I would have to agree with just saying bye to the apple mail app all together. I want to be able to control it all from one spot. I'm checking email and if I get a virus email I want to just hit block and move on not have to go sign in someone where else every time I want to block someone.
If your email provider has decent spam filters, you should never see that stuff on your iPad. I use Gmail. I probably get around 50-70 spam emails a day. Maybe one a week turns up on my iPad or my iPhone. Again, if your email provider is providing you with proper spam filtering, you should rarely have to manually mark anything as spam. If I were you, I'd definitely check with my provider.
And, just so that you're aware, there are currently no know viruses that can infect an unjailbroken iOS device.
Best of luck.

  • How to select multiple recipients in iPad mail

I have read that I can't create groups, but how to select multiple recipients in iPad mail?
I was looking for this when setting up for two new people who are going to have the iPad as their only device.. and they do need to email a bunch of people at once..
I was sending out the 'I have a new email address' BCC for them.
    Thanks.

You can select multiple contacts by tapping on the + sign in the upper right corner in the To: field when you are typing a new email. Just keep tapping the + sign and your contacts will pop up in a window. Select the contact that you want to add, repeat the process in order to add as many recipients as you want.
There are other mail apps that let you creat groups and email to those groups.

I am sure there are other, but those are two that I know of.

How can I block email addresses so they go to the trash bin automatically in my iPad?

You can't do that on the Mail App on the iPad but you can probably do this on your email server.
Check the web interface to your email service on a computer to see how to setup Spam Filters.

  • How do you filter Spam from iPad mail?

I have an iPad 2 with both POP 3 and Exchange accounts. Is there a way to block spam from showing up on my iPad?

To block spam from showing up on your iPad requires the process being done at the incoming mail server level.
The iPad's Mail app does not include a junk mail filter which would not prevent spam from showing up on your iPad if it were available.

  • How to edit email residing in iPad Mail Outbox?

I tried to send an email from my iPad, but one of the recipients was invalid, so Mail put the email in my Outbox. When I attempted to correct the invalid address, I could find no way to edit the email from the Outbox, nor could I find a way to move the email to my Drafts box for editing.
I was, however, able to move the email to my Inbox, and then work with it in Mail on my synced MacBook Pro, where I had plenty of options, but surely there must be a way to do it on the iPad?

  • How to create a hyperlink in iPad mail client?

I've been searching for ways to add hyperlinks to my e-mail messages, but can't seem to find any help. Anyone know how to do this?

By Hypertext you mean a hyperlink that is using text with the hyperlink underline rather than the http:// address itself? I don't think you can in mail, there might be a third party mail application that would allow you though.

  • How do i block a sender in mail

I am getting loads of spam mail and i cant seem to find the "block user" button. can anyone help?

Who's hosting your email account?  It would be best to do it at the server level with the host rather than the email client level (which doesn't actually solve the problem, just bandaids it).

  • How can i block senders of email

Is there a way to block a specific sender? By return address? I'm inundated with "info@" plus about a dozen numbers on a huge range of topics, none of them of interest.

In Mac mail you can set up a rule to delete the message as it comes in.
To block a sender, you have to go to the ISP/ mail service provider server.
Check the ISP/ mail service provider site or contact them.

how do I block unwanted senders in my e-mail?

    Hello:
Your ISP should (most of them do) have a capability to block senders.  The Mail application does not (as far as I know).  If you get unwanted mail, mark it junk.

  • Blocking a certain e-mail address?

Hi, this probably has been asked before ... but how do I block a certain e-mail address that keeps sending spam (always using the same address) on my mail server?
Preventing these mails to enter the mail queue would be optimal ... they seem to slow down the server enormously.
    (I'm using a RBL).
    Thanks a lot!

    1. create a file /etc/postfix/bad_senders
    2. edit the file and add the following:
    [email protected] REJECT
    3. save and issue:
    sudo postmap /etc/postfix/bad_senders
    4. edit /etc/postfix/main.cf and add
    checksenderaccess hash:/etc/postfix/bad_senders
    to:
    smtpdsenderrestrictions
    5. issue:
    sudo postfix reload

  • Blocked Senders feature in Outlook 2010 does not work

I have a specific blocked sender
[email protected] listed in my Blocked Senders list, but emails from that email
address still go to my Inbox instead of the Junk E-mail folder.
We use Exchange for email, and Outlook 2010 as the client.
Note: this sender is blocked for a specific sender that he configured through Junk E-mail Options in Outlook 2010, and this sender is not blocked at the server level.
I only have one account set up in Outlook.
What do I need to do to get Blocked Senders / Junk E-mail working in Outlook?
    Thanks,
    Elizabeth

    Hi,
From your description, I suggest you try to check the total size of blocked sender list. As total size of all lists combined cannot exceed 512K. Once the 512K limit
is reached, Outlook alerts you and additional addresses aren't saved until you remove some from the list.
If your issue is caused by the limited size, you can add a new registry key value to the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem\
Add a new DWORD value of Type Max Extended Rule Size and edit the Value Data, entering the maximum size (in bytes) you want to allow.
If your issue is not related to limited size, try to keep your junk e-mail filter updated. Each version of Microsoft Outlook that contains a junk e-mail filter receives updates to the data
file (outlfltr.dat) as part of the Microsoft-wide monthly update released on the second Tuesday of each month. The updated outlfltr.dat is the result of the evaluation of hundreds of thousands of spam messages and constantly increases the filter “catch”
    rate for incoming junk email.
The recommended way to obtain updates to the Outlook Junk E-mail filter is by turning on the Automatic Updates option in the Windows Security Center.
If you have done all above but it still not work, try to create a new outlook profile to test this issue.
Go to Start > Control Panel, click Mail. The title bar of the Mail Setup dialog box contains the name of the current profile. To select a different
existing profile, click Show Profiles, select the profile name, and then click Properties.
Click Show Profiles. Choose Prompt for a profile to be used.
     Click Add.
Type a name for the profile, and then click OK.
Start Outlook, and choose this new profile.
    Sincerely,
    Harry

  • Question: Junk Mail: How to extract groups of emails to add to blocked senders.

    Hi Ernie
I need to find a way to extract lists of emails from Junk mail folder and add them en masse to blocked senders, without having to add them to my blocked senders one by one.
I have had the same email address for too long to change it, but I receive huge amounts of junk mail. I have so far barred nearly 2000 senders and have 1100 sitting in my junk folder form the last week. I barred them one by one, using RULES function...I simply cannot keep doing this.
I have MacBook Pro running Mavericks, plus iPad plus iPhone 5.
The problem is aggravated by the fact that Apple has a weakness in Mail: I may bar thousands of senders on my Mac, but the filter does not sync the barred addresses to my iPad or iPhone, so if I use Mail on either, I get many thousands of emails at once and have to mark them one by one to delete. It's ridiculous.
To solve this problem, I have decided to do is block all the senders in webmail.
However I still have the same problem with extracting multiple addresses from my junk mail folder in order to copy them into blocked senders list.
Genius Bar said it can't be done. I think they're wrong. There simply as to be (a) a location on my Mac where I can find a list of all those I have already barred; (b) a way to extract email addresses from groups of received mail.
I'd be grateful for some advice, please.
    <Email Edited by Host>

Is there nobody ot there who has a solution to my problem, please?

  • How do I block unsolicited e-mail(s) from unsolicited senders? Why isn't there an auto option that simply pops up and asks if you wish to block this sender from future e-mails? I am so tired of my e-mail address being sucked out of a friends address book,

How do I block unsolicited e-mails from the sites that have stolen my e-mail address from a friends address book, and send me non-stop horrid e-mails. Why is there no pop-up to ask if "want sender blocked", to easily solve this problem? Seems like it would be such an easy solution to what must be a universal problem with these e-mail pirates.

It is frontiernet.com that would need to block the emails.
You can setup a Mail "Rule" to send email you do not want into the trash, or a spam folder, etc...
In fact, there is a Mail -> Message ->  Mark -> as Junk Mail, which will train Mail to reconize junk mail and start to automatically move it to a junk mail folder.
You can put this option on the Mail toolbar via Mail -> View -> Customize Toolbar, and drag the "Junk" icon to your Mail Toolbar.
But of course Junk takes training.  You can create a Rule to trash the emails you do not want right away via Mail -> Message -> Add Rule, or Mail -> Preferneces -> Rules
