the person in question, edit, and where it says Add Field, put somthing in like STOP, or DO NOT DO THIS
At least that would get your attention, even if it doesn't block you from emailing.
There just isn't much you can do to block yourself. If you have a couple close friends, do something like an AA support group...call a friend and have them talk you out of emailing.
I'm not trying to be smart alecky about this, actually trying to help, but there isn't much to offer.

I am not very sure of the lenghth of time that it blocks the flow from the source, if it is considered as a source of DoS attack, but the workaround would be to bypass the cache for that particular source, since you are already aware that it might cause a problem. You could use a bypass rule to do so. You can also use the flow timeout feature with the flow port[1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8|9|10] timeout command to configure a flow timeout value for a TCP or UDP port. I am not very sure if this feature would help in your situation, bypass seems to be a better option.

Firstly in order to download iblacklist you are required to jailbreak your iPhone. I use google for my search engine. I do not have any reference to Yahoo in my plugins or extensions on Firefox. Every time I enter a specific URL in the Firefox box, Yahoo comes up, has the full URL I entered to go directly to. People are "texting" me on my iPad and I can't make it stop. HELP!!
I can't believe ... I'm absolutely dumb-founded ... that Apple provides no way to block harassing users. This is NOT related to a wireless/cellular carrier, this is on my wifi-only iPad.

You really have to wonder why the feature of blocking someone is not available. It would be simple to implement. Harrassing text messages, imessages, whatever you want to call them give an abuser a way to contact someone who does not want any contact. This can result in psychological damage, even in some cases suicide. If I am receiving unwanted messages from someone, I don't see why I can't just hit a button that says block. The message then can be diverted to a folder, and if I want to unblock them I should be allowed. There is not one reason I can imagine why I should not have this power. It's ridiculous and unfortunate that in this age of bullying and stalking, we aren't allowed this modicum of control over our privacy. So just when you think you have forgotten someone, or someone you love has finally removed an abusive person from their lives and moved on, all that person has to do is suddenly decide to text you day and night so that you cannot do anything but think about them. Why oh why is there no block messages from this person button as there is in virtually every social networking website? I am flabbergasted. And of course if you have a data plan and someone wants to send you spam, they can actually eat into your data usage against your will. I have to deny my family the ability to send me iMessages by completely disabling it because one nutcase won't leave me alone? Again, where is our control over our privacy? I'm frustrated over this issue, and after seeing what happened to Amanda Todd I don't see why it's not mandatory that this feature be added to every instant messaging platform. "Block User" I'm completely blown away now that I've researched this issue and I hope other people rally behind a change. How hard would it be for a 45kb update to iMessage with the ability to block users? Someday Apple is going to get sued when something terrible happens all because they refused to listen to reason. We need cotrol of our lives, and especially where teenagers are concerned. They need to be able to block unwanted attention from people who found a way into their personal lives. Go to youtube and look up Amanda Todd. It's tragic and Apple is going to do nothing about it. i happily switched to Apple 6 yrs ago, but now I get the impression that since there are more mac users , software companies like google create software that work as in windows world...
what do i mean?
i was sick of those windows times when i had "intrusion like software" that ran without being aware of... now i see it is happening in our mac world...
few months ago, google changed the way we could download and install their sw... such as Earth.. for the latest version I was forced to install the 'google installer' if i wanted to upgrade Google Earth...
but what i hate from it or what i dont like from it, is that when i see at the Activity monitor, there are 2 new friends, 'google updater' and "google sw updater".... they are always running... and sometimes they are shown in red, so it means it is not responding...
are they becoming the mac-version of spyware and malware?
how can I block these 2 new friends? i'm afraid the answer is either to uninstall Earth or get used to these 2 new friends...

My installation of Google Earth did not come with Updater, but the Google Earth Plugin for Safari did, and won't install without it. Thats when I started to see errors in my system logs (problems with backups) relating to it. The install for the Earth plugin says:

In order to keep you safer on the internet, these updates will happen automatically. If you do not wish to receive such updates, please do not proceed with the installation.
I have to confess that I did not notice this when I did the original installation. The Google Voice and Video plugin did not have this notice, and the Customize option to uncheck the Google Update install is greyed-out.
The Google Updater for Windows has configuration options that allow customization of the update process:
'Automatically update software': Silently keep your software up-to-date without any prompts or notifications. (Occasionally, an issue may need your attention, in which case you'll be notified.)
'Notify me when there are new updates': Receive update notifications. You can then choose when you'd like to install them.
'Let me check for updates myself': Don't receive any update notifcations. Your software won't be updated automatically. To see a list of available updates,click the Updates tab.
The MacOS version of Updater doesn't have these features (yet?). If you feel Mac users should have feature parity with Windows users in this regard, make your suggestions known to Google at:

BTW, somewhere along the line I got MacFUSE - a Google user-mode filesystem extension - installed. I have no idea where that came from, since it isn't mentioned as an installed component in the Google Earth plugin. More spooky behavior from the Google apps...
